An Optical Scheme for the Generation and Analysis of a Two Photon Six-Qubit Linear Cluster State

Raino Ceccarelli, Giuseppe Vallone, F. De Martini +1 more

We present the project of an optical scheme that allows to engineer a 2-photon 6-qubit linear cluster state. By this scheme we are able to create a hyperentangled state based on polarization, linear momentum and arrival time entanglement. Since the three degrees of freedom of the photons are fully independent, the hyperentangled state allows the maximum entanglement of the particles. By suitable local unitary operations the hyperentangled state can be easily transformed into a linear cluster state, with important applications in photonic quantum computation and quantum nonlocality tests.

High-Fidelity Hyperentangled Cluster States of Two-Photon Systems and Their Applications

Tan Liu, Fang Zhou, Lingxia Zhang +3 more

An efficient scheme is proposed in this study to prepare four symmetric hyperentangled cluster states in the polarization degrees of freedom (DOF) and spatial DOF with a two-photon system. This system consists of two nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers which are coupled to two microtoroidal resonators. The two-photon polarization-spatial hyperentangled cluster states can be generated with our system by virtue of the input and output process. Compared with previous works, our quantum circuit for preparing the hyperentangled cluster states is simple and economic. Moreover, our scheme works deterministically and does not need any extra qubits, making it applicable to existing technologies. Our calculations show that our scheme has high fidelity with current technology, which can help hyperentangled cluster states to play a very useful role in quantum communication networks with long distances and high capacity.

Scalable generation and characterization of a four-photon twelve-qubit hyperentangled state

Kun Du, Cong‐Feng Qiao

An experimentally feasible scheme for generating a 12-qubit hyperentangled state via four photons, entangled in polarization, frequency and spatial mode, is proposed. We study the nature of quantum non-locality of this hyperentangled state by evaluating its violation degree to a Bell-type inequality, and find that the result agrees well with quantum mechanics prediction while extremely contradicting the local realism constraint.
