Entanglement of flux qubits through a joint detection of photons

arXivHTMLPDF

Abstract

Abstract We study the entanglement creation between two flux qubits interacting with electromagnetic field modes. No direct interaction between the qubits exists. Entanglement is reached using the entanglement swapping method by an interference measurement performed on photons. We discuss the influence of off‐resonance and multi‐photon initial states on the qubit–qubit entanglement. The presented scheme is able to drive an initially separable state of two qubits into an highly entangled state suitable for quantum information processing (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Entanglement of distant flux qubits mediated by non-classical electromagnetic field

E. Zipper, Marcin Kurpas, Jerzy Dajka +1 more

The mechanism for entanglement of two flux qubits each interacting with a single mode electromagnetic field is discussed. By performing a Bell state measurement (BSM) on photons we find the two qubits in an entangled state depending on the system parameters. We discuss the results for two initial states and take into consideration the influence of decoherence.

The influence of non‐classical electromagnetic fields on persistent currents

Jerzy Dajka, M. Szopa, Apostol Vourdas +1 more

Abstract Persistent currents in mesoscopic rings or cylinders are very sensitive to non‐classical properties of the driving magnetic flux. In the paper we investigate the influence of the quantum and classical noise on the properties of currents. We also study the current characteristics in the presence of maximally entangled states (Bell states) of the non‐classical electromagnetic field. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

Quantum Entanglement of Flux Qubits via a Resonator

Anatoly Yu. Smirnov, Alexandre M. Zagoskin

We show that flux qubits can be efficiently entangled by inductive coupling to a tunable resonant circuit, in the scheme reminiscent of atoms' entanglement through the optical cavity mode. It is shown, in particular, that the single-photon excitation of the resonator produces the pure Bell state of qubits with the completely disentangled LC circuit.

Entanglement swapping in presence of dephasing

Jerzy Dajka, J. Łuczka, Peter Hänggi A

Abstract Entanglement which originates from a pair of non‐interacting qubits by means of entanglement swapping is discussed when dephasing mechanisms are present. Then, the exact reduced dynamics can be evaluated for two pairs of independent qubits which each are coupled to their own bosonic environment. Each of two pairs of qubits is initially maximally entangled. The conditions for the entanglement survival at asymptotic long times in terms of environment spectral properties are elaborated. It is shown that these conditions hold true also for the inter–pair entanglement stemming. Entanglement swapping can effectively been controlled by a proper choice of initial state of the finite environment (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)

Nonclassical correlations in superconducting circuits

Rosanna Migliore, M. Scala, M. Guccione +2 more

Abstract A key step on the road map to solid‐state quantum information processing (and to a deeper understanding of many counterintuitive aspects of quantum mechanics) is the generation and manipulation of nonclassical correlations between different quantum systems. Within this framework, we analyze the possibility of generating maximally entangled states in a system of two superconducting flux qubits, as well as the effectof their own environments on the entanglement dynamics. The analysis reported here confirms that the phenomena of sudden birth and sudden death of the entanglement do not depend on the particular measure of the entanglement adopted (© 2009 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Coherent coupling of two semiconducting flux qubits

Marcin Kurpas, Jerzy Dajka, E. Zipper

The entanglement of two distant two-level systems (qubits) built on semiconducting quantum rings is discussed. A mechanism of entangling the qubits by swapping is shown to lead to entanglement of subsystems which have never physically interacted. The numerical calculations of linear entropy beeing the entanglement measure are presented.
