Correlation Properties of the Field in the System of Uncorrelated Two-mode Thermal Field Interacting with V-type Three-level Atom in Kerr Medium Cavity

HE Shu-fang

The correlation properties of the uncorrelated two-mode thermal field during their interaction with V-type three-level atom in the Kerr medium cavity is studied.By numerical calculation and graphic analysis, the influences of the Kerr medium, the detuning, mean photon number and coupling constant on correlation property are discussed. The result shows that;when the V-type three-level atom is interacting with initial uncorrelated two-mode thermal field, the correlation of the two-mode field will take place and the correlation intensity of the fields depends on the coupling strength, the detuning and the Kerr medium;when the two-mode thermal field interacts with nude atom symmetrically, the two-mode field is always positive correlative;with the mean photon number of one mode increasing, the correlation intensity of the field will decrease;the enhancing of Kerr medium and detuning will reduce the correlation intensity of the fields;when the two-mode thermal field interacts with nude atom nonsymmetrically, without loss of generality, supposed g1g2,the property of correlation appears alternately between correlation and anti-correlation;when the mean photon number of one mode remains unchanging and the mean photon number of the other mode increases,anti-correlation will disappear.

Resonance fluorescence of ladder- and triangular-type three-level systems: Continuous coherent photon generation

Kwang Jun Ahn

We theoretically investigate resonance fluorescence of a ladder- and a triangular-type three-level atomic system in the full quantization regime. By solving Heisenberg’s quantum kinetic equations of motion of an electron interacting with photons and two coherent laser fields, we obtain the firstorder electric field correlation function, which corresponds to photoluminescence spectrum. When the single electrons in both systems are resonantly excited by two strong cw-laser fields, in contrast to the ladder-type atomic systems emitting mainly incoherent photons, the triangular-type system shows that continuous coherent photons can be selectively generated from three optical transitions by trapping electronic population inversions and manipulated by changing the transition rates.

Two-channel cavity QED: Stokes plus anti-Stokes emission with a classical pump field

C. K. Law, Liwei Wang, Joseph H. Eberly

We consider a two-channel \ensuremath{\Lambda}-type three-level atom interacting simultaneously with two quantized cavity fields and a classically described cw laser field, all of different frequencies. The effective interactions are of the Raman type, in which the two cavity fields are regarded as Stokes and anti-Stokes modes, and the classical field acts as the pump mode, so that both the pump-Stokes and the pump--anti-Stokes transitions are included. We present the analytic solution of the system evolution operator. We also study the time dependence of the atomic inversion and the statistical properties of the cavity fields. We show that strongly correlated photons can be generated in our model.
