Abstract

We propose effective generation of entangled and squeezed states in an optoelectromechanical system comprising of a macroscopic LC electrical circuit and an optomechanical system. We obtain enhanced entanglement between optical and LC circuit modes that are coupled via a common mechanical mode in the microwave regime. We achieve this enhancement by a stepwise application of modulation in the laser drive, the voltage drive and the spring constant of the moveable end-mirror. The maximum amount of entanglement is observed to be primarily dependent on the voltage modulation and changes slightly with the parameters of the spring constant. Alongside the generated entanglement, we also study the variation of the maximum degree of squeezing in the mechanical mode for different parameter regimes.

Significant optoelectrical entanglement and mechanical squeezing in a multimodulated optoelectromechanical system

Sampreet Kalita, Saumya Shah, Amarendra K. Sarma

We propose the effective generation of entangled and squeezed states in an optoelectromechanical system comprising a macroscopic $LC$ electrical circuit and an optomechanical system. We notice an enhancement in the optoelectrical entanglement. This boost is obtained by application of modulations in the laser drive amplitude, the voltage drive amplitude, and the spring constant of the movable end mirror. The maximum amount of entanglement is observed to be primarily dependent on the voltage modulation. Alongside the generated entanglement, we also study the variation of squeezing in the mechanical mode for different parameter regimes. The observation of maximum squeezing and maximum entanglement windows for the system, when all three types of modulations are applied, is reported.

Improving macroscopic entanglement with nonlocal mechanical squeezing

Chang‐Sheng Hu, Xinyu Lin, Li-Tuo Shen +4 more

We report an efficient mechanism to generate mechanical entanglement in a two-cascaded cavity optomechanical system with optical parametric amplifiers (OPAs) inside the two coupled cavities. We use the especially tuned OPAs to squeeze the hybrid mode composed of two mechanical modes, leading to strong macroscopic entanglement between the two movable mirrors. The squeezing parameter as well as the effective mechanical damping are both modulated by the OPA gains. The optimal degree of mechanical entanglement therefore depends on the balanced process between coherent hybrid mode squeezing and dissipation engineering. The mechanical entanglement is robust to strong cavity decay, going beyond simply resolved sideband regime, and is resistant to reasonable high thermal noise. The scheme provides an alternative way for generating strong macroscopic entanglement in cascaded optomechanical systems.

Squeezing and entangling two microwave modes of electro-optomechanical systems with two driving lasers

Ang Li, Songlin Yang, Jian-Song Zhang +2 more

Abstract We propose an effective scheme to generate the squeezed vacuum states of two microwave fields, bipartite and genuine tripartite entanglement in a compound four-mode electro-optomechanical system with two driving lasers of different amplitudes. We find that two microwave fields can be squeezed simultaneously when the effective coupling constants between mechanical oscillator and two microwave fields are chosen appropriately. In particular, the squeezing of one microwave mode can be larger than 3 dB even at high temperature. We also find that bipartite and genuine tripartite entanglement can be generated in this system which are robust against thermal fluctuations. Our scheme may have potential applications in quantum information processing and quantum metrology.

Optomechanical Entanglement and Squeezing in Coherent-Feedback-assisted Quadratic Optomechanics

焦亚峰, Ruo-Chen Wang, Jingxue Liu +5 more

Quantum entanglement and squeezing associated with the motions of massive mechanical oscillators play an essential role in both fundamental science and emerging quantum technologies, yet realizing such macroscopic nonclassical states remains a formidable challenge. In this paper, we investigate how to achieve strong optomechanical entanglement and mechanical squeezing in a membrane-embedded cavity optomechanical system incorporating a coherent feedback loop, where the membrane interacts with the cavity mode through both linear and quadratic optomechanical couplings. This hybrid optomechanical architecture offers a flexible tunability of intrinsic system parameters, thereby enabling controlled stiffening or softening of the mechanical mode through adjusting quadratic optomechanical coupling, as well as effective modulation of the cavity decay rate via feedback control. More importantly, the synergistic interplay effect allows for a strategic reconfiguration of the system's stability regime, which in turn permits the presence of significantly enhanced effective optomechanical coupling strengths before entering the unstable regime. Exploiting these unique features, we demonstrate that optomechanical entanglement can be substantially enhanced with positive coupling sign and suitable feedback parameters, while strong mechanical squeezing beyond the 3dB limit is simultaneously achieved over a broad parameter range with negative coupling sign, reaching squeezing degree above 10dB under optimized conditions. Our proposal, establishing an all-optical method for generating highly entangled or squeezed states in cavity optomechanical systems, opens up a new route to explore macroscopic quantum effects and to advance quantum information processing.

Strong squeezing and perfect one-way EPR steering in electro-optomechanical system

Qing-Min Zeng, A‐Peng Liu, Qi Guo

An integrated platform that can generate multiple quantum resources on demand plays a key role in quantum information processing. Here, we study a three-mode electro-optomechanical system in which a mechanical oscillator is coupled to an optical cavity and an LC circuit through radiation pressure and capacitive coupling, respectively. We show that the proposed scheme enables simultaneous strong squeezing of both the microwave and mechanical modes as well as perfect one-way Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen steering between the optical and mechanical modes. By controlling the two-tone driving of the optical cavity and the red-detuned driving of the LC circuit, one can alter the fundamental working mode of the system to generate different quantum states on demand. This work provides an effective multi-functional platform for generating different quantum resources.
