The Uncertainties of the Uncertainty Principle, Part 2: What Heisenberg missed

Paulo N. Correa, Alexandra N. Correa

The world of the quantum, which encompasses all particles of matter at rest or in motion, photons and massbound charges, is thought to be a world of uncertainty. Yet, the present communication treats the quantum as merely an invariant moment situated at the convergence of very different energy (fine-) structures and processes, all of which permit accurate measurement of particle velocities and their associated wave functions. In the aetherometric approach, a particle and its waves form an energy multiplicity. The outcome of the proposed algebraic analysis is a novel, nonclassical and nonrelativistic theory of photoinertial and electroinertial linear momenta that treats heisenberg-ian path distances as functions of the de Broglie wavelengths, and all photoinertial and electromagnetic energy events as byproducts of electrical processes. Bohr complementarity is easily avoided, once the Heisenberg Principle is demonstrated to be an erroneous interpretation of the quantum nature of the energy processes associated with massbound particles.

A Dynamic Approach to De Broglie's Theory

Nizar Hamdan

Einstein's relativity (SRT) [1], raised an important question: Do its laws apply to matter/energy or to the frame of reference containing it. In other words, is SRT a property characterizing matter/energy or is it an imposed dynamics as expressed by the Lorentz Transformation (LT). This article examines the subtle difference between the two. It proves that matter/energy is the fundamental reality, while the reference frame, although it exists, exerts no force. Therefore, we can start from Newton's second law (NSL) to rebuild SRT [2]. This will allow us to derive the de Broglie relations from NSL while circumventing the well-known contradictions between SRT and de Broglie's quantum wave theory.

Early Quantum Theory: Bohr's Atom

L. Piccirillo

Rutherford thought to explore the structure of matter by bombarding thin sheets of metals with alpha particles. According to Bohr, the mechanism of emission of e.m. wave is represented by the downward vertical lines connecting states at different n. The two main successes are: explanation of Rydberg formula and expression of Rydberg empirical constant in terms of fundamental constants and the calculation of the size of the atom in agreement with measurements. The remarkable fact that de Broglie hypothesis of pilot waves, when applied to the hydrogen atom, gives excellent agreement with Bohr's theory seems to give foundation that the matter-wave duality is a characteristic of elementary particles like the electrons. Shortly after de Broglie suggestion an experimental verification of de Broglie ideas was successfully attempted. Davisson and Germer needed to choose a crystal whose spacing was such that, under a reasonable acceleration voltage of the electrons, the de Broglie wavelength would be of the order of the lattice spacing.
