Abstract

Employing the master equation for a three-level laser driven by coherent light and coupled to a squeezed vacuum reservoir, we obtain stochastic differential equations associated with the normal ordering. Using the solutions of the stochastic differential equations, we calculate the quadrature variance, the squeezing spectrum, the mean photon number, and the variance of the photon number. It turns out that the degree of squeezing increases with the linear gain coefficient or the squeeze parameter. It is also found that the driving coherent light decreases the mean photon number.

Quantum properties of nondegenerate three-level laser coupled vacuum reservoir

Menisha Alemu

In this paper, we have studied the squeezing and statistical properties of the light produced by a three-level laser whose cavity contains a parametric amplifier, and with the cavity mode driven by coherent light and coupled to a vacuum reservoir. We obtain stochastic differential equations associated with the normal ordering using the pertinent master equation. By making use of the solutions to the resulting differential equations, we calculate the quadrature variances. We also determine the mean and variance of the photon number for the cavity mode by employing the Q function. It is found that the parametric amplifier increases the degree of squeezing, while the driving coherent light does not have any effect on the squeezing. Moreover, the mean photon number increases considerably due to the driving coherent light and the parametric amplifier.

Entanglement Correlation from a Non-degenerate Three-Level Laser with a Parametric Amplifier and Coupled to Vacuum Reservoir

Negasa Belay, Edobus Mosisa, Chali Edosa

The quantum properties of a non-degenerate three-level laser with the parametric amplifier and coupled to a thermal reservoir are thoroughly analyzed with the use of the pertinent master equation and stochastic differential equations associated with the normal ordering. Applying solutions of resulting differential equations, quadrature variance, the mean and variance of photon number, the photon number correlation are calculated. However, the two-mode driving light has no effect on the squeezing properties of the cavity modes. Employing the same solutions, one can also obtain anti normally ordered characteristic function defined in the Heisenberg picture. For a linear gain coefficient of (A = 100), for a cavity damping constant of K= 0:8, μ = 0.16 and for thermal reservoir nth = 0, the maximum intra cavity photon entanglement is found at steady state and at threshold to be 70%.

Driven degenerate three-level cascade laser

Sintayehu Tesfa

We analyze a degenerate three-level cascade laser coupled to an external coherent light via one of the coupler mirrors and vacuum reservoir in the other, employing the stochastic differential equation associated with the normal ordering. We study the squeezing properties and also calculate the mean photon number of the cavity radiation. It turns out that the generated light exhibits up to 98.3% squeezing under certain conditions pertaining to the initial preparation of the superposition and the amplitude of the driving radiation. Moreover, the mean photon number is found to be large where there is a better squeezing. Hence it is believed that the system under consideration can generate an intense squeezed light.

Quantum Properties of Coherently Driven Three-Level Atom Coupled to Vacuum Reservoir

Bessie Mengesha

A three-level laser with an open cavity and a two-mode vacuum reservoir is explored for its quantum properties. Our investigation begins with a normalized order of the noise operators associated with the vacuum reservoir. The master equation and linear operators' equations of motion are used to determine the equations of evolution of the atomic operators' expectation values. The equation of motion answers are then used to calculate the mean photon number, photon number variance, and quadrature variance for single–mode cavity light and two–mode cavity light. As a result, for γ=0, the quadrature variance of light mode a is greater than the mean photon number for two-mode cavity light. As a result, for the two-mode cavity light, the maximum quadrature squeezing is 43.42 percent.

We analyze the squeezing and statistical properties of a degenerate three-level atom coupled to a coherent light and vacuum reservoir. In the other way, employing the Heseinberg and Quantum Langevin equation associated with the normal ordering noise operator, we study the squeezing properties, power spectrum, variance and also calculate the mean photon number of the cavity mode. It turns out that the generated light exhibits squeezing under certain conditions.
