Abstract

Abstract This paper proposes a novel scheme to enhance the photon blockade effect in a cavity‐magnon system via coherent feedback loops. The system comprises a microwave cavity, a coherent feedback loop, and a yttrium iron garnet sphere. The cavity mode is coupled to the magnon mode via magnetic dipole interaction and is driven by both a two‐photon driving field and a weak pump field. The statistical properties of photons are characterized through the second‐order correlation function. Research findings indicate that coherent feedback significantly enhances the photon blockade effect, with the underlying physical mechanism being the effective reduction of the average two‐photon number. After introducing the two‐photon driving field, the optimal driving intensity and phase conditions for achieving photon blockade through analytical calculations are obtained. Under these optimal parameters, the proposed scheme demonstrates a low reflection coefficient, thereby ensuring excellent experimental feasibility and flexible controllability. This study offers new insights into the design of tunable single‐photon sources and establishes a novel research platform based on coherent feedback control for realizing photon blockade.

Conventional and unconventional photon blockade via nonlinear and parametric amplification

Zhipeng Cheng, Long‐Jiang Cong, Yi‐Xiong Luo +4 more

We propose a hybrid cavity-magnon system scheme that integrates a yttrium iron garnet sphere with a microwave cavity filled with Kerr medium, aiming to achieve both conventional and unconventional photon blockade simultaneously. Our research demonstrates that by tuning the strength of the Kerr nonlinearity and adjusting the two-photon driving intensity, we can realize quantum effects associated with both types of photon blockade. Furthermore, through careful selection of system parameters, we have obtained optimal results for photon blockade under ideal conditions. This scheme fully exploits the advantages offered by both conventional and unconventional photon blockade mechanisms, effectively reducing the equal-time second-order photon correlation function while also achieving a higher mean photon number. It provides an alternative and experimentally feasible platform for preparing single-photon sources characterized by enhanced purity and brightness.

Enhancement of Microwave Entanglement via Coherent Quantum Feedback with Cavity Magnonics

Yue‐Han Lin, Rong‐Can Yang, Zhi‐Bo Yang +1 more

Abstract Entangled microwave fields are a crucial resource for quantum information processing and quantum computation. Here a scheme is presented to enhance quantum entanglement between two microwave cavity modes using coherent quantum feedback in cavity magnonics. The system consists of a planar cross‐line cavity that includes two microwave cavity modes, with a ferrimagnetic yttrium‐iron‐garnet (YIG) sphere positioned at the intersection of these modes. The magnon mode confined in the YIG sphere can simultaneously be coupled to both microwave cavity modes via magnetic dipole interaction. Additionally, a coherent feedback loop is integrated into one of the cavity modes to modulate its frequency detuning and dissipation. These results demonstrate that feedback control can effectively reduce the dissipation and effective environmental temperature, thereby relaxing the stringent requirement of quantum state generation on extremely low bath temperatures. Furthermore, by enhancing the feedback signal to reduce the high power requirement for activating magnon Kerr effect, the feasibility of the experiment is significantly improved. The scheme finds broad applications in many quantum tasks that require microwave entanglement and other research field that needs to cool quantum systems.

Quantum Correlation Enhanced with Quantum Coherent Feedback Control in a Cavity‐magnon Hybrid System

Yue‐Han Lin, Ya‐Qin Lin, Zhi‐Ying Lin +2 more

Abstract A scheme is proposed to enhance quantum correlation, including entanglement and steering, for two magnon modes in a cavity‐magnon hybrid system through coherent quantum feedback. The hybrid system consists of a microwave cavity and two YIG spheres, which incorporates a nonlinear flux‐driven Josephson parametric amplifier in order for the generation of two photons within the cavity simultaneously. A quantum coherent feedback loop is used for the reduction of effective dissipation. By modulating feedback parameters, optimal bipartite and tripartite entanglement, as well as quantum steering are derived. Importantly, compared with the same setup without coherent feedback, the proposed scheme significantly improves quantum correlation. Furthermore, by optimizing the feedback reflectivity and the ratio of cavity‐magnon coupling strength, the enhancement of asymmetric steering can be controlled. Notably, incorporating the feedback loop effectively increase its robustness against thermal noise, thus the scheme offer better prospect for experimental development. This study paves the way for advancements in quantum information processing and quantum entanglement within cavity‐magnonics.

Chiral cavity-magnonic system for the unidirectional photon blockade

Jiaxin Yang, Yilou Liu, Rui-Shan Zhao +1 more

We propose an scheme for directional single-photon source based on a chiral cavity-magnon system. In this system, the magnon mode in a single-crystal yttrium iron garnet (YIG) sphere is coupled to only one of two rotating microwave modes in the torus-shaped microwave cavity. When two-photon drives are applied to both ports of the waveguide, the chiral cavity-magnon coupling leads to an unconventional photon blockade in one propagation direction, resulting in directional single-photon emission. The emission direction of the single-photon source can be controlled by reversing the biased magnetic field. Furthermore, we further examine the effects of imperfect chiral cavity-magnon coupling and the coupling between the two cavity modes on the photon blockade behavior. The results show that the system retains robustness in the presence of these nonideal factors, and the unidirectional photon blockade effect remains clearly preserved.

Achieving Strong Magnon Blockade through Magnon Squeezing in a Cavity Magnetomechanical System

Mohamed Amazioug, Denys Dutykh, Berihu Teklu +1 more

Abstract A scheme that harnesses magnon squeezing under weak pump driving within a cavity magnomechanical system to achieve a robust magnon (photon) blockade is proposed. Through meticulous analytical calculations of optimal parametric gain and detuning values, the objective is to enhance the second‐order correlation function. The findings demonstrate a substantial magnon blockade effect under ideal conditions, accompanied by a simultaneous photon blockade effect. Impressively, both numerical and analytical results are found to be in complete accord, providing robust validation for the consistency of the findings. It is anticipated that the proposed scheme will serve as a pioneering approach toward the practical realization of magnon (photon) blockade in experimental cavity magnomechanical systems.

Controlled Nonreciprocal Magnon and Photon Blockade Using Barnett Effects in a Spinning Microwave Magnomechanical System

Mohamed Amazioug, S. Abdel‐Khalek, Muhammad Asjad

Abstract Unconventional magnon and photon blockade have attracted significant research interest for their ability to generate single‐particle sources in hybrid quantum systems, particularly in cavity magnonics. In this work, a scheme is presented to investigate the effect of Barnett effects in the nonreciprocal blocked of magnons and photons within a spinning microwave magnomechanical system with a squeezed input drive of the magnonic mode. The effects of thermal noise, the amplitude of a probe field, and the magnetic‐dipole coupling strength are realized using the weak‐coupling regime. Using the Mandel parameter, the nonclassicality of the system is discussed. Additionally, the time evolution of the second‐order correlation function is examined.
