New properties of a pure bipartite system in presence of dissipative environments

We investigate some new properties of the model of a pure bipartite system in dissipative environments. The mathematical model of bipartite system with the interaction cavity field in the presence of dissipative environment is designed. The systems is assumed to be initially in the Warner state. The system is analytically solved using master equation method. We quantified the dynamics of quantum correlation between the system, under the influence of the mean photon numbers, type of the initial state and spontaneous emission rate of atom using several measures are, measurement-induced disturbance (MID) and Geometric measure of quantum discord (GQD), negativity (N) and concurrence (C). The effect of the system parameters on dynamics of entanglement is investigated, it is found that the spontaneous emission rate of atom number have much effect on all measures. Moreover the Geometric measure of quantum discord (GQD) have different behavior rather than the others and more influenced by the mean photon number and type of the initial state.

Steady-state entanglement in bipartite systems under the influence of non-Markovian environments

Joachim Fischbach

In this thesis, we examine steady-state entanglement in bipartite systems. In the uprising field of quantum technologies, entanglement is a vital resource. In general, environmental effects are thought to be detrimental for entanglement. Counterintuitively, the interaction with an environment can also generate entanglement in special situations. The idea to prepare entanglement dissipatively in the steady-state by exploiting this interaction poses an alternative approach for creating entanglement. We focus on the influence of non-Markovian environments on the steady-state entanglement in this thesis. Amongst other things, we show how a dissipative ancilla system can be used to increase the entanglement in the steady-state of a bipartite system.

Entanglement dynamics of a pure bipartite system in dissipative environments

We investigate the phenomenon of sudden death of entanglement in a bipartite system subjected to dissipative environments with arbitrary initial pure entangled state between two atoms. We find that in a vacuum reservoir the presence of the state where both atoms are in excited states is a necessary condition for the sudden death of entanglement. Otherwise entanglement remains for an infinite time and decays asymptotically with the decay of individual qubits. For pure 2-qubit entangled states in a thermal environment, we observe that the sudden death of entanglement always happens. The sudden death time of the entangled states is related to the temperature of the reservoir and the initial preparation of the entangled states.
