Duality of two types ofSU(1, 1) coherent states and an intermediate type

Abstract

The two types of SU (1, 1) coherent states of Barut and Girardello and of Perelomov are dual in a sense that the operators in the eigenvalue equation and in the exponentials which create these types of coherent states from the lowest eigenstate (vacuum) form an asymmetric Heisenberg–Weyl algebra. A new type of SU (1, 1) coherent states which takes on an intermediate position between the two dual types of SU (1, 1) coherent states already mentioned is established and investigated. In this new type, the duality of the operators becomes a self-duality and the corresponding operators form a usual Heisenberg–Weyl algebra. Properties of the different SU (1, 1) coherent states are investigated for the realization of SU (1, 1) by one-dimensional quantum-mechanical potential problems leading to a quadratic law of energy-level spacing. Coherent SU (1, 1) phase states are discussed for this realization of SU (1, 1). It is shown that no wavepackets corresponding to any of the SU (1, 1) coherent states can exactly preserve their shape during time evolution.

SU(1,1) coherent states and associated Wick symbol calculus

Shunlong Luo

We display the relationship of Perelomov and Barut–Girardello coherent states associated with the discrete series of SU(1,1) by establishing the interwining operators. Both Perelomov and Barut–Girardello coherent states are deformations of Glauber coherent states of Heisenberg–Weyl group, but they approximate the latter from different sides and exhibit a certain duality. We also develop a symbol calculus of SU(1,1) algebra in terms of Barut–Girardello coherent states (Perelomov coherent states are not suitable for this purpose) and rederive the disentanglement (Baker–Campbell–Hausdorff) formula for SU(1,1) generators by the symbol calculus and parameter differentiation technique.

Bosonic andk-fermionic coherent states for a class of polynomial Weyl–Heisenberg algebras

Mohammed Daoud A, M. Kibler

The aim of this paper is to construct coherent states à la Perelomov and à la Barut–Girardello for a polynomial Weyl–Heisenberg algebra. This generalized Weyl–Heisenberg algebra, denoted by , depends on r real parameters and is an extension of the one-parameter algebra (Daoud and Kibler 2010 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 43 115303) which covers the cases of the su (1, 1) algebra (for κ > 0), the su (2) algebra (for κ < 0) and the h 4 ordinary Weyl–Heisenberg algebra (for κ = 0). For finite-dimensional representations of and , where is a truncation of order s of in the sense of Pegg–Barnett, a connection is established with k -fermionic algebras (or quon algebras). This connection makes it possible to use generalized Grassmann variables for constructing certain coherent states. Coherent states of the Perelomov type are derived for infinite-dimensional representations of and for finite-dimensional representations of and through a Fock–Bargmann analytical approach based on the use of complex (or bosonic) variables. The same approach is applied for deriving coherent states of the Barut–Girardello type in the case of infinite-dimensional representations of . In contrast, the construction of coherent states à la Barut–Girardello for finite-dimensional representations of and can be achieved solely at the price of replacing complex variables by generalized Grassmann (or k -fermionic) variables. Some of the results are applied to su (2), su (1, 1) and the harmonic oscillator (in a truncated or not truncated form). SU(1,1) Nonlinear Coherent States

B. Mojaveri, Alireza Dehghani

The idea of construction of the nonlinear coherent states based on the hypergeometric- type operators associated to the Weyl-Heisenberg group [J:P hys:A 45(2012) 095304], are generalized to the similar states for the arbitrary Lie group SU(1, 1). By using of a discrete, unitary and irreducible representation of the Lie algebra su(1, 1) wide range of generalized nonlinear coherent states(GNCS) have been introduced, which admit a resolution of the identity through positive definite measures on the complex plane. We have shown that realization of these states for different values of the deformation pa- rameters r = 1 and 2 lead to the well-known Klauder-Perelomov and Barut-Girardello coherent states associated to the Irreps of the Lie algebra su(1, 1), respectively. It is worth to mention that, like the canonical coherent states, GNCS possess the temporal stability property. Finally, studying some statistical characters implies that they have indeed nonclassical features such as squeezing, anti-bunching effect and sub-Poissonian statistics, too.

Two-mode coherent states for SU(1,1)⊗SU(1,1)

Christopher C. Gerry, Adil Benmoussa

We study two types of coherent states for two-mode realizations of the direct product group $\mathrm{SU}(1,1)\ensuremath{\bigotimes}\mathrm{SU}(1,1)$ [which is locally isomorphic to SO(2,2)] constructed from the coupling of two single-mode realizations of SU(1,1). The basis states for the relevant representations of $\mathrm{SU}(1,1)\ensuremath{\bigotimes}\mathrm{SU}(1,1)$ are constructed from the SU(1,1) Clebsch-Gordon coefficients. From these, Perelomov and Barut-Giradello coherent states are constructed. Various properties of the states are discussed, and methods for generating them are proposed. Some of the states can be generated by the operation of beam splitters with two-mode squeezed vacuum states or pair coherent states as inputs. We show that a competitive two-channel two-photon process gives rise to states of the Barut-Girardello type as the steady-state solutions of the associated master equation for appropriate initial conditions.

The minimum-uncertainty coherent states for Landau levels

Alireza Dehghani, Hossein Fakhri, B. Mojaveri

The Glauber minimum-uncertainty coherent states with two variables for Landau levels, based on the representation of Weyl-Heisenberg algebra by two different modes, have been studied about four decades ago. Here, we introduce new two-variable coherent states with minimum uncertainty relationship for Landau levels in three different methods: the infinite unitary representation of su(1, 1) is realized in two different methods, first, by consecutive levels with the same energy gaps and also with the same value for z-angular momentum quantum number, then, by shifting z-angular momentum mode number by two units while the energy level remaining the same. Besides, for su(2), whether by lowest Landau levels or Landau levels with lowest z-angular momentum, just one finite unitary representation is introduced. Having constructed the generalized Klauder-Perelomov coherent states, for any of the three representations, we obtain their Glauber coherency by displacement operator of Weyl-Heisenberg algebra.

PERELOMOV AND BARUT–GIRARDELLO SU(1, 1) COHERENT STATES FOR HARMONIC OSCILLATOR IN ONE-DIMENSIONAL HALF SPACE

Quanhui Liu, H. ZHUO

The Perelomov and the Barut–Girardello SU(1, 1) coherent states for harmonic oscillator in one-dimensional half space are constructed. Results show that the uncertainty products ΔxΔp for these two coherent states are bound from below [Formula: see text] that is the uncertainty for the ground state, and the mean values for position x and momentum p in classical limit go over to their classical quantities respectively. In classical limit, the uncertainty given by Perelomov coherent does not vanish, and the Barut–Girardello coherent state reveals a node structure when positioning closest to the boundary x = 0 which has not been observed in coherent states for other systems.
