Abstract

We study the entanglement entropy of fermion fields in BTZ black hole space-time and calculate prefactor of the leading and subleading terms and logarithmic divergence term of the entropy using the discretized model. The leading term is the standard Bekenstein-Hawking area law and subleading term corresponds to first quantum corrections in black hole entropy. We also investigate the corrections to entanglement entropy for massive fermion fields in BTZ space-time. The mass term does not affect the area law.

Entanglement Entropy for the Charged BTZ Black Hole

Alexis Larrañaga

Using the AdS/CFT correspondence we calculate the explicit form of the entanglement entropy for the charged BTZ black hole. The leading term in the large temperature expansion of the entropy function for this black hole reproduces its Bekenstein-Hawking entropy and the subleading term, representing the first corrections due to quantum entanglement, behaves as a logarithm of the BH entropy.

Logarithmic corrections to the entropy of scalar field in BTZ black hole spacetime

Dharm Veer Singh, Shobhit Sachan

The entanglement entropy correlates two quantum subsystems which are part of a larger system. A logarithmic divergence term present in the entanglement entropy is universal in nature and directly proportional to the conformal anomaly. We study this logarithmic divergence term of entropy for massive scalar field in [Formula: see text] dimensions by applying numerical techniques to entanglement entropy approach. This (2+1)-dimensional massive theory can be obtained from the (3+1)-dimensional massless scalar field via dimensional reduction. We also calculated mass corrections to entanglement entropy for scalar field. Finally, we observe that the area law contribution to the entanglement entropy is not affected by this mass term and the universal quantities depend upon the basic properties of the system.

Power law corrections to BTZ black hole entropy

Dharm Veer Singh

We study the quantum scalar field in the background of BTZ black hole and evaluate the entanglement entropy of the nonvacuum states. The entropy is proportional to the area of event horizon for the ground state, but the area law is violated in the case of nonvacuum states (first excited state and mixed states) and the corrections scale as power law.

Thermodynamics of BTZ black hole and entanglement entropy

Dharm Veer Singh, Sanjay Siwach

The BTZ black Hole is (2+1) dimensional black hole solution asymptotic to anti-de-Sitter space-time. We study the discretized quantum scalar fields in background of non-rotating BTZ black hole space-time and construct the entanglement thermodynamics for massless scalar field. The behavior of the entanglement energy is understood by red shift factor caused by the curved background. The entanglement thermodynamics is compared with the black hole thermodynamics.

How are the degree of freedom responsible for entropy in BTZ spacetime

Dharm Veer Singh, Shobhit Sachan

We are using entanglement entropy approach to study how the entropy depends upon the location of degrees of freedom near and far from the horizon. We consider quantum fields in the vicinity of black holes space-time, the entropy receives log- arithmic and power law corrections in area law. The power law corrections arises when the fields are in excited or mixed state (superposition of ground and excited state)a but logarithmic corrections are present in ground state. In this paper, we try to understand physically the deviation from the area law for the excited and mixed state. We show that the degrees of freedom near to the horizon contribute the total entropy, but when degrees of freedom far away from the horizon are more significant for excited/mixed state instead of ground state.

Topological Entanglement Entropy of Black Hole Interiors

Eric M. Howard

Recent theoretical progress shows that ([Formula: see text]) black hole solution manifests long-range topological quantum entanglement similar to exotic non-Abelian excitations with fractional quantum statistics. In topologically ordered systems, there is a deep connection between physics of the bulk and that at the boundaries. Boundary terms play an important role in explaining the black hole entropy in general. We find several common properties between BTZ black holes and the Quantum Hall effect in ([Formula: see text])-dimensional bulk/boundary theories. We calculate the topological entanglement entropy of a ([Formula: see text]) black hole and recover the Bekenstein–Hawking entropy, showing that black hole entropy and topological entanglement entropy are related. Using Chern–Simons and Liouville theories, we find that long-range entanglement describes the interior geometry of a black hole and identify it with the boundary entropy as the bond required by the connectivity of spacetime, gluing the short-range entanglement described by the area law. The IR bulk–UV boundary correspondence can be realized as a UV low-excitation theory on the bulk matching the IR long-range excitations on the boundary theory. Several aspects of the current findings are discussed.
