Abstract

Abstract The states of a three-mode bosonic system with the restricted Hilbert space are discussed in the context of quantum entanglement and squeezing of quantum fluctuations. The states exhibiting nonzero tripartite entanglement are considered. Mutual relations between the two- and three-mode entanglement quantified by the corresponding negativities and the squeezing described by the corresponding principal squeeze variances are revealed. Entangled three-qubit states exhibiting squeezing are identified.

The relation between three types of three-mode squeezing operators and the tripartite entangled state

Hong-Yi Fan, Nian-Quan Jiang

Based on the newly constructed tripartite entangled state of continuum variables (Fan and Jiang 2003 J. Opt. B: Quantum Semiclass. Opt. 5 283) we introduce three different, but mutually commutable, squeezing operators which can squeeze any three-mode quantum states; in particular they squeeze to , and respectively. Schemes of implementing these squeezing operators are briefly discussed.

Based on two mutual conjugate tripartite entangled states and we generalize the two-mode one-sided squeezing operators to three-mode case. We derive how the tripartite entangled states transform under the three-mode squeezing operators. We conclude that the entangled state representations provide a convenient basis for deriving various three-mode squeezing operators.

Quantum Entanglement for Systems of Identical Bosons. Spin Squeezing and Other Entanglement Tests in Two Mode Systems

Bryan J. Dalton, Libby Heaney, John Goold +2 more

The concept of entangled quantum states is considered in the context of systems of identical particles, based on the requirement that in order to represent physical states both for the overall system and the sub-systems which may be entangled, the density operators must satisfy the symmetrisation principle and global and local super-selection rules that prohibit states in which there are coherences between differing particle numbers. These requirements and their justification are fully discussed. In the second quantisation approach used, both the system and the sub-systems are modes (or sets of modes) rather than particles, particles being associated with different occupancies of the modes. The definition of entangled states is based on first defining the non-entangled states - after specifying which modes constitute the sub-systems. This paper mainly focuses on two mode entanglement for massive bosons. Several inequalities involving variances and mean values of operators involving mode annihilation, creation operators have been proposed as tests for two mode entangled states, including the inequalities that define spin squeezing. Spin squeezing criteria in two mode systems are examined, and spin squeezing is best considered for principle spin operator components where the covariance matrix is diagonal. It is shown that the presence of spin squeezing in at least one of the spin components requires entanglement of the relevant pair of modes. Several of the other proposed tests for entanglement, including ones based on the sum of the variances for two spin components are considered. All of the tests are still valid when the present concept of entanglement based on the symmetrisation and super-selection rule criteria is applied, but further tests have been obtained here. Sometimes the new tests are satisfied whilst than those obtained in other papers are not.

Entanglement and Entropy Squeezing for Moving Two Two-Level Atoms Interaction with a Radiation Field

S. Abdel‐Khalek, Eied Mahmoud Khalil, Beida Alsubei +3 more

In this paper, we analyzed squeezing in the information entropy, quantum state fidelity, and qubit-qubit entanglement in a time-dependent system. The proposed model consists of two qubits that interact with a two-mode electromagnetic field under the dissipation effect. An analytical solution is calculated by considering the constants for the equations of motion. The effect of the general form of the time-dependent for qubit-field coupling and the dissipation term on the temporal behavior of the qubit-qubit entanglement, quantum state fidelity, entropy, and variance squeezing are examined. It is shown that the intervals of entanglement caused more squeezing for the case of considering the time-dependent parameters. Additionally, the entanglement between the qubits became more substantial for the case of time dependence. Fidelity and negativity rapidly reached the minimum values by increasing the effect of the dissipation parameter. Moreover, the amount of variance squeezing and the amplitude of the oscillations decreased considerably when the time dependence increased, but the fluctuations increased substantially. We show the relation between entropy and variance squeezing in the presence and absence of the dissipation parameter during the interaction period. This result enables new parameters to control the degree of entanglement and squeezing, especially in quantum communication.

Two-way and three-way negativities of three-qubit entangled states

S. Shelly Sharma, Naresh Kumar Sharma

We propose to quantify three-qubit entanglement using global negativity along with $K$-way negativities, where $K=2$ and 3. The principle underlying the definition of $K$-way negativity for pure and mixed states of $N$ subsystems is a positive partial transpose sufficient condition. However, $K$-way partial transpose with respect to a subsystem is defined so as to shift the focus to $K$-way coherences instead of $K$ subsystems of the composite system. A quantum state of a three-qubit system is characterized by the coherences measured by global, two-way, and three-way negativities. For a canonical state of three-qubit system, entanglement measures for genuine tripartite entanglement, W-like entanglement, and bipartite entanglement can be related to two-way and three-way negativities.
