Abstract

A concept named induced trapdoor one-way quantum transformation (OWQT) has been introduced, and a theoretical framework of public-key encryption (PKE) of quantum message is presented based on it. Then several kinds of quantum public-key encryption (QPKE) protocols, such as quantum version PKE of RSA, ElGamal, Goldwasser-Micali, elliptic curve, McEliece, Niederreiter and Okamoto-Tanaka-Uchiyama, are given within this framework. Though all of these protocols are only computationally secure, the last three are probably secure in post-quantum era. Besides, theoretical frameworks for public-key authentication and signature of quantum message are also given based on the induced trapdoor OWQT. As examples, a public-key authentication protocol of quantum message based on SN-S authentication scheme and two quantum digital signature protocols based on RSA and McEliece algorithms respectively are presented.

Quantum-message-oriented public-key encryption scheme beyond computational hypothesis

Min Liang, Li Yang

We propose two definitions of quantum one-way transformation and quantum trapdoor one-way transformation beyond computational hypothesis, and give four examples. Then, we present a general way to construct a quantum public-key encryption scheme from a quantum one-way transformation and a quantum trapdoor oneway transformation, and give a concrete example which is quantum-message-oriented. The security of this kind of encryption schemes is based on the one-way property of quantum one-way transformation and quantum trapdoor one-way transformation, and this kind of schemes is information-theoretically secure.

Quantum Elgamal Cryptosystem

ADITYA AGRAWAL, Bhaskar Biswas, K.K. Shukla +1 more

Public key cryptography is extensively used for encryption, signing contracts and secure exchanges over the unreliable network. The findings of Shor in 1994, of a powerful algorithm which was based on quantum mechanics for computing discrete logarithms and factoring large integers sabotaged the security presumptions upon which the currently used public key cryptographic protocols are based, like ElGamal, RSA and ECC.However, few cryptosystems, known as post quantum cryptosystems, while not currently in wide use are considered to be resistant to such attacks. In this paper, a quantum version of ElGamal Cryptosystem is proposed whose security relies on the commutative rotation transformations and measurements in computational basis of qubits. An understanding of the new scheme over the quantum channels is provided. The proposed cryptosystem allows the party to send messages in the form of qubits over a quantum channel. Also the proposed protocol provides an opportunity for two parties to exchange keys which is considered as one of the major concerns while developing post quantum cryptosystems.

Quantum Public-Key Encryption Schemes Based on Conjugate Coding

Li Yang, Biyao Yang, Chong Xiang

We present several quantum public-key encryption (QPKE) protocols designed with conjugate coding single-photon string, thus may be realized in laboratory with nowadays techniques. Two of these schemes are orienting one-bit message, and are extended to two kinds of QPKE schemes orienting multi-bits. The novel structure of these protocols ensures they are information-theoretically secure with, probably, a bound greater than any given polynomial of $n$. Finally, we describe a way to conceal the classical part of the public key with quantum state, this idea is expected to enhance a scheme to be information-theoretically secure.

Quantum public-key algorithms to encrypt and authenticate quantum messages with information-theoretic security

Min Liang, Li Yang

Public-key cryptosystems for quantum messages are considered from two aspects: public-key encryption and public-key authentication. Firstly, we propose a general construction of quantum public-key encryption scheme, and then construct an information-theoretic secure instance. Then, we propose a quantum public-key authentication scheme, which can protect the integrity of quantum messages. This scheme can both encrypt and authenticate quantum messages. It is information-theoretic secure with regard to encryption, and the success probability of tampering decreases exponentially with the security parameter with regard to authentication. Compared with classical public-key cryptosystems, one private-key in our schemes corresponds to an exponential number of public-keys, and every quantum public-key used by the sender is an unknown quantum state to the sender.

Public-key cryptosystem based on quantum BCH codes and its quantum digital signature

Haiqing Han, Siru Zhu, Qin Li +3 more

There is a security threat to the traditional cryptography because of the emergence of quantum computation. Quantum computers can break through many cryptosystems based on mathematical puzzles. The post-cryptography has been established for the sake of the security. It has been proved that McEliece public-key cryptosystem based on error-correcting codes can resist quantum attacks. In this paper, several new generating algorithms of the quantum Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) codes have been proposed, and the quantum BCH codes can correct the errors including bit-flip and phase-flip. At the same time, the quantum McEliece public-key cryptosystem and quantum Niederreiter public key cryptosystem have been designed by us on the basis of quantum BCH codes in this paper, and their encryption and decryption procedures are created in detail. Our cryptosystem not only retains the advantages of postquantum computation, but also can encrypt or decrypt in quantum state. From the perspective of computational complexity theory, both cryptosystems can resist the attacks of Shor algorithm and Grover algorithm very well. The Niederreiter classical digital signature is designed by us according to the structure characteristics of quantum BCH codes.
