On the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz for spin chains with simple $\mathfrak{g}$-symmetry

Abstract

We propose a new framework for the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz for a closed, rational spin chain with $\mathfrak{g}$-symmetry for any simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. Starting the nesting process by removing a single simple root from $\mathfrak{g}$, we use the residual $U(1)$ charge and the block Gauss decomposition of the $R$-matrix to derive many standard results in the Bethe ansatz, such as the nesting of Yangian algebras, and the AB commutation relation.

Nested algebraic Bethe ansaetze for orthogonal and symplectic spin chains

Allan John Gerrard

In this thesis the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz technique is applied to various orthogonal and symplectic closed and open spin chain models. Each spin chain considered is regarded as a representation of an underlying quantum group algebra, and expressions for eigenvectors of transfer matrices associated to these models are constructed using the algebra relations, reducing the problem to a set of Bethe equations. The specific models considered are the Ol'shanskii twisted Yangian spin chain, where gl_n bulk symmetry is broken to orthogonal or symplectic symmetry; the MacKay twisted Yangian spin chain, an open spin chain with bulk orthogonal or symplectic symmetry and various boundary types; and the q-deformed orthogonal or symplectic closed spin chain. For the first and third cases, a closed 'trace formula' expression for the eigenvector is also provided.

Nested algebraic Bethe ansatz for orthogonal and symplectic open spin chains

Allan John Gerrard, Vidas Regelskis

We present a nested algebraic Bethe ansatz for one-dimensional so2n- and sp2n-symmetric open spin chains with diagonal boundary conditions. The monodromy matrix of these spin chains satisfies the defining relations on the extended twisted Yangians Xρ(so2n,so2nρ)tw and Xρ(sp2n,sp2nρ)tw, respectively. We use a generalisation of the De Vega and Karowski approach allowing us to relate the spectral problem of so2n- or sp2n-symmetric open spin chain to that of gln-symmetric open spin chain studied by Belliard and Ragoucy. We explicitly derive the structure of Bethe vectors, their eigenvalues and the nested Bethe equations. We also provide a proof of Belliard and Ragoucy's trace formula for Bethe vectors of gln-symmetric open spin chains.

The nested Bethe ansatz for ‘all’ closed spin chains

S. Belliard, E. Ragoucy

We present in a unified and detailed way the nested Bethe ansatz for closed spin chains based on or (super)algebras, with arbitrary representations (i.e. 'spins') on each site of the chain. In particular, the case of indecomposable representations of superalgebras is studied. The construction extends and unifies the results already obtained for spin chains based on or and for some particular super-spin chains. We give the Bethe equations and the form of the Bethe vectors. The case of gl (2|1), gl (2|2) and gl (4|4) superalgebras (that are related to AdS/CFT correspondence) is also detailed.

Bethe ansatz without nesting

Gleb Eduardovich Arutyunov, Hrachya M. Babujian, Minghao Gao

A bstract We develop a non-nested Bethe ansatz description of rational 𝔤𝔩 ℓ spin chains in the vector representation. Starting from the quantum spectral curve and the separation-of-variables framework, we derive closed systems of Bethe equations involving only the momentum-carrying Bethe roots. The construction is worked out explicitly for the 𝔤𝔩 3 and 𝔤𝔩 4 spin chains and then generalized to arbitrary rank. A central result of this work is the identification of a recursive hierarchy associated with the fundamental transfer matrices. The hierarchy is generated by regularity conditions of the lower transfer matrices and closes through a universal rank- ℓ equation ℛ ℓ = 0. This equation replaces the final level of the conventional nested Bethe ansatz and eliminates all auxiliary Bethe roots. Consequently, the complete spectral data of an eigenstate are encoded solely in the first Baxter polynomial Q 1 ( u ). We further obtain explicit expressions for the eigenvalues of all fundamental transfer matrices in terms of the momentum-carrying roots alone. The resulting formulation provides a compact characterization of the spectrum of rational 𝔤𝔩 ℓ spin chains and reveals a direct connection between the quantum spectral curve, transfer-matrix fusion relations, and a truncated Q -system underlying the non-nested description. Finally, we investigate the quasi-classical (Gaudin) limit of the non-nested Bethe equations. For the 𝔤𝔩 3 spin chain, we show that the leading non-trivial contribution gives rise to Gaudin equations whose pole-free form naturally defines a scalar third-order 𝔤𝔩 3 oper.

Completeness of Wronskian Bethe equations for rational $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$ spin chain

Dmitry Chernyak, Sébastien Leurent, Dmytro Volin

We consider rational integrable supersymmetric gl(m|n) spin chains in the defining representation and prove the isomorphism between a commutative algebra of conserved charges (the Bethe algebra) and a polynomial ring (the Wronskian algebra) defined by functional relations between Baxter Q-functions that we call Wronskian Bethe equations. These equations, in contrast to standard nested Bethe equations, admit only physical solutions for any value of inhomogeneities and furthermore we prove that the algebraic number of solutions to these equations is equal to the dimension of the spin chain Hilbert space (modulo relevant symmetries). Both twisted and twist-less periodic boundary conditions are considered, the isomorphism statement uses, as a sufficient condition, that the spin chain inhomogeneities $\theta_\ell$, $\ell=1,\ldots,L$ satisfy $\theta_\ell+\hbar\neq\theta_{\ell'}$ for $\ell<\ell'$. Counting of solutions is done in two independent ways: by computing a character of the Wronskian algebra and by explicitly solving the Bethe equations in certain scaling regimes supplemented with a proof that the algebraic number of solutions is the same for any value of $\theta_\ell$. In particular, we consider the regime $\theta_{\ell+1}/\theta_{\ell}\gg 1$ for the twist-less chain where we succeed to provide explicit solutions and their systematic labelling with standard Young tableaux.
