Berry phase in a two-atom Jaynes–Cummings model with Kerr medium

Shen-Ping Bu, Guo-Feng Zhang, Jia Liu +1 more

he Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM) is an very important model for describing interaction between quantized electromagnetic fields and atoms in cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED). This model is generalized in many different direction since it predicts many novel quantum effects that can be verified by modern physics experimental technologies. In this paper, the Berry phase and entropy of the ground state for arbitrary photon number $n$ of a two-atom Jaynes-Cummings model with Kerr like medium are investigated. It is found that there are some correspondence between their images, especially the existence of a curve in the $Δ-\varepsilon$ plane along which the energy, Berry phase and entropy all reach their special values. So it is available for detecting entanglement by applying Berry phase.

Berry phase and entanglement of three qubits in a new Yang–Baxter system

Taotao Hu, Kang Xue, Chunfeng Wu

In this paper we construct a new 8×8 M matrix from the 4×4 M matrix, where M/M is the image of the braid group representation. The 8×8 M matrix and the 4×4 M matrix both satisfy extraspecial 2-group algebra relations. By Yang–Baxteration approach, we derive a unitary R̆(θ,φ) matrix from the M matrix with parameters φ and θ. Three-qubit entangled states can be generated by using the R̆(θ,φ) matrix. A Hamiltonian for three qubits is constructed from the unitary R̆(θ,φ) matrix. We then study the entanglement and Berry phase of the Yang–Baxter system.

Phase and amplitude reconstruction by weak measurement based on metasurface

Wenxian Luo, Qiang Yang, Yan Wang +2 more

Phase distribution is crucial for obtaining the whole information of phase object in imaging. However, due to the transparency of phase objects, the phase distribution cannot be obtained in traditional bright-field imaging. Here, we propose a phase distribution reconstruction based on the imaginary value of weak measurement, which is achieved by a Pancharatnam–Berry phase metasurface. Moreover, by adjusting the weak value to a real weak value, amplitude reconstruction can also be achieved. Different parts of weak values can be obtained by controlling the preselection and postselection states. The weak interaction is achieved by the metasurface, which is convenient to control the weak coupling and reduce the complexity of the experimental setup at the same time. Furthermore, the edge contour of objects can also be acquired by the weak measurement, and the edge sharpness is related to types of the weak values, which plays an important role in image resolution. Our method paves a way for quantitative phase imaging and unlabeled biological imaging.
