Abstract

We study the energy level statistics of the SO(5) limit of super-symmetry U(6/4) in odd- A nucleus using the interacting boson–fermion model. The nearest neighbor spacing distribution (NSD) and the spectral rigidity (Δ 3 ) are investigated, and the factors that affect the properties of level statistics are also discussed. The results show that the boson number N is a dominant factor. If N is small, both the interaction strengths of subgroups SO B (5) and SO BF (5) and the spin play important roles in the energy level statistics, however, along with the increase of N , the statistics distribution would tend to be in Poisson form.

We study the energy level statistics of the SO(5) limit of super-symmetry U(6/4) in odd-A nucleus using the interacting boson-fermion model. The nearest neighbor spacing distribution (NSD) and the spectral rigidity (△3)are investigated, and the factors that affect the properties of level statistics are also discussed. Energy level statistics of the U(5) and O(6) symmetries in the interacting boson model

Jing Shu, Ying Ran, Tao Ji +1 more

We study the energy level statistics of the states in U(5) and O(6) dynamical symmetries of the interacting boson model and the high spin states with backbending in U(5) symmetry. In the calculations, the degeneracy resulting from the additional quantum number is eliminated manually. The calculated results indicate that the finite boson number N effect is prominent. When N has a value close to a realistic one, increasing the interaction strength of subgroup O(5) makes the statistics vary from Poisson type to Gaussian orthogonal ensemble type and further recover to Poisson type. However, in the case of $\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{N}\ensuremath{\infty},$ they all tend to be Poisson type. The fluctuation property of the energy levels with backbending in high spin states in U(5) symmetry involves a signal of shape-phase transition between spherical vibration and axial rotation.

Energy-level statistics of interacting trapped bosons

Barnali Chakrabarti, Anindya Biswas, V. K. B. Kota +2 more

It is a well-established fact that statistical properties of energy-level spectra are the most efficient tool to characterize nonintegrable quantum systems. The statistical behavior of different systems such as complex atoms, atomic nuclei, two-dimensional Hamiltonians, quantum billiards, and noninteracting many bosons has been studied. The study of statistical properties and spectral fluctuations in interacting many-boson systems has developed interest in this direction. We are especially interested in weakly interacting trapped bosons in the context of Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) as the energy spectrum shows a transition from a collective nature to a single-particle nature with an increase in the number of levels. However this has received less attention as it is believed that the system may exhibit Poisson-like fluctuations due to the existence of an external harmonic trap. Here we compute numerically the energy levels of the zero-temperature many-boson systems which are weakly interacting through the van der Waals potential and are confined in the three-dimensional harmonic potential. We study the nearest-neighbor spacing distribution and the spectral rigidity by unfolding the spectrum. It is found that an increase in the number of energy levels for repulsive BEC induces a transition from a Wigner-like form displaying level repulsion to the Poisson distribution for $P(s)$. It does not follow the Gaussian orthogonal ensemble prediction. For repulsive interaction, the lower levels are correlated and manifest level-repulsion. For intermediate levels $P(s)$ shows mixed statistics, which clearly signifies the existence of two energy scales: external trap and interatomic interaction, whereas for very high levels the trapping potential dominates, generating a Poisson distribution. Comparison with mean-field results for lower levels are also presented. For attractive BEC near the critical point we observe the Shnirelman-like peak near $s=0$, which signifies the presence of a large number of quasidegenerate states.

Statistical properties of the spectrum of the extended Bose–Hubbard model

Corinna Kollath, Guillaume Roux, Giulio Biroli +1 more

Motivated by the role that spectral properties play for the dynamical evolution of a quantum many-body system, we investigate the level spacing statistics of the extended Bose–Hubbard model. In particular, we focus on the distribution of the ratio of adjacent level spacings, useful at large interactions, to distinguish between chaotic and non-chaotic regimes. After revisiting the bare Bose–Hubbard model, we study the effect of two different perturbations: next-nearest-neighbor hopping and nearest-neighbor interaction. The system size dependence is investigated together with the effect of the proximity to integrable points or lines. Lastly, we discuss the consequences of a cutoff in the number of onsite bosons on the level statistics.

Level spacing of U(5) \leftrightarrow SO(6) transitional region with maximum likelihood estimation method

Jafarizadeh, N. Fouladic, H. Sabric +1 more

In this paper,a systematic study of quantum phase transition within U(5) \leftrightarrow SO(6) limits is presented in terms of infinite dimensional Algebraic technique in the IBM framework. Energy level statistics are investigated with Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method in order to characterize transitional region. Eigenvalues of these systems are obtained by solving Bethe-Ansatz equations with least square fitting processes to experimental data to obtain constants of Hamiltonian. Our obtained results verify the dependence of Nearest Neighbor Spacing Distribution's (NNSD) parameter to control parameter (c_{s}) and also display chaotic behavior of transitional regions in comparing with both limits. In order to compare our results for two limits with both GUE and GOE ensembles, we have suggested a new NNSD distribution and have obtained better KLD distances for the new distribution in compared with others in both limits. Also in the case of N\to\infty, the total boson number dependence displays the universality behavior, namely NNSD tends to Poisson limit for every values of control parameter.

Exact diagonalization study of energy-level statistics in harmonically confined interacting bosons

Mohd Talib, M. A. H. Ahsan

We present an exact diagonalization study of the spectral properties of bosons harmonically confined in a quasi-2D plane and interacting via repulsive Gaussian potential. We consider the lowest 100 energy levels for systems of N=12,16, and 20 bosons in two distinct regimes: (a) when the interaction energy is small compared to the trap energy (moderate interaction) and (b) when the interaction energy is comparable to the trap energy (strong interaction), for the nonrotating (L_{z}=0) as well as the rotating single-vortex state (L_{z}=N). For higher angular momenta, L_{z}=2N and L_{z}=3N, only the strong interaction regime is considered. While the nearest-neighbor spacing distribution (NNSD) P(s) and the ratios of consecutive level spacings distribution P(r) are used to study the short-range correlations, the Dyson-Mehta Δ_{3} statistic and the level number variance Σ^{2}(L) are used to examine the long-range correlations. In the moderate interaction regime, the nonrotating system exhibits Poisson distribution, a characteristic of the regular energy spectra. In the strong interaction regime, the nonrotating system exhibits chaotic behavior signified by GOE distribution. Furthermore, in the rotating case for the single-vortex state (L_{z}=N) in the moderate interaction regime, the system exhibits signatures of weak chaos with some degree of regularity in the energy-level spectra. However, in the strong interaction regime for the rotating case with L_{z}=N, 2N and 3N, the system exhibits strong chaotic behavior. The rotation is found to contribute to enhancement of chaotic behavior in the system for both the moderate and the strong interaction regimes. Our results of NNSD analysis are supported by the analysis of the ratios of consecutive level spacings distribution P(r), which does not involve unfolding.
