Abstract

The vacuum expectation values of conserved currents play an essential role in the generalized hydrodynamics of integrable quantum field theories. We use analytic continuation to extend these results for the excited state expectation values in a finite volume. Our formulas are valid for diagonally scattering theories and incorporate all finite size corrections.

Exact finite volume expectation values of local operators in excited states

Balázs Pozsgay, István M. Szécsényi, G. Takács

We present a conjecture for the exact expression of finite volume expectation values in excited states in integrable quantum field theories, which is an extension of an earlier conjecture to the case of general diagonal factorized scattering with bound states and a nontrivial bootstrap structure. The conjectured expression is a spectral expansion which uses the exact form factors and the excited state thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz as building blocks. The conjecture is proven for the case of the trace of the energy-moment tensor. Concerning its validity for more general operators, we provide numerical evidence using the truncated conformal space approach. It is found that the expansion fails to be well-defined for small values of the volume in cases when the singularity structure of the TBA equations undergoes a non-trivial rearrangement under some critical value of the volume. Despite these shortcomings, the conjectured expression is expected to be valid for all volumes for most of the excited states, and as an expansion above the critical volume for the rest.

Form factor approach to diagonal finite volume matrix elements in Integrable QFT

Balázs Pozsgay

We derive an exact formula for finite volume excited state mean values of local operators in 1+1 dimensional Integrable QFT with diagonal scattering. Our result is a non-trivial generalization of the LeClair-Mussardo series, which is a form factor expansion for finite size ground state mean values.

On the finite volume expectation values of local operators in the sine-Gordon model

Árpád Hegedűs

In this paper we present sets of linear integral equations which make possible to compute the finite volume expectation values of the trace of the stress energy tensor (Θ) and the U ( 1 ) current ( J μ ) in any eigenstate of the Hamiltonian of the sine-Gordon model. The solution of these equations in the large volume limit allows one to get exact analytical formulas for the expectation values in the Bethe-Yang limit. These analytical formulas are used to test an earlier conjecture for the Bethe-Yang limit of expectation values in non-diagonally scattering theories. The analytical tests have been carried out upto three particle states and gave agreement with the conjectured formula, provided the definition of polarized symmetric diagonal form-factors is modified appropriately. Nevertheless, we point out that our results provide only a partial confirmation of the conjecture, and further investigations are necessary to confirm all of its subtleties. The most important missing piece in the confirmation is the mathematical proof of the finiteness of the symmetric diagonal limit of form-factors in a non-diagonally scattering theory.

Current operators in integrable models: a review

Márton Borsi, Balázs Pozsgay, Levente Pristyák

Abstract We consider the current operators of one-dimensional integrable models. These operators describe the flow of the conserved charges of the models, and they play a central role in generalized hydrodynamics. We present key statements about the mean currents in finite volume and in the thermodynamic limit, and we review the various proofs of the exact formulas. We also present a few new results in this review. New contributions include a computation of the currents of the Heisenberg spin chains using the string hypothesis, and simplified formulas in the thermodynamic limit. We also discuss implications of our results for the asymptotic behavior of dynamical correlation functions.

Current mean values in the XYZ model

Levente Pristyák, Balázs Pozsgay

The XYZ model is an integrable spin chain which has an infinite set of conserved charges, but it lacks a global U(1) U ( 1 ) -symmetry. We consider the current operators, which describe the flow of the conserved quantities in this model. We derive an exact result for the current mean values, valid for any eigenstate in a finite volume with periodic boundary conditions. This result can serve as a basis for studying the transport properties of this model within Generalized Hydrodynamics.
