Abstract

Beam splitter mediated entanglement of nonlinear photon-added coherent states was studied by Honarasa, Bagheri and Gharaati [1]. We believe that this work contains errors in numerical computations of linear entropy and Mandel parameter which lead to wrong conclusions. We point out the possible errors and describe the necessary corrections. The conclusions based on our arguments are in complete agreement with previously published literature.

Beam splitter entangler for nonlinear bosonic fields

Some years ago Katriel and Solomon [1] described applications to the characterization of the photon statistics of nonideal lasers, nonclassical light, and deformed photon states using f -deformed coherent states. In this letter, we study the effect of a beam splitter on these nonlinear coherent states. We find that these states are useful for generating quantum entanglement as the deformation parameter gets farther form the unity and for strong input field regimes. The results are confirmed through the Werhl entropy.

Maximal entanglement from photon-added nonlinear coherent states via unitary beam splitters

K. Berrada

In this paper, we construct photon-added f -deformed coherent states (PA f -DCSs) for nonlinear bosonic fields by discussing Klauder's minimal set of conditions required to obtain coherent states. Using this set of nonlinear states, we propose a very useful scheme for generating the maximal amount of entanglement via unitary beam splitters for different strength regimes of the input field α, deformation q and excitation number m . Therefore, the possibility to create highly entangled states and to control the entanglement is proposed. Moreover, the condition for a maximal and separable output beam state is obtained. Finally, we examine the statistical properties of the PA f -DCSs through the Mandel parameter and exploit a connection between this quantity and the behavior variation of the output state entanglement. Our result may open new perspectives in different tasks of quantum information processing.

Quantum Entanglement of Photon-Added Coherent States on a Beam Splitter

Dmitry N. Makarov

The study of new quantum states and methods for their generation is an important part of the current development of quantum technologies. One of the most important characteristics of such states is their quantum entanglement. Photon-added coherent states, which are defined as $${\text{|}}\alpha ,n\rangle = {{\mathcal{N}}_{n}}{{({{\hat {a}}^{\dag }})}^{n}}{\text{|}}\alpha \rangle $$ , where $${{\mathcal{N}}_{n}}$$ is the normalization constant, $${\text{|}}\alpha \rangle $$ is the coherent state, $${{\hat {a}}^{\dag }}$$ is the creation operator, and n is the number of added photons, have been introduced relatively recently. The quantum entanglement of such states passing through a beam splitter has been considered for the first time in this work. A simple analytical representation of the wavefunction at the outputs of the beam splitter has been found and the quantum entanglement of the resulting two-qubit states has been considered. It has been shown that new quantum states have good prospects for their use in quantum technologies.
