Abstract

We consider the triangular kagome XXZ-Ising model (TKL XXZ-Ising model) formed by inserting small triangles ("a-trimers") with XXZ spin-1 inside the triangles of the kagome lattice ("b-trimers"). It is a mixed spin system and can be solved exactly by transforming into the kagome lattice with the general transformation method for decorated spin systems. In the absence of an external field, we integrate out the quantum spins of the a-trimers and map the TKL model to the kagome Ising model exactly. We obtain the full phase diagram and their zero-temperature entropies (e.g., s_{max}=5.48895 per unit cell is given for the phase with the maximum entropy). When an external field is applied, 20 phases are found due to the quantum fluctuations of a-trimers. Moreover, the high spins in the a-trimers can lead to a stable quantized growth of the magnetization process in the Heisenberg limit.

Dimers on the triangular kagome lattice

Yen Lee Loh, Dao‐Xin Yao, E. W. Carlson

We derive exact results for close-packed dimers on the triangular kagome lattice (TKL), formed by inserting triangles into the triangles of the kagome lattice. Because the TKL is a nonbipartite lattice, dimer-dimer correlations are short ranged so that the ground state at the Rokhsar-Kivelson (RK) point of the corresponding quantum dimer model on the same lattice is a short-ranged spin liquid. Using the Pfaffian method, we derive an exact form for the free energy, and we find that the entropy is $\frac{1}{3}\text{ln}\text{ }2$ per site, regardless of the weights of the bonds. The occupation probability of every bond is $\frac{1}{4}$ in the case of equal weights on every bond. Similar to the case of lattices formed by corner-sharing triangles (such as the kagome and squagome lattices), we find that the dimer-dimer correlation function is identically zero beyond a certain (short) distance. We find in addition that monomers are deconfined on the TKL, indicating that there is a short-ranged spin liquid phase at the RK point. We also find exact results for the ground-state energy of the classical Heisenberg model. The ground state can be ferromagnetic, ferrimagnetic, locally coplanar, or locally canted, depending on the couplings. From the dimer model and the classical spin model, we derive upper bounds on the ground-state energy of the quantum Heisenberg model on the TKL.

Plaquette-triplon analysis of magnetic disorder and order in a trimerized spin-1 kagome Heisenberg antiferromagnet

Pratyay Ghosh, Akhilesh Kumar Verma, Brijesh Kumar

A spin-1 Heisenberg model on trimerized kagome lattice is studied by doing a low-energy bosonic theory in terms of plaquette triplons defined on its triangular unit cells. The model considered has an intratriangle antiferromagnetic exchange interaction $J$ (set to 1) and two intertriangle couplings ${J}^{\ensuremath{'}}>0$ (nearest neighbor) and ${J}^{\ensuremath{''}}$ (next nearest neighbor; of both signs). The triplon analysis performed on this model investigates the stability of the trimerized singlet ground state (which is exact in the absence of intertriangle couplings) in the ${J}^{\ensuremath{'}}\ensuremath{-}{J}^{\ensuremath{''}}$ plane. It gives a quantum phase diagram that has two gapless antiferromagnetically ordered phases separated by the spin-gapped trimerized singlet phase. The trimerized singlet ground state is found to be stable on ${J}^{\ensuremath{''}}=0$ line (the nearest-neighbor case), and on both sides of it for ${J}^{\ensuremath{''}}\ensuremath{\ne}0$, in an extended region bounded by the critical lines of transition to the gapless antiferromagnetic phases. The gapless phase in the negative ${J}^{\ensuremath{''}}$ region has a coplanar ${120}^{\ensuremath{\circ}}$ antiferromagnetic order with $\sqrt{3}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}\sqrt{3}$ structure. In this phase, all the magnetic moments are of equal length, and the angle between any two of them on a triangle is exactly ${120}^{\ensuremath{\circ}}$. The magnetic lattice in this case has a unit cell consisting of three triangles. The other gapless phase, in the positive ${J}^{\ensuremath{''}}$ region, is found to exhibit a different coplanar antiferromagnetic order with ordering wave vector $\mathbf{q}=(0,0)$. Here, two magnetic moments in a triangle are of the same magnitude, but shorter than the third. While the angle between two short moments is ${120}^{\ensuremath{\circ}}\ensuremath{-}2\ensuremath{\delta}$, it is ${120}^{\ensuremath{\circ}}+\ensuremath{\delta}$ between a short and the long one. Only when ${J}^{\ensuremath{''}}={J}^{\ensuremath{'}}$, their magnitudes become equal and the relative angles ${120}^{\ensuremath{\circ}}$. The magnetic lattice in this $\mathbf{q}=(0,0)$ phase has the translational symmetry of the kagome lattice with triangular unit cells of reduced (isosceles) symmetry. This reduction in the point-group symmetry is found to show up as a difference in the intensities of certain Bragg peaks, whose ratio ${I}_{(1,0)}/{I}_{(0,1)}=4{sin}^{2}(\frac{\ensuremath{\pi}}{6}+\ensuremath{\delta})$ presents an experimental measure of the deviation $\ensuremath{\delta}$ from the ${120}^{\ensuremath{\circ}}$ order.

Nature of intermediate magnetization plateaus of a spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on a triangulated Husimi lattice resembling a triangulated kagome lattice

Jozef Strečka, Cesur Ekiz

The spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on a triangulated Husimi lattice is exactly solved in a magnetic field within the framework of the generalized star-triangle transformation and the method of exact recursion relations. The generalized star-triangle transformation establishes an exact mapping correspondence with the effective spin-1/2 Ising model on a triangular Husimi lattice with a temperature-dependent field, pair and triplet interactions, which is subsequently rigorously treated by making use of exact recursion relations. The ground-state phase diagram of a spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on a triangulated Husimi lattice, which bears a close resemblance with a triangulated kagomé lattice, involves, in total, two classical and three quantum ground states manifested in respective low-temperature magnetization curves as intermediate plateaus at 1/9, 1/3, and 5/9 of the saturation magnetization. It is verified that the fractional magnetization plateaus of quantum nature have character of either dimerized or trimerized ground states. A low-temperature magnetization curve of the spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on a triangulated Husimi lattice resembling a triangulated kagome lattice may exhibit either no intermediate plateau, a single 1/3 plateau, a single 5/9 plateau, or a sequence of 1/9, 1/3, and 5/9 plateaus depending on a character and relative size of two considered coupling constants.

Exact results for Ising models on the triangular Kagomé lattice

Junjuan Zheng, Gang Sun

A two-dimensional Ising model on a particular topological structure, a ``triangles-in-triangles'' Kagom\'e structure, which is called a triangular-Kagom\'e lattice, is investigated. In this model, we consider two interaction parameters ${J}_{aa}$ and ${J}_{ab}$, corresponding to the interactions among spins on the inner sites and between spins on the inner and vertex sites of the triangular in the Kagom\'e lattice, respectively. By summing over all spins at inner sites in the partition function, we arrive at the partition function of the Kagom\'e lattice. The effective interaction of the corresponding Kagom\'e lattice is always ferromagnetic, even for antiferromagnetic ${J}_{aa}$. The critical properties of the system depend only on ${J}_{aa}∕\ensuremath{\mid}{J}_{ab}\ensuremath{\mid}$. When ${J}_{aa}∕\ensuremath{\mid}{J}_{ab}\ensuremath{\mid}>\ensuremath{-}1$, the system has long range order at low temperature. However, when ${J}_{aa}∕\ensuremath{\mid}{J}_{ab}\ensuremath{\mid}<\ensuremath{-}1$, the partition function of the triangular-Kagom\'e lattice can be related to that of the Kagom\'e lattice with effective interaction at a temperature higher than its critical temperature. Therefore, the system will be in paramagnetic phase at all temperatures for ${J}_{aa}∕\ensuremath{\mid}{J}_{ab}\ensuremath{\mid}<\ensuremath{-}1$. The phase diagram for ${J}_{aa}∕\ensuremath{\mid}{J}_{ab}\ensuremath{\mid}$ is given exactly.

Magnetic properties and thermal entanglement on a triangulated Kagomé lattice

N.S. Ananikian, L. Ananikyan, Levon Chakhmakhchyan +1 more

The magnetic and entanglement thermal (equilibrium) properties in spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on a triangulated Kagome lattice are analyzed by means of variational mean-field like treatment based on Gibbs-Bogoliubov inequality. Because of the separable character of Ising-type exchange interactions between the Heisenberg trimers the calculation of quantum entanglement in a self-consistent field can be performed for each of the trimers individually. The concurrence in terms of three qubit isotropic Heisenberg model in effective Ising field is non-zero even in the absence of a magnetic field. The magnetic and entanglement properties exhibit common (plateau and peak) features observable via (antferromagnetic) coupling constant and external magnetic field. The critical temperature for the phase transition and threshold temperature for concurrence coincide in the case of antiferromagnetic coupling between qubits. The existence of entangled and disentangled phases in saturated and frustrated phases is established.

Thermal Entanglement and Critical Behavior of Magnetic Properties on a Triangulated Kagomé Lattice

N.S. Ananikian, L. Ananikyan, Levon Chakhmakhchyan +1 more

The equilibrium magnetic and entanglement properties in a spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on a triangulated Kagomé lattice are analyzed by means of the effective field for the Gibbs-Bogoliubov inequality. The calculation is reduced to decoupled individual (clusters) trimers due to the separable character of the Ising-type exchange interactions between the Heisenberg trimers. The concurrence in terms of the three qubit isotropic Heisenberg model in the effective Ising field in the absence of a magnetic field is non-zero. The magnetic and entanglement properties exhibit common (plateau, peak) features driven by a magnetic field and (antiferromagnetic) exchange interaction. The (quantum) entangled and non-entangled phases can be exploited as a useful tool for signalling the quantum phase transitions and crossovers at finite temperatures. The critical temperature of order-disorder coincides with the threshold temperature of thermal entanglement.
