The origin of quantum nonlocality

Abstract

Quantum entanglement is the quintessential characteristic of quantum mechanics and the basis for quantum information processing. When one of two maximally entangled particles is measured, without measurement the state of another one is determined simultaneously no matter how far the two particles is from each other. How can these phenomena take place since no object can move faster than light speed in a vacuum? The key problem is due to the ignorance of the interaction between a particle and a quantum vacuum. Just like the case where a gun suffers recoil from its firing of a bullet, when a particle is created from the quantum vacuum, the vacuum will be somewhat "broken" correspondingly, which can be described by a shadow state in the vacuum. Through their shadows in the vacuum two quantum entangled particles can have a distance-independent instantaneous interaction with each other. Quantum teleportation, quantum swap, and wave function collapse are explained in a similar way. Quantum object can be interpreted as a composite made up of a particle and the shadowed quantum vacuum which is responsible for the wave characteristic of the particle wave duality. The quantum vacuum is not only the origin of all possible kinds of particles, but also the origin and the core of Eastern mystics.

Locality of quantum entanglement

Guowen Wang

This article presents a local realistic interpretation of quantum entanglement. The entanglement is explained as innate interference between the non-empty state associated with the peaked piece of one particle and the empty states associated with the non-peaked pieces of the others of entangled particles, which inseparably join together. The correlation of the results of measurements on the ensemble of composite entangled systems is related to this kind of interference. Consequently, there is no nonlocal influence between entangled particles in measurements. Particularly, this explanation thus rules out the possibility of quantum teleportation which is nowadays considered as one of cornerstones of quantum information processing. Besides, likewise, communication and computation schemes based on alleged spooky action at a distance are unlikely to be promising.

Quantum entanglement

WU Guo-lin

Quantum mechanics discovers fascinating concepts like entanglement, in which subatomic particles stay correlated regardless of distance. Measurements on one particle instantaneously influence the other, defying classical expectations. While the principles of quantum mechanics suggest the possibility of faster-than-light information transfer, experiments such as quantum teleportation and entanglement exchange indicate this more explicitly. However, it’s crucial to distinguish this from the speed limit of light established by special relativity. This chapter argues that the superluminal aspect observed in these processes pertains to ontological information, and not the actual physical movement of micro-particles; in contrast, epistemological information, derived from measurements, remains bound by the speed of light. Microscopic particles possess both intrinsic properties (their own nature) and extrinsic properties (how they interact with the environment). This duality extends to their identity and distinguishability. Quantum teleportation experiments demonstrate that quantum reality unites quantum information within these micro-particles; in addition, quantum information can be transferred through specific quantum processes.

Comments on the quantum correlation and entanglement

S. V. Gantsevich, V. L. Gurevich

In recent decades it was established that the quantum measurements of physical quantities in space-time points divided by space-like intervals may be correlated. Though such correlation follows from the formulas of quantum mechanics its physics so far remains unclear and there is a number of different and rather contradictory interpretations. They concern particularly the so-called Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox where the momentary action at a distance together with non-local entangled states is used for the interpretation. We assume that the quantum theory can be formulated as local and look for the consequences of this assumption. Accordingly we try to explain the correlation phenomena in a local way looking for the origin of correlation. To exclude a presupposed correlation of participating quantum particles we consider two independent particle sources and two detectors that are independent as well. We show that the origin of the correlation is the feature that the occupation number of a particle (and other its measurable quantities) is formed by a pair of complex conjugated wave functions with in general arbitrary phases. We consider this point as crucial as it provides interpretation of the observed correlation phenomena that may otherwise look puzzling. We briefly discuss a special type of noise that is typical for the quantum correlation phenomena.

The essence of microphysical entities

Fang-Yu Hong

In spite of its outstanding success, quantum mechanics remains mysterious, many problems such as wave/particle dualism and quantum nonlocality remain open. Because a particle, e.g. a photon, is a quantum of a corresponding quantum field, an arbitrary particle state directly corresponds to a quantum field, which shows the quantum field is nonlocal. A microphysical entity (ME) can be taken as the corresponding quantum field which is in the state of a quantum, where the quantum field is responsible for the ME's wave-like nature and the quantum for the ME's particle-like nature. A quantum state directly corresponds to a quantum field. Base on this simple model, many big problems in quantum physics, such as the wave/particle dualism, the collapse of the quantum state on measurement, the nonlocality in quantum entanglement, quantum teleportation, quantum swapping, and the paradox in the delayed-choice entanglement swapping, can be solved in very simple and natural manners.

General Quantum Theory: II ----Measuring & Identical Theorems, Origins & Classifications of Entanglements and Solution to Crisis of Wave Collapse

Chen‐Bin Huang, Yong-Chang Huang, Yi-you Nie

This paper derives measurement and identical principles, then makes the two principles into measurement and identical theorems of quantum mechanics, plus the three theorems derived earlier, we deduce the axiom system of current quantum mechanics, the general quantum theory no axiom presumptions not only solves the crisis to understand in current quantum mechanics, but also obtains new discoveries, e.g., discovers the velocities of quantum collapse and entanglement are instantaneously infinitely large. We deduce the general Schrȍdinger equation of any n particles from two aspects, and the wave function not only has particle properties of the complex square root state vector of the classical probability density of any n particles, but also has the plane wave properties of any n particles. Thus, the current crisis of the dispute about the origin of wave- particle duality of any n microscopic particles is solved. We display the classical locality and quantum non-locality for any n particle system, show entanglement origins, and discover not only any n-particle wave function system has the original, superposition and across entanglements, but also the entanglements are of interactions preserving conservation or correlation, three kinds of entanglements directly give lots of entanglement sources. This paper discovers, one of two pillars of modern physics, quantum mechanics of any n particle system is a generalization ( mechanics ) theory of the complex square root ( of real density function ) of classical statistical mechanics, any n particle system’s quantum mechanics of being just a generalization theory of the complex square root of classical statistical mechanics is both a revolutionary discovery and key new physics, which are influencing people’s philosophical thinking for modern physics, solve all the crisises in current quantum theories, quantum information and so on, and make quantum theory have scientific solid foundations checked, no basic axiom presumption and no all quantum strange incomprehensible properties, because classical statistical mechanics and its complex square root have scientific solid foundations checked. Thus, all current studies on various entanglements and their uses to quantum computer, quantum information and so on must be further updated and classified by the new entanglements. Quantum physics of entangled systems: Wave-particle duality and atom-photon molecules

Gerhard Rempe

One of the cornerstones of quantum physics is the wave nature of matter. It explains experimentally observed effects like interference and diffraction, occurring when an object moves from one place to another along several indistinguishable ways simultaneously. The wave nature disappears when the individual ways are distinguishable. In this case, the particle nature of the object becomes visible. To determine the particle nature quantitatively, the way of the object has to be measured. Here, large progress has been made recently with new techniques, enabling one to investigate single moving atoms in a controlled manner. Two examples are discussed in the following two sections. The first experiment describes an atom interferometer, where the way of the atom is entangled with its internal state. This allows one to explore the origin of wave-particle duality and perform a quantitative test of this fundamental principle. The second experiment reports on the observation of an atom-photon molecule, a bound state between an atom and a single photon. A fascinating aspect of this system is that it makes possible to monitor the motion of a single neutral atom in real time.
