We propose a feasible scheme to realize all-optical photon transmission switching in a passiveactive optomechanical system, consisting of one ordinary passive cavity, one active cavity and one common movable membrane oscillator of perfect reflection, driven by two strong control fields and two weak probe fields symmetrically. By means of the gain effect of the active cavity, many novel and valuable phenomena arise, such as frequency-independent perfect reflection (FIPR) first proposed in this paper, adjustable photon bidirectional transmission, phase-dependent non-reciprocity and so on. The relevant parameters used for controlling the all-optical switching are precisely tunable by adjusting the strengths of control fields and the relative phase of probe fields. Furthermore, tunable fast and slow light can be realized in our system by accurately adjusting relevant parameters which is readily and feasible in experiments. These novel phenomena originate from the effective optomechanical coupling and the gain effect provide a promising platform for photonic devices, quantum network node fabrication and quantum information process (QIP).

We propose a feasible and flexible scheme to realize all-optical photon switching, router and amplifier by using a passive-active optomechanical system consisting of a passive cavity, an active cavity and a common movable membrane oscillator. Due to the cooperation between the gain effect of the active cavity and the interference effect between the probe fields, some novel phenomena arise, such as the frequency-independent perfect reflection first proposed in this paper, controllable photon routing, tunable fast and slow lights and so on. Based on the results, a photon switching of absorption-amplification and fast-slow-light transitions, and a photon router with controllable direction and intensity can be realized by adjusting relevant parameters such as the strengths of control fields and the relative phase between probe fields. Such a scheme may provide a promising platform for controllable photon transport and photonic device fabrication.
In recent years, due to the rapid development of nano science and advanced semiconductor technology, one is able to observe more significant quantum optomechanical effects as optomechanical system turns smaller in size. Optomechanically induced transparency, fast and slow light, optical storage as well as other quantum optical and nonlinear optical effects have become the focus of research. On the other hand, the optomechanical systems coupled to other small subsystems (such as atoms, quantum dots, single electron transistors, etc.) also attract great attention in research. This is because the coupling system has not only provided more degrees of freedom for quantum manipulation, but also opened up more channels for classical and quantum information transfer. In this paper we study the optomechanically induced transparency and fast/slow light phase control in atom-assisted optomechanical cavity. Unlike the traditional systems, in this model the mechanical resonator is directly driven by a weak auxiliary driving field. We therefore find that with the change of amplitude ratio and phase difference between the auxiliary driving field and the probe field, the absorption and dispersion properties of the whole system and the group delay time vary accordingly. In the absence of auxiliary field, we observe the spectral features of the hybrid electromagnetically induced transparency and optomechanically induced transparency (OMIT) in an atom-cavity-oscillator tripartite optomechanical system. When there exists no phase difference between the auxiliary field and the probe field, we find that the membrane resonance absorption is enhanced with the increase of auxiliary field strength at resonance, causing the the optomechanically induced transparency to be suppressed, and therefore we can modify the amplitude of auxiliary field to control the depth of the OMIT window. When keeping amplitude ratio between the auxiliary field and the probe field unchanged, the modification of the phase difference between the auxiliary field and the probe field directly affects the we can not only realize the manipulation of OMIT window depth, but also control the transformation of tunable optical switch among "absorption", "transparent" and "gain" of the system. Therefore, through changing the phase of auxiliary field and probe field, we can not only realize the manipulation of OMIT window depth, but also control the transformation of tunable optical switch among "absorption" , "transparent" and "gain". In the meantime, we find that the system’s group delay time varies periodically with the change of phase difference. It is worth noting that by adjusting the phase difference and the atomic number, we can not only change the magnitude of the group delay, but also realize the conversion between slow light and fast light effect.
With the rapid development of nano-physics and quantum optics, optico-mechanical coupling system is developing toward the miniaturization and lightweight. The physical characteristics of optical cavity and applications of optic-mechanical devices have received much attention. In this paper, a generalized three-mode cavity optico-mechanical system is presented, the steady-state responses of the system to the characteristics of weak detection of light absorption and dispersion in several different coherent driving modes are studied. Situated in the middle of system is a portable total reflection mechanical oscillator with a reflectance of 100%, and located on each side is a fixed optical cavity mirror with partial transmittance, Three-mode cavity optical mechanical system consists of fixed-mirror, removable-vibrator, fixed-mirror structure. in which the two optical cavities are coupled by coupling a stronger control field and weak probe light with the same mechanical oscillator. Analysis and numerical results show that under the mechanism with different parameters, due to nonlinear effect of pressure, in the three-mode cavity optical mechanical system, there appear some interesting quantum coherent phenomena such as coherent perfect absorption, coherent perfect transmission and coherent perfect synthesis. When coherent perfect absorption occurs, the mutual conversion between input signal power full-field energies and oscillator vibration of internal coherence can be realized, and the law of conservation of energy is satisfied. When relaxation rate due to mechanical oscillator is very small, the coherent perfect transmission is completely transmitted from the system side of the input field to the other side in the case of no loss of energy. And mechanical relaxation rate of the oscillator approaches to zero in the middle, which can ensure that the perfect transmission of the detection field takes place on one side, and the field total reflection and coherent perfect synthesis happen on the other side of. In addition, we alsofind that the adjustment of coupling between cavity and cavity can change the intensity of the probe field of quantum coherent control thereby realizing that the output of the detection field is transformed between coherent perfect absorption and coherence transmission; through simple phase modulation the output direction and input direction of detection field for left cavity-right cavity can swap mutually. So, these dynamic controls in quantum information networks can be used to construct some optical devices with special functions, such as photon switch, photo router, photon exchange machine, etc.
Goos-Hänchen Shift in PT-Symmetric and Passive Cavity Optomechanical Systems
We theoretically investigate the control of the Goos-Hänchen shift (GHS) of a reflected weak probe field in both parity-time (PT)-symmetric and conventional optomechanical systems. The proposed scheme consists of a single optomechanical platform where a passive optical cavity is coupled to an active mechanical resonator, in contrast to standard passive-passive configurations. Analysis of the eigenfrequency spectrum reveals the emergence of an exceptional point under balanced gain-loss conditions at a tunable effective optomechanical coupling strength. Using the transfer-matrix method combined with stationary-phase analysis, we examine the GHS across broken and unbroken PT phases and compare it with that in the conventional system. The lateral shift exhibits strong phase dependence: it is markedly enhanced in the unbroken regime relative to both the broken phase and the passive configuration. We further show that the GHS can be actively tuned through the cavity detuning and the intracavity medium length. These results provide a controlled means for manipulating beam shifts in optomechanical systems and suggest pathways toward tunable photonic components and precision optical sensing.
We present a generalized multi-mode cavity optomechanical system, where two cavity modes with strong control fields and weak signal fields are coupled to a common mechanical resonator. The weak input signal fields will be entirely absorbed by the system without generating any energy output from each of the cavity modes termed coherent perfect absorption (CPA), and the two cavity modes and mechanical mode will share the input probe fields energy when CPA occurs under parameter regimes. With changing the parameter conditions, a weak input signal field will transmit from one cavity to the other cavity without undergoing any energy loss termed coherent perfect transmission (CPT). The above phenomena are dependent on the coupling strength between the two cavity modes in this optomechanical system. The origin and conditions that enable these phenomena to achieve are analyzed, and potential applications in quantum information may be realized in all-optical domain based on such phenomena.
We explain the probe field transmission spectrum under the influence of a strong pump field in a hybrid optomechanical system, composed of an optical cavity, a mechanical resonator, and a two-level atom. We show fast (superluminal) and slow (subluminal) light effects of the transmitted probe field in the hybrid system for suitable parametric regimes. For the experimental accessible domain, we find that the fast light effect obtained for the single optomechanical coupling can further be enhanced with the additional atom-field coupling in the hybrid system. Furthermore, we report the existence of a tunable switch from fast to slow light by adjusting the atomic detuning with the anti-Stokes and Stokes sidebands, respectively, as ${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}}_{a}=+{\ensuremath{\omega}}_{m}$ and $\ensuremath{-}{\ensuremath{\omega}}_{m}$. The reported characteristics are realizable in state-of-the-art laboratory experiments.
