Abstract

We analyze a degenerate three-level cascade laser coupled to an external coherent light via one of the coupler mirrors and vacuum reservoir in the other, employing the stochastic differential equation associated with the normal ordering. We study the squeezing properties and also calculate the mean photon number of the cavity radiation. It turns out that the generated light exhibits up to 98.3% squeezing under certain conditions pertaining to the initial preparation of the superposition and the amplitude of the driving radiation. Moreover, the mean photon number is found to be large where there is a better squeezing. Hence it is believed that the system under consideration can generate an intense squeezed light.

Entanglement amplification in a nondegenerate three-level cascade laser

Sintayehu Tesfa

We analyze a nondegenerate three-level cascade laser coupled to a two-mode vacuum reservoir employing the stochastic differential equations associated with the normal ordering. We study the squeezing properties and entanglement amplification of the cavity radiation. We also calculate the correlation of the photon numbers and the fluctuations of the intensity difference. It turns out that the generated light exhibits a two-mode squeezing and entanglement when initially there are more atoms in the lower level. Moreover, a strong correlation between photon numbers along with a significant fluctuation in the intensity difference is found.

A degenerate three-level laser coupled to a squeezed vacuum reservoir

Dawit Hiluf Hailu, Kassahun, Fesseha

Employing the master equation for a three-level laser driven by coherent light and coupled to a squeezed vacuum reservoir, we obtain stochastic differential equations associated with the normal ordering. Using the solutions of the stochastic differential equations, we calculate the quadrature variance, the squeezing spectrum, the mean photon number, and the variance of the photon number. It turns out that the degree of squeezing increases with the linear gain coefficient or the squeeze parameter. It is also found that the driving coherent light decreases the mean photon number.

Enhancement of Squeezing and Entanglement in a Non-Degenerate Three-Level Cascade Laser with Coherently Driven Cavity

Tamirat Abebe

We study a nondegenerate three-level cascade laser coupled to a two-mode vacuum reservoir, by employing the stochastic differential equations associated with the normal ordering. The amplification of the properties of squeezing and entanglement of the cavity light is investigated. We have found that there is an entanglement between the states of the light generated in the cavity, due to the strong correlation of the light emitted, when the atom decays from the top level to the bottom level via the intermediate one. We have also obtained that the two cavity modes are strongly entangled, and the degree of entanglement is directly related to the two-mode squeezing.

Yosef Terefe

We analyze the squeezing and statistical properties of a degenerate three-level atom coupled to a coherent light and vacuum reservoir. In the other way, employing the Heseinberg and Quantum Langevin equation associated with the normal ordering noise operator, we study the squeezing properties, power spectrum, variance and also calculate the mean photon number of the cavity mode. It turns out that the generated light exhibits squeezing under certain conditions.

Enhanced Squeezing and Entanglement in Nondegenerate Three-Level Laser Coupled to Squeezed Vacuum Reservoir

Ebisa Mosisa

Squeezing and entanglement of a two-mode cascade laser, produced by a three-level atom which is initially prepared by a coherent superposition of the top and bottom levels then injected into a cavity coupled to a two-mode squeezed vacuum reservoir is discussed. I obtain stochastic differential equations associated with the normal ordering using the pertinent master equation. Making use of the solutions of the resulting differential equations, we determined the mean photon number for the cavity mode and their correlation, EPR variables, smallest eigenvalue of the symplectic matrix, intensity difference fluctuation, and photon number correlation. It is found that the squeezed vacuum reservoir increases the degree of the statistical and nonclassical features of light produced by the system. Furthermore, using the criteria developed by logarithm negativity and Hillery-Zubairy criteria, the quantum entanglement of the cavity mode is quantified. It is found that the degree of the entanglement for the system under consideration increases with the squeezing parameter of the squeezed vacuum reservoir.

Quantum properties of nondegenerate three-level laser coupled vacuum reservoir

Menisha Alemu

In this paper, we have studied the squeezing and statistical properties of the light produced by a three-level laser whose cavity contains a parametric amplifier, and with the cavity mode driven by coherent light and coupled to a vacuum reservoir. We obtain stochastic differential equations associated with the normal ordering using the pertinent master equation. By making use of the solutions to the resulting differential equations, we calculate the quadrature variances. We also determine the mean and variance of the photon number for the cavity mode by employing the Q function. It is found that the parametric amplifier increases the degree of squeezing, while the driving coherent light does not have any effect on the squeezing. Moreover, the mean photon number increases considerably due to the driving coherent light and the parametric amplifier.
