Abstract

We present two general methods to implement quantum circuits for the direct measuring of local unitary invariants on quantum computers. We work these out for important three-qubit invariants, and also demonstrate these on the IBM Quantum Platform for important entanglement measures of three qubits.

On Local Unitary Equivalence of Two and Three-qubit States

Bao-Zhi Sun, Shao-Ming Fei, Zhi‐Xi Wang

We study the local unitary equivalence for two and three-qubit mixed states by investigating the invariants under local unitary transformations. For two-qubit system, we prove that the determination of the local unitary equivalence of 2-qubits states only needs 14 or less invariants for arbitrary two-qubit states. Using the same method, we construct invariants for three-qubit mixed states. We prove that these invariants are sufficient to guarantee the LU equivalence of certain kind of three-qubit states. Also, we make a comparison with earlier works.

Quantum circuit for the direct measurement of the three-tangle of three-qubit states

Marziyeh Yahyavi, M. A. Jafarizadeh, Naser Karimi +1 more

Abstract Understanding how to decompose quantum computations in the language of the shortest possible sequence of quantum gates is of interest to many researchers due to the importance of the experimental implementation of the desired quantum computations. We contribute to this research by providing a quantum circuit to directly measure the three-tangle of three-qubit quantum states. Direct measurement of outcome probabilities in the computational basis quantifies the three-tangle of the three-qubit quantum states.

Classification and measure of entanglement in three-qubit systems

Carlos Sabín, Guillermo García Alcaine

We present a classification of three-qubit states based in their three-qubit and reduced two-qubit entanglements. For pure states these criteria can be easily implemented, and the different types can be related with sets of equivalence classes under Local Unitary operations. For mixed states characterization of full tripartite entanglement is not yet solved in general; some partial results will be presented here. I.

Three-qubit Groverian measure

Eylee Jung, Mi-Ra Hwang, D. Park +2 more

The Groverian measures are analytically computed in various types of three-qubit states. The final results are also expressed in terms of local-unitary invariant quantities in each type. This fact reflects the manifest local-unitary invariance of the Groverian measure. It is also shown that the analytical expressions for various types have correct limits to other types. For some types (type 4 and type 5) we failed to compute the analytical expression of the Groverian measure in this paper. However, from the consideration of local-unitary invariants we have shown that the Groverian measure in type 4 should be independent of the phase factor $\varphi$, which appear in the three-qubit state $|\psi \rangle$. This fact with geometric interpretation on the Groverian measure may enable us to derive the analytical expressions for general arbitrary three-qubit states in near future.

Invariants for a Class of Nongeneric Three-qubit States

Bao-zhi Sun A, Shao-Ming Fei

We investigate the equivalence of quantum states under local unitary transformations. A complete set of invariants under local unitary transformations is presented for a class of non-generic three-qubit mixed states. It is shown that two such states in this class are locally equivalent if and only if all these invariants have equal values for them. As the properties of entanglement of a multipartite quantum system remain invariant under local unitary transformations on the subsystems, the entanglement can be characterized by all the invariants of the local unitary transformations.
