STANDING-WAVE SATURATION RESONANCES IN THE CO2 10.6-μ TRANSITIONS OBSERVED IN A LOW-PRESSURE ROOM-TEMPERATURE ABSORBER GAS

Charles A. Freed, Ali Javan

The standing-wave saturation resonances are observed by subjecting the CO2 absorber gas to the standing-wave 10.6-μ laser field and detecting the change induced in the entire 4.3-μ (001) → (000) spontaneous emission band as the laser frequency is tuned within the Doppler profile of a specific 10.6-μ transition. Long-term stabilization on any oscillating transition is achieved.

DYNAMICAL INVESTIGATION ON MOMENTUM SPREAD OF TWO-LEVEL ATOMS BY A MODULATED STANDING LIGHT WAVE

Zhongjie Wang, Lu Yi-Qun, Lu Tongxing +1 more

In this paper the model of two-level atomic momentum spread in amplitude-modulated standing light wave was investigated. This model shows chaotic behaviour in the classical limit. The system displays the characteristic of dynamical localization for the same parameters as those in the classical model correspoinding to it.

RADIATION EMITTED BY ATOMS MOVING IN THE FIELD OF A STANDING WAVE

Sergey G. Rautian, Igor I Sobel'man

The radiation from atoms moving in the field of a standing wave is considered. The expressions obtained are employed for calculating the power of the stimulated and spontaneous radiation of a gas quantum generator. (auth)
