Novel ASEP-inspired solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation

Abstract

Abstract We explore the algebraic structure of a particular ansatz of the Yang-Baxter equation (YBE), which is inspired by the Bethe Ansatz treatment of the asymmetric simple exclusion process spin-model. Various classes of Hamiltonian density arriving from the two types of R-matrices are found, which also appear as solutions of the constant YBE. We identify the idempotent and nilpotent categories of such constant R-matrices and perform a rank-1 numerical search for the lowest dimension. A summary of the final results reveals general non-Hermitian spin-1/2 chain models.

New spectral-parameter dependent solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation

Alexander. S. Garkun, Suvendu Barik, Aleksey K. Fedorov +1 more

The Yang-Baxter Equation (YBE) plays a crucial role for studying integrable many-body quantum systems. Many known YBE solutions provide various examples ranging from quantum spin chains to superconducting systems. Models of solvable statistical mechanics and their avatars are also based on YBE. Therefore, new solutions of the YBE could be used to construct new interesting 1D quantum or 2D classical systems with many other far-reaching applications. In this work, we attempt to find (almost) exhaustive set of solutions for the YBE in the lowest dimensions corresponding to a two-qubit case. We develop an algorithm, which can potentially be used for generating new higher-dimensional solutions of the YBE.

Matrix coordinate Bethe Ansatz: applications to XXZ and ASEP models

Nicolas Crampé, E. Ragoucy, Damien Simon

We present the construction of the full set of eigenvectors of the open asymmetric simple exclusion process (ASEP) and XXZ models with special constraints on the boundaries. The method combines both recent constructions of coordinate Bethe Ansatz and the old method of matrix Ansatz specific to the ASEP. This 'matrix coordinate Bethe Ansatz' can be viewed as a non-commutative coordinate Bethe Ansatz, the non-commutative part being related to the algebra appearing in the matrix Ansatz.

The Yang–baxter Equation: Mathematical Structures, Physical Realizations, and Applications

Rakesh Paswan, Deep Prabha Bharti

The Yang–Baxter Equation (YBE) is a central algebraic identity that governs the compatibility of multi-body interactions in both mathematics and physics. Originating in the context of factorized scattering and exactly solvable models, the YBE has evolved into a unifying principle connecting integrable systems, representation theory, low-dimensional topology, braid groups, quantum groups, tensor categories, and topological quantum computation. This article provides a comprehensive exposition of the YBE, bridging its mathematical foundations with its physical applications. We develop constant and spectral-parameter forms, construct explicit solutions, introduce diagrammatic and tensor-network interpretations, and explore the role of the YBE in integrable models, quantum symmetries, and topological phases of matter.

The exact solution of the asymmetric exclusion problem with particles of asrbitrary size: matrix product ansatz

Francisco C. Alcaraz, Matheus J. Lazo

The exact solution of the asymmetric exclusion problem and several of its generalizations is obtained by a matrix product ansatz. Due to the similarity of the master equation and the Schrodinger equation at imaginary times the solution of these problems reduces to the diagonalization of a one dimensional quantum Hamiltonian. Initially, we present the solution of the problem when an arbitrary mixture of molecules, each of then having an arbitrary size (s = 0; 1; 2; ...) in units of lattice spacing, diffuses asymmetrically on the lattice. The solution of the more general problem where we have the diffusion of particles belonging to N distinct classes of particles (c = 1; ... ; N), with hierarchical order and arbitrary sizes, is also presented. Our matrix product ansatz asserts that the amplitudes of an arbitrary eigenfunction of the associated quantum Hamiltonian can be expressed by a product of matrices. The algebraic properties of the matrices defining the ansatz depend on the particular associated Hamiltonian. The absence of contradictions in the algebraic relations defining the algebra ensures the exact integrability of the model. In the case of particles distributed in N > 2 classes, the associativity of this algebra implies the Yang-Baxter relations of the exact integrable model.

Kaleidoscope Yang-Baxter equation for Gaudin’s kaleidoscope models

Wen-Jie Qiu, Xi-Wen Guan, Yi-Cong Yu

Recently, researchers have proposed the Asymmetric Bethe Ansatz method, a theoretical tool that extends the scope of Bethe Ansatz-solvable models by “breaking” partial mirror symmetry via the introduction of a fully reflecting boundary. Within this framework, the integrability conditions which were originally put forward by Gaudin have been further generalized. In this work, building on Gaudin’s generalized kaleidoscope model, we present a detailed investigation of the relationship between dihedral symmetry and its Bethe-type solvability. We identify a scattering-consistency relation, which we refer to as the Kaleidoscope Yang-Baxter Equation (KYBE), and use it to organize the Bethe-type construction in the present two-dimensional setting. Furthermore, we show that the solvability of a model via the coordinate Bethe Ansatz depends not only on the consistency relations satisfied by scattering matrices, but also on the model’s boundary conditions and the symmetry of the subspace where solutions are sought. Through finite-element-based numerical studies, we further confirm that Bethe Ansatz integrability arises in a specific symmetry sector. Finally, by analyzing the algebraic structure of the Kaleidoscope Yang-Baxter Equation, we derive a family of algebraic identities within the framework of quantum torus algebra.
