One dimensional Dirac-Moshinsky oscillator-like system and isospectral partners

Abstract

Two different exactly solvable systems are constructed using the supersymmetric quantum mechanics formalism and a pseudoscalar one-dimensional version of the Dirac- Moshinsky oscillator as a departing system. One system is built using a first-order SUSY transformation. The second is obtained through the confluent supersymmetry algorithm. The two of them are explicitly designed to have the same spectrum as the departing system and pseudoscalar potentials.

SPECTRUM OF THE RELATIVISTIC PARTICLES IN VARIOUS POTENTIALS

Ramazan Koç, MEHMET KOCA

We extend the notion of Dirac oscillator in two dimensions, to construct a set of potentials. These potentials become exactly and quasi-exactly solvable potentials of nonrelativistic quantum mechanics when they are transformed into a Schrödinger-like equation. For the exactly solvable potentials, eigenvalues are calculated and eigenfunctions are given by confluent hypergeometric functions. It is shown that, our formulation also leads to the study of those potentials in the framework of the supersymmetric quantum mechanics.

Supersymmetry transformations for singular potentials

David J. Fernández C., Manuel Gadella, Luis Miguel Nieto

We make a detailed study of the first and second-order SUSY partners of a one-dimensional free Hamiltonian with a singular perturbation proportional to a Dirac delta function. It is shown that the second-order transformations increase the spectral manipulation possibilities offered by the standard first-order supersymmetric quantum mechanics.

Supersymmetry and Superalgebra for the Two-Body System with a Dirac Oscillator Interaction

M. Moshińsky, C. Quesne, Yu.F. Smirnov

Some years ago, one of the authors~(MM) revived a concept to which he gave the name of single-particle Dirac oscillator, while another~(CQ) showed that it corresponds to a realization of supersymmetric quantum mechanics. The Dirac oscillator in its one- and many-body versions has had a great number of applications. Recently, it included the analytic expression for the eigenstates and eigenvalues of a two-particle system with a new type of Dirac oscillator interaction of frequency~\\omega. By considering the latter together with its partner corresponding to the replacement of~\\omega by~-\\omega we are able to get a supersymmetric formulation of the problem and find the superalgebra that explains its degeneracy.

First experimental realization of the Dirac-Moshinsky oscillator

J. A. Franco-Villafañe, Emerson Sadurní, Sonja Barkhofen +3 more

We present the first experimental microwave realization of the one-dimensional Dirac-Moshinsky oscillator, a paradigm in exactly solvable relativistic systems. The experiment relies on a relation of the Dirac-Moshinsky oscillator to a corresponding tight-binding system. This tight-binding system is implemented as a microwave system by a chain of coupled dielectric disks, where the coupling is evanescent and can be adjusted appropriately. The resonances of the finite microwave system yields the spectrum of the one-dimensional Dirac-Moshinsky oscillator with and without mass term. The flexibility of the experimental set-up allows the implementation of other one-dimensional Dirac type equations.

Linearized coherent states for Hamiltonian systems with two equidistant ladder spectra

David Bermúdez, Alonso Contreras-Astorga, David J. Fernández C.

A simple way to construct exactly solvable Hamiltonians whose spectra contain two equidistant ladders, one finite and another infinite, appears when applying supersymmetric quantum mechanics to the harmonic oscillator. Some of those supersymmetric partners have third order differential ladder operators, although the order of the transformation is higher than one. In this work the linearized coherent states for these specific Hamiltonians are studied. To each SUSY partner Hamiltonian corresponds two families of linearized coherent states: one inside the subspace associated with the isospectral part of the spectrum and another one in the finite subspace generated by the states inserted through the SUSY technique.
