Abstract

We consider the problem of extracting tripartite entanglement through single local instantaneous interactions of a separable target system A-B-C with a scalar field. We find, non-perturbatively, that tripartite entanglement is easily extracted in this scenario, in strong contrast to bipartite extraction, which is not possible due to a no-go theorem. The tripartite entanglement is of the GHZ-type, and an optimal value of the coupling exists that admits maximal extraction.

Instant extraction of nonperturbative tripartite entanglement

Diana Méndez-Avalos, Kensuke Gallock‐Yoshimura, Laura J. Henderson +1 more

It is shown nonperturbatively that if three initially separable two-level detectors each interact with a quantum scalar field at a single instant of time, then the final state of the detectors can contain genuine tripartite entanglement of the GHZ type between the detectors. This result holds for general spatial configurations of the detectors over a broad range of their spatial separations and intervals between their couplings.

General no-go theorem for entanglement extraction

Petar Simidzija, Robert H. Jonsson, Eduardo Martín-Martínez

We study under what circumstances a separable bipartite system A-B can or cannot become entangled through local interactions with a bilocal entangled source ${\mathrm{S}}_{1}\text{\ensuremath{-}}{\mathrm{S}}_{2}$. We obtain constraints on the general forms of the interaction Hamiltonians coupling A with ${\mathrm{S}}_{1}$ and B with ${\mathrm{S}}_{2}$ necessary for A and B to become entangled. We are able to generalize and provide nonperturbative insight on several previous no-go theorems of entanglement harvesting from quantum fields using these general results. We also discuss the role of communication in the process of entanglement extraction, establishing a distinction between genuine entanglement extraction and communication-assisted entanglement generation.

Tripartite Entanglement Extraction from the Black Hole Vacuum

Ireneo James Membrere, Kensuke Gallock‐Yoshimura, Laura J. Henderson +1 more

Abstract The first investigation of tripartite entanglement harvesting in the vicinity of a black hole is carried out. Working in the context of a static Bañados–Teitelboim–Zanelli (BTZ) black hole spacetime the authors find that it is possible to harvest tripartite entanglement in regions where harvesting of bipartite entanglement is known to be impossible due to intense Hawking radiation. In these situations, it implies that the harvested entanglement is of the Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) type.

Optimal entanglement generation in GHZ-type states

Natalia Giovenale, Hernandez-Martinez, L., A. P. Majtey +1 more

The entanglement production is key for many applications in the realm of quantum information, but so is the identification of processes that allow to create entanglement in a fast and sustained way. Most of the advances in this direction have been circumscribed to bipartite systems only, and the rate of entanglement in multipartite system has been much less explored. Here we contribute to the identification of processes that favor the fastest and sustained generation of tripartite entanglement in a class of 3-qubit GHZ-type states. By considering a three-party interaction Hamiltonian, we analyse the dynamics of the 3-tangle and the entanglement rate to identify the optimal local operations that supplement the Hamiltonian evolution in order to speed-up the generation of three-way entanglement, and to prevent its decay below a predetermined threshold value. The appropriate local operation that maximizes the speed at which a highly-entangled state is reached has the advantage of requiring access to only one of the qubits, yet depends on the actual state of the system. Other universal (state-independent) local operations are found that conform schemes to maintain a sufficiently high amount of 3-tangle. Our results expand our understanding of entanglement rates to multipartite systems, and offer guidance regarding the strategies that improve the efficiency in various quantum information processing tasks.

Entanglement witnesses of four-qubit tripartite separable quantum states*

Miao Xu, Weifeng Zhou, Feng Chen +2 more

Abstract A quantum entangled state is easily disturbed by noise and degenerates into a separable state. Compared to the entanglement with bipartite quantum systems, less progress has been made for the entanglement with multipartite quantum systems. For tripartite separability of a four-qubit system, we propose two entanglement witnesses, each of which corresponds to a necessary condition of tripartite separability. For the four-qubit GHZ state mixed with a W state and white noise, we prove that the necessary conditions of tripartite separability are also sufficient at W states side.
