Abstract

We study the correlation dynamics of a system composed of arbitrary numbers of qutrits interacting with a common environment. Initially, the system is assumed to be in a low dimensional subspace of the Hamiltonian called "decoherence-free subspace". Environment induced quantum entanglement and discord is calculated between pair of qutrits of the system as measures of non-classical correlations. Finally the steady state distribution of entanglement and discord is determined with respect to the total number of qutrits of the system.

Dynamics of the Quantum Correlation of Qubits Dissipating into a Common Environment

Xiao-San Ma, Ying Qiao, Xiaodong Liu +1 more

In this paper, we have investigated the dynamics of the quantum correlation between two qubits of a system composed of an arbitrary number of qubits dissipating into a common environment. Our results imply that, when the initial state of the system contains one excitation, the quantum correlation of the quantum discord and the entanglement of formation can be generated between two qubits which have no interaction with each other but are interacting with a common environment. From our analysis, we find that the dynamics of the quantum discord and the entanglement of formation depends not only on the scaled time but also on the size of the system. The larger the size of the system is, the less the quantum discord and the entanglement of formation is generated. By using a comparison between the quantum discord and the entanglement of formation, we find that the quantum discord is more robust to the size of the system than the entanglement of formation is, in the sense that the former decreases more slowly with an increase of the size of the system than the latter does. In addition, the case of the initial state with two excitations is discussed.

Quantum correlation measurements for two qubits in a common squeezed bath

M. Angeles Gallego, Miguel Orszag

"or many years the entangled systems have been associated to the quantum world, while the separable systems with the classical world. Recently quantum discord showed that some separable states posses quantum correlation even when the entanglement is zero. In this work, we compare different features of quantum discord and entanglement of formation for two qubits in a common squeezed reservoir. We relate the quantum correlations with the “distance” of our initial condition from the decoherence free subspace where the system is not affected by environment. While for some initial conditions, the entanglement presents sudden death and revival, quantum discord does not. Still, is not clear the relation between these two measurements of “quantumness”."

Quantum discord in open quantum systems

Jin‐Shi Xu, Chuan‐Feng Li

Open quantum systems have attracted great attention, since inevitable coupling between quantum systems and their environment greatly affects the features of interest of these systems. Quantum discord, is a measure of the total nonclassical correlation in a quantum system that includes, but is not exclusive to, the distinct property of quantum entanglement. Quantum discord can exist in separated quantum states and plays an important role in many fundamental physics problems and practical quantum information tasks. There have been numerous investigations on quantum discord and its counterpart classical correlation. This short review focuses on highlighting the system-environment dynamics of two-qubit quantum discord and the influence of initial system-environment correlations on the dynamics of open quantum systems. The external control effect on the dynamics of open quantum systems are involved. Several related experimental works are discussed.

Entanglement dynamic of arbitrary number qubit in the open quantum systems

Zahra Bakhshi, E. Morsheddoost, Zeynali, A.

We study the entanglement dynamics of multi-qubit systems coupled to a common dissipative environment, focusing on systems with one or two initially excited qubits. Using the Lindblad master equation, we derive the time evolution of the density matrix and analyze the entanglement between qubit pairs via the concurrence measure. The solution method involves applying the Lindblad super-operator to the initial density matrix, generating a subspace of non-duplicate states. We extend our analysis to $n$-qubit systems, including three-qubit and four-qubit configurations, and explore the effects of thermal noise on entanglement dynamics. Our results demonstrate how initial conditions, system size, and environmental interactions shape entanglement, providing valuable insights for quantum information processing applications.

Effects of static noise on the dynamics of quantum correlations for a system of three qubits

Lionel Tenemeza Kenfack, Tchoffo Martin, Fouokeng Georges Collince +1 more

Correlations in open quantum systems exhibit peculiar phenomena under the effect of various sources of noise. Here, we investigate the dynamics of entanglement and quantum discord (QD) for three noninteracting qubits coupled with a classical environmental static noise characterized by an external random field. Two initial entangled states of the system are examined, namely, the GHZ- and [Formula: see text]-type states. The system-environment interaction is here analyzed in three different configurations, namely, independent, mixed and common environments. We find that the dynamics of quantum correlations are strongly affected by the type of system-environment interaction and the purity of the initial entangled state. Indeed, depending on the type of interaction and the value of the purity of the initial state, peculiar phenomena such as sudden death, revivals and long-time survival of quantum correlations are observed. On the other hand, our results clearly show that quantum correlations initially present in the [Formula: see text]-type states are less robust than those of the GHZ-type states. Furthermore, we find that the long-time survival of entanglement can be detected by means of the suitable entanglement witnesses.
