Abstract

We study the entanglement dynamics between two strongly-AC-driven superconducting charge qubitscoupled collectively to a zero temperature,dissipative resonator and find an unusual feather that the competing ofcreation and annihilation of entanglement can lead to entanglement increasing,sudden death and revival.We alsocalculate the dependence of the death time on the initial state of the system.

Entanglement dynamics of a superconducting phase qubit coupled to a two-level system

We report the observation and quantitative characterization of driven and spontaneous oscillations of quantum entanglement, as measured by concurrence, in a bipartite system consisting of a macroscopic Josephson phase qubit coupled to a microscopic two-level system. The data clearly show the behavior of entanglement dynamics such as sudden death and revival, and the effect of decoherence and ac driving on entanglement.

Atomic entanglement sudden death in a strongly driven cavity QED system

We study the entanglement dynamics of strongly driven atoms off-resonantly coupled with cavity fields. We consider conditions characterized not only by the atom-field coupling but also by the atom-field detuning. By studying two different models within the framework of cavity QED, we show that the so-called atomic entanglement sudden death (ESD) always occurs if the atom-field coupling lager than the atom-field detuning, and is independent of the type of initial atomic state.

Entanglement dynamics of two qubits driven by classical laser field

The entanglement dynamics of two two-level atoms which are respectively trapped in two independent dissipative single-mode cavities and strongly driven by the classical fields is investigated analytically utilizing the super operator method.It is found that the entanglement is not related to the initial value of the cavity coherent states.The driving field enhances the entanglement sudden death for small dissipation of the cavity,while it protects the entanglement from sudden death for large dissipation in the presence of strong driving field.These results show that even in the bad cavity(with large decay rate),the entanglement can be free from sudden death with the assistance of classical driving field.

Entanglement Research for the Coupled Superconducting Phase Qubit and a Two-Level System

Entanglement can exist not only in the microscopic system (e.g., atom, photon, and ion trap) but also in macroscopic systems. According to recent research, entanglement can be achieved and controlled in superconducting devices. The quantum dynamics and entanglement mechanism of the coupled superconducting phase qubit and a two-level system (TLS) were demonstrated when the bipartite system was under microwave driving. Besides, the results reveal that when the system was experiencing decoherence, entanglement (concurrence) of the coupled superconducting phase qubit and TLS would oscillate damply with microwave driving time, even exhibiting concurrence sudden death and revival. The coupling effect of the superconducting qubit and TLS system and the resonant microwave together help to achieve entanglement, while concurrence death and concurrence revival are dependent on the decoherence source and mechanism, for example, the resonant microwave driving time acting on the bipartite coupling system. Furthermore, the simulation results show the entanglement of the coupled qubit and TLS system also depends on the purity of the initial states of the system. The article carried out a numerical simulation on the entanglement of different initial states, and the results showed that the entanglement of the coupled system changes with different initial states. For different initial states, entanglement, sudden death, and rejuvenation are still visible.

Experimental demonstration of entanglement sudden death induced by natural dissipation

Any quantum system inevitably interacts with its natural environment, which can be modeled as a Markovian reservoir consisting of a continuum of electromagnetic field modes. The quantum coherence of qubits in a zero-temperature natural reservoir decays asymptotically, whereas the quantum entanglement of two qubits coupled to such reservoirs may disappear in a finite time. This phenomenon, referred to as entanglement sudden death (ESD), has been simulated with artificially engineered dissipative channels, but ESD induced by natural dissipative channels has not been confirmed. We here present the first demonstration of natural-dissipation-induced ESD for two photonic qubits, each stored in a leaky resonator of a superconducting circuit. The disentanglement dynamics of the two photonic qubits is monitored with two ancilla superconducting qubits, which can be controllably coupled to the corresponding leaky resonators. The techniques developed in our experiment pave the way for experimental exploration of entanglement dynamics in natural environments.
