Correlation functions of the six-vertex IRF model and its quantum spin chain

Abstract

We consider the interaction-round-a-face version of the isotropic six-vertex model. The associated spin chain is made of two coupled Heisenberg spin chains with different boundary twists. The phase diagram of the model and the long distance correlations were studied in Tavares and Ribeiro (2023) [43] . Here, we compute the short-distance correlation functions of the model in the ground state for finite system sizes via non-linear integral equations and in the thermodynamic limit. This was possible since the model satisfies the face version of the discrete quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov (qKZ) equation. A suitable ansatz for the density matrix is proposed in the form of a direct sum of two Heisenberg density matrices, which allows us to obtain the discrete functional equation for the two-site function ω ( λ 1 , λ 2 ) . Thanks to the known results on the factorization of correlation functions of the Heisenberg chain, we are able to compute the density matrix of the IRF model for up to four sites and its associated spin chain for up to three sites.

Correlation functions of the 19-vertex IRF model and its integrable quantum spin-1 chain

T. S. Tavares, H. B. Abreu, G A P Ribeiro

We consider the interaction-round-a-face version of the nineteen-vertex model and derive a new quantum spin-$1$ chain. In the isotropic limit, the associated spin chain can be seen as three coupled Babujian-Taktahjan spin chains with different boundary twists. We compute the ground state short-distance correlation functions of the isotropic model in the thermodynamic limit by exploiting the shared integrable structure between the models.

Density matrices in integrable face models

Holger Frahm, Daniel Westerfeld

Using the properties of the local Boltzmann weights of integrable interaction-round-a-face (IRF or face) models we express local operators in terms of generalized transfer matrices. This allows for the derivation of discrete functional equations for the reduced density matrices in inhomogeneous generalizations of these models. We apply these equations to study the density matrices for IRF models of various solid-on-solid type and quantum chains of non-Abelian \mathbold{su(2)_3} 𝐬 𝐮 ( 2 ) 3 or Fibonacci anyons. Similar as in the six vertex model we find that reduced density matrices for a sequence of consecutive sites can be ‘factorized’, i.e. expressed in terms of nearest-neighbour correlators with coefficients which are independent of the model parameters. Explicit expressions are provided for correlation functions on up to three neighbouring sites.

Finite temperature properties of an integrable zigzag ladder chain

Thiago Silva Tavares, G A P Ribeiro

We consider the interaction-round-a-face version of the six-vertex model for arbitrary anisotropy parameter, which allow us to derive an integrable one-dimensional quantum Hamiltonian with three-spin interactions. We apply the quantum transfer matrix approach for the face model version of the six-vertex model. The integrable quantum Hamiltonian shares some thermodynamical properties with the Heisenberg XXZ chain, but has different ordering and critical exponents. Two gapped phases are the dimerized antiferromagnetic order and the usual antiferromagnetic (Néel) order for positive nearest neighbor Ising coupling. In between these, there is an extended critical region, which is a quantum spin-liquid with broken parity symmetry inducing an oscillatory behavior at the long distance <σ1zσℓ+1z> correlation. At finite temperatures, the numerical solution of the non-linear integral equations allows for the determination of the correlation length as well as for the momentum of the oscillation.

Interaction-round-a-face density-matrix renormalization-group method applied to rotational-invariant quantum spin chains

Tatsuaki Wada

An interaction-round-a-face density-matrix renormalization-group (IRF-DMRG) method is developed for higher integer spin chain models which are rotational invariant. The expressions of the IRF weights associated with the nearest-neighbor spin-$S$ interaction ${\mathbf{S}}_{i}\ensuremath{\cdot}{\mathbf{S}}_{i+1}$ are explicitly derived. Using the IRF-DMRG with these IRF weights, the Haldane gaps $\ensuremath{\Delta}$ and the ground state energy densities ${e}_{0}$ for both $S=1$ and $S=2$ isotropic antiferromagnetic Heisenberg quantum spin chains are calculated by keeping up to only $m=90$ states.

Exact evaluation of density matrix elements for the Heisenberg chain

Jun Sato, Masahiro Shiroishi, Minoru Takahashi

We have obtained all the density matrix elements on six lattice sites for the spin-1/2 Heisenberg chain via the algebraic method based on the quantum Knizhnik–Zamolodchikov equations. Several interesting correlation functions, such as chiral correlation functions, dimer–dimer correlation functions, etc, have been analytically evaluated. Furthermore, we have calculated all the eigenvalues of the density matrix and analyse the eigenvalue distribution. As a result, the exact von Neumann entropy for the reduced density matrix on six lattice sites has been obtained.
