Abstract

We propose a multi-bit dense coding scheme by using only an Einstein—Podolsky—Rosen (EPR) channel and assistant qubits. It is shown that no matter how many classical bits there are, the quantum channel is always a Bell state. The present dense coding process can also prepare non-local multi-particle Greenberger—Horne—Zeilinger (GHZ) states at one of the participants. The quantum circuits for this dense coding process are constructed, the deterministic implementation method in an optical system based on the cross-Kerr nonlinearities is shown.

Scheme for implementing quantum dense coding by using linear optical system

Liu Ye

A novel scheme for realizing dense coding with Greenberger-Home-Zeilinger(GHZ) state in linear optical system is proposed. In this protocol,Alice codes on photon 1 and 2 by linear optical element and sents these photons to Bob.Then Bob performs a joint measurement on photons 1,2,and 3 with the GHZ basis by employing two quantum nondemolition detectors(QND) and polarizing beam splitter(PBS).Eight GHZ states can be completely discriminated.According to the outcomes of his measurement,Bob can determine what operation Alice applied.Alice only transmits two photons in this process of the quantum dense coding, but Bob can obtain three bits of classical information. The QND devices are generally based on cross-Kerr nonlinearities, and the cross-Kerr nonlinearities are available with electromagnetically induced transparency(EIT).

Controlled Quantum Dense Coding

Yan Feng-Li

A controlled quantum dense coding scheme is proposed with a three-particle non-maximally entangled Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger(GHZ) state. The third party controlls the quantum channel via the local measurement.By introducing an auxiliary particle and performing an unitary transformation, quantum dense coding will be succeeded with certain probability.

Quantum Dense Coding Exploiting a Bright Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Beam

Xiaoying Li, Qing Pan, Jietai Jing +3 more

Highly efficient quantum dense coding for continuous variables has been experimentally accomplished by means of exploiting a bright Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) beam with anticorrelation of amplitude quadratures and correlation of phase quadratures. Two bits of classical information are encoded on two quadratures of a half of a bright EPR beam, then are simultaneously decoded by the other half of the EPR beam with the sensitivities beyond that of the shot noise limit. A high degree of immunity to unauthorized eavesdropping has been experimentally demonstrated.

Three-Particle Einstein–Podolsky–Rose Eigenstate and Its Application in Quantum Dense Coding

Song Tong-Qiang, LI Hui-jun

We study the properties of the three-mode Einstein–Podolsky–Rose (EPR) eigenstate and its application in quantum dense coding. Our result shows that the three-mode EPR eigenstate provides a convenient way to realize quantum dense coding when the quantum channel is a three-mode squeezed state.

Quantum Key Distribution Scheme Based on Dense Encoding in Entangled States

Zhang Xiaolong, Yuexia Zhang, Kelin Gao

A quantum key distribution protocol, based on the quantum dense encoding in entangled states, is presented. In this protocol, we introduce an encoding process to encode, two classical bits information into one of the four one-qubit unitary operations implemented by Alice and the Bell states measurement implemented by Bob in stead of direct measuring the previously shared Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen pairs by both of the distant parties, Alice and Bob Considering the practical application we can get the conclusion that our protocol has some advantages. It not only simplifies the measurement which may induce potential errors, but also improves the effectively transmitted rate of the generated qubits by the raw key. Here we also discuss eavesdropping attacks against the scheme and the channel loss.
