Abstract

We introduce a generalization of the original Coordinate Bethe Ansatz that allows to treat the case of open spin chains with non-diagonal boundary matrices. We illustrate it on two cases: the XXX and XXZ chains. Short review on a joint work with N. Crampe (L2C) and D. Simon (LPMA), see arXiv:1009.4119, arXiv:1105.4119 and arXiv:1106.3264.

COORDINATE BETHE ANSÄTZE FOR NON-DIAGONAL BOUNDARIES

E. Ragoucy

Bethe ansatz goes back to 1931, when H. Bethe invented it to solve some one-dimensional models, such as XXX spin chain, proposed by W. Heisenberg in 1928. Although it is a very powerful method to compute eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the corresponding Hamiltonian, it can be applied only for very specific boundary conditions: periodic boundary ones, and so-called open-diagonal boundary ones. After reviewing this method, we will present a generalization of it that applies also to open-triangular boundary conditions. This short note presents only the basic ideas of the technique, and does not attend to give a general overview of the subject. Interested readers should refer to the original papers and references therein.

Nested bethe ansatz for y(gl(n)) open spin chains with diagonal boundary conditions

S. Belliard, E. Ragoucy

In this proceeding we present the nested Bethe ansatz for open spin chains of XXX-type, with arbitrary representations (i.e. “spins”) on each site of the chain and diagonal boundary matrices (K +(u), K −(u)). The nested Bethe ansatz applies for a general K −(u), but a particular form of the K +(u) matrix. We give the eigenvalues, Bethe equations and the form of the Bethe vectors for the corresponding models. The Bethe vectors are expressed using a trace formula

Exact solution of the XXZ alternating spin chain with generic non-diagonal boundaries

Cao, Junpeng, Wen‐Li Yang, Kangjie Shi +1 more

The integrable XXZ alternating spin chain with generic non-diagonal boundary terms specified by the most general non-diagonal K-matrices is studied via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz method. Based on the intrinsic properties of the fused R-matrices and K-matrices, we obtain certain closed operator identities and conditions, which allow us to construct an inhomogeneous T-Q relation and the associated Bethe Ansatz equations accounting for the eigenvalues of the transfer matrix.

The nested Bethe ansatz for ‘all’ open spin chains with diagonal boundary conditions

S. Belliard, E. Ragoucy

We present in a unified and detailed way the nested Bethe ansatz for open spin chains based on(super)algebras, with arbitrary representations (i.e., 'spins') on each site of the chain and diagonal boundary matrices (K + (u), K -(u)).The nested Bethe ansatz applies for a general K -(u), but a particular form of the K + (u) matrix. The construction extends and unifies the results already obtained for open spin chains based on the fundamental representation and for some particular superspin chains. We give the eigenvalues, Bethe equations and the explicit form of the Bethe vectors for the corresponding models. The Bethe vectors are also expressed using a trace formula.

Eigenvectors of openXXZand ASEP models for a class of non-diagonal boundary conditions

Nicolas Crampé, E. Ragoucy, Damien Simon

We present a generalization of the coordinate Bethe ansatz that allows us to solve integrable open XXZ and ASEP models with non-diagonal boundary matrices, provided their parameters obey some relations. These relations extend the ones already known in the literature in the context of the algebraic or functional Bethe ansatz. The eigenvectors are represented as sums over cosets of the BC n Weyl group.

Bethe Ansatz and boundary energy of the open spin-1/2 XXZ chain

Rajan Murgan

We review recent results on the Bethe Ansatz solutions for the eigenvalues of the transfer matrix of an integrable open XXZ quantum spin chain using functional relations which the transfer matrix obeys at roots of unity. First, we consider a case where at most two of the boundary parameters {{$\\alpha_-$,$\\alpha_+$,$\\beta_-$,$\\beta_+$}} are nonzero. A generalization of the Baxter $T-Q$ equation that involves more than one independent $Q$ is described. We use this solution to compute the boundary energy of the chain in the thermodynamic limit. We conclude the paper with a review of some results for the general integrable boundary terms, where all six boundary parameters are arbitrary.
