Abstract

In this paper, we optimize photon blockade in a cavity magnomechanical system using feedback by introducing optimized values for the phase and magnetic field coupling strength at each drive frequency. It is shown that the computed values significantly reduce the photon second-order correlation function in the dynamic Schrodinger equation. The Radau method, an implicit Runge-Kutta method, has been employed, which provides more accurate results. Furthermore, we demonstrate that a frequency detuning between the magnon and photon can result in deep values of photon blockade. Utilizing these optimized parameters outperforms scenarios that rely on constant, non-optimized values. This approach provides strong potential for applications in quantum sensing and quantum computation.

Enhancement of Photon Blockade in Cavity‐Magnon Systems via Coherent Feedback

Zhipeng Cheng, Long‐Jiang Cong, Yi‐Xiong Luo +7 more

Abstract This paper proposes a novel scheme to enhance the photon blockade effect in a cavity‐magnon system via coherent feedback loops. The system comprises a microwave cavity, a coherent feedback loop, and a yttrium iron garnet sphere. The cavity mode is coupled to the magnon mode via magnetic dipole interaction and is driven by both a two‐photon driving field and a weak pump field. The statistical properties of photons are characterized through the second‐order correlation function. Research findings indicate that coherent feedback significantly enhances the photon blockade effect, with the underlying physical mechanism being the effective reduction of the average two‐photon number. After introducing the two‐photon driving field, the optimal driving intensity and phase conditions for achieving photon blockade through analytical calculations are obtained. Under these optimal parameters, the proposed scheme demonstrates a low reflection coefficient, thereby ensuring excellent experimental feasibility and flexible controllability. This study offers new insights into the design of tunable single‐photon sources and establishes a novel research platform based on coherent feedback control for realizing photon blockade.

Achieving Strong Magnon Blockade through Magnon Squeezing in a Cavity Magnetomechanical System

Mohamed Amazioug, Denys Dutykh, Berihu Teklu +1 more

Abstract A scheme that harnesses magnon squeezing under weak pump driving within a cavity magnomechanical system to achieve a robust magnon (photon) blockade is proposed. Through meticulous analytical calculations of optimal parametric gain and detuning values, the objective is to enhance the second‐order correlation function. The findings demonstrate a substantial magnon blockade effect under ideal conditions, accompanied by a simultaneous photon blockade effect. Impressively, both numerical and analytical results are found to be in complete accord, providing robust validation for the consistency of the findings. It is anticipated that the proposed scheme will serve as a pioneering approach toward the practical realization of magnon (photon) blockade in experimental cavity magnomechanical systems.

Improving few-photon optomechanical effects with coherent feedback

Yue Wei, Xiaojuan Wang, Biao Xiong +3 more

Few-photon effects such as photon blockade and tunneling have potential applications in modern quantum technology. To enhance the few-photon effects in an optomechanical system, we introduce a coherent feedback loop to cavity mode theoretically. By studying the second-order correlation function, we show that the photon blockade effect can be improved with feedback. Under appropriate parameters, the photon blockade effect exists even when cavity decay rate is larger than the single-photon optomechanical coupling coefficient, which may reduce the difficulty of realizing single-photon source in experiments. Through further study of the third-order correlation function, we show that the tunneling effect can also be enhanced by feedback. In addition, we discuss the application of feedback on Schrödinger-cat state generation in an optomechanical system. The result shows that the fidelity of cat state generation can be improved in the presence of feedback loop.

Enhanced Unconventional Photon Blockade Via Parametric Amplification in Cavity Magnomechanical Systems

Min Cao, Yikyung Yu, Xue Yan Han +2 more

Abstract A scheme is proposed to realize strong photon blockade (PB) effect in cavity magnomechanical system by incorporating a magnon parametric amplification (MPA). By analyzing the theoretical model of this system, it is found that the introduction of MPA not only increases additional transition pathways but also facilitates destructive interference between different transition paths, leading to a significantly enhanced unconventional photon blockade (UPB). This research demonstrates that PB is highly sensitive to phase and driving strength, and the optimized parameter relationships provide effective guidance for achieving quantum correlation. Furthermore, these conditions are closely related to the strength of the magnon‐photon coupling, indicating the significant impact of the system's nonlinear characteristics on the photon–photon correlations. This work not only deepens the understanding of quantum interference in hybrid cavity systems but also provides a viable route toward realizing high‐purity single‐photon sources in magnomechanical platforms.

Magnon-Squeezing-Induced Nonreciprocal Quantum Coherence in a Cavity Magnomechanical System

Abdelkader Hidki, Amjad Sohail, Tesfay Gebremariam Tesfahannes +2 more

We investigate quantum coherence in a hybrid cavity magnomechanical system incorporating a squeezed-magnon drive. By analyzing the Gaussian quantum coherence of the cavity, magnonic, and mechanical subsystems, as well as the total system coherence, we identify the critical roles of phase control, coupling strength, drive power, and thermal noise. We show that the squeezing amplitude and phase precisely modulate the effective magnon frequency and damping, enabling phase-dependent enhancement and nonreciprocal transfer of coherence. Our systematic parameter analysis indicates that increasing driving power and photon-magnon coupling enhances quantum coherence, while thermal decoherence leads to its degradation. However, this effect is partially suppressed by the presence of magnon squeezing. The results show that squeezed magnons are a robust and tunable resource for controlling, stabilizing, and optimizing quantum coherence in cavity magnomechanical platforms, offering potential applications in hybrid magnonic systems and coherent quantum information processing.

Photon blockade by enhancing coupling via a nonlinear medium

Jin-Song Liu, Junya Yang, Hongyu Liu +1 more

A significantly low value of the single-photon coupling constant is a major challenge in the creation of a single-photon source via photon blockade. Here, we propose a photon blockade scheme composed of a weakly second-order nonlinear medium with an optical parametric amplification in a low-frequency cavity. Unlike the traditional weakly coupled system, the effective coupling strength in the proposed scheme can be significantly higher than the decay rate of the cavity mode. This can be achieved by adjusting the squeezing parameter even if the original coupling strength is weak. The thermal noise of the squeezed cavity mode can be suppressed by a squeezed vacuum field. Using a probability amplitude method, we obtain the optimal condition of photon blockade in the steady-state. By solving the master equation numerically in the steady-state, a strong photon antibunching effect that is consistent with the optimal conditions can be obtained in the cavity with low frequency. Besides, the photon blockade phenomenon and cross-correlation of two cavities can be significantly enhanced under a specific squeezing parameter. Our results may be useful for future studies on the characteristics of photon statistics.
