Entanglement and quantum discord in optically coupled coherent Ising machines

Abstract

We present analytical and numerical simulation results for squeezing, entanglement, and quantum discord in a dissipatively coupled coherent Ising machine (CIM). Both analytical solutions and numerical simulation results, which are obtained with positive-$P$, truncated-Wigner, and truncated-Husimi representations for the density operator, predict the presence of entanglement and quantum discord, below and above the threshold of CIM. The entanglement criteria and quantum discord are evaluated as a function of the dissipative coupling strength relative to the background loss. For coupled two DOPOs, while entanglement disappears as the background loss exceeds the Ising coupling strength, the quantum discord remains finite even with a large linear loss. For one-dimensional lattice of DOPOs, while entanglement disappears for DOPO pair with large distance, quantum discord remains finite.

Noise correlation and success probability in coherent Ising machines

Inui, Yoshitaka, Y. Yamamoto

We compared the noise correlation and the success probability of coherent Ising machines (CIMs) with optical delay-line, measurement feedback, and mean-field couplings. We theoretically studied three metrics for the noise correlations in these CIMs: quantum entanglement, quantum discord, and normalized correlation of canonical coordinates. The success probability was obtained through numerical simulations of truncated stochastic differential equations based on the Wigner distribution function. The results indicate that the success probability is more directly related to the normalized correlation function rather than entanglement or quantum discord.

Scrutinizing entropic uncertainty and quantum discord in an open system under quantum critical environment

Mohammad Reza Pourkarimi, Soroush Haseli, Saeed Haddadi +1 more

Abstract We explore the dynamics of quantum discord (QD) and entropic uncertainty lower bound for a two-qubit system independently coupled to an Ising spin chain. For this model, we obtain the analytic results of QD and uncertainty bound and find that there is a trade-off between them. We also examine the effect of the number of spins and the coupling strength to a transverse field on these two quantum criteria.

Quantum Discord Persistence under dissipative processes

T. Werlang, Simone R. S. Souza, F. F. Fanchini +1 more

We calculate the dissipative dynamics of two-qubit quantum discord under Markovian environments. We analyze various dissipative channels such as dephasing, depolarizing, and generalized amplitude damping, assuming independent perturbation, in which each qubit is coupled to its own channel. Choosing initial conditions that manifest the so-called sudden death of entanglement, we compare the dynamics of entanglement with that of quantum discord. We show that in all cases where entanglement suddenly disappears, quantum discord vanishes only in the asymptotic limit, behaving similarly to individual decoherence of the qubits, even at finite temperatures. Hence, quantum discord is more robust than the entanglement against to decoherence so that quantum algorithms based only on quantum discord correlations may be more robust than those based on entanglement.

Quantum discord of bipartite entangled non-linear coherent states

E. Castro, A. Zambrano, Celso L. Ladera +1 more

Quantum discord measures the fraction of the pair-wise mutual information that is locally inaccessible in a multipartite system. Nonzero quantum discord has interesting and significant applications because although non-zero entanglement guarantees the existence of quantum correlation in a bipartite quantum system, zero entanglement does not guarantee the absence of a quantum correlation. On the other hand, many quantum optics systems can be described as deformed quantum oscillators. In this work, we investigate the quantum discord of bipartite entangled nonlinear coherent states, in the context of the so-called f-deformed coherent states algebra. To calculate the quantum discord, we consider quasi- Werner mixed states bases on bipartite entangled f-deformed coherent states. Two explicit analytic expressions are derived for the quantum discord of two different nonlinear deformed coherent states. The first one considers deformed coherent states obtained as eigenstates of the annihilation deformed operator, and the second one is obtained by using a deformed displacement operator. We compare the quantum discord of those states, when the nonlinear deformation function is either associated with the SU(1,1) coherent states in the Gilmore-Perelomov or Barut-Girardello representations, respectively.

Dissipative Dynamics of Quantum and Classical Correlations for Two-Qubit Under Two-Side and One-Side Decoherence

X. Li, Mao-Fa Fang, Chengzhi Wang +1 more

The dissipative dynamics of classical correlation(CC), quantum discord(QD) and entanglement (QE) of two qubits in two-side and one-side decoherence models are inves- tigated under Markovian environments. We find the sudden change QD as well as CC and sudden death of entanglement (ESD). The results show that QD and QE decay faster with the increasing of squeezing parameter r; the dipole-dipole interaction W under two-side decoherence leads to the oscillation of quantum discord and concurrence for initial non- eigenstates; while in all cases when entanglement suddenly disappears, quantum discord keeps nonzero under same conditions.
