Pseudo supersymmetric partners for the generalized Swanson model

Abstract

New non Hermitian Hamiltonians are generated, as isospectral partners of the generalized Swanson model, viz., , where α, β are real constants, with α ≠ β, and and are generalized creation and annihilation operators. It is shown that the initial Hamiltonian H − , and its partner H + , are related by pseudo supersymmetry, and they share all the eigen energies except for the ground state. This pseudo supersymmetric extension enlarges the class of non Hermitian Hamiltonians H ± , related to their respective Hermitian counterparts h ± , through the same similarity transformation operator ρ: H ± = ρ −1 h ± ρ. The formalism is applied to the entire class of shape-invariant models.

Generalized Swanson Models and their solutions

Anjana Sinha, Pinaki Roy

We analyze a class of non-Hermitian quadratic Hamiltonians, which are of the form H = A † A + αA 2 + βA † 2, where α, β are real constants, with α ̸ = β, and A † and A are generalized creation and annihilation operators. Thus these Hamiltonians may be classified as generalized Swanson models. It is shown that the eigenenergies are real for a certain range of values of the parameters. A similarity transformation ρ, mapping the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian H to a Hermitian one h, is also obtained. It is shown that H and h share identical energies. As explicit examples, the solutions of a couple of models based on the trigonometric Rosen-Morse I and the hyperbolic Rosen-Morse II type potentials are obtained. We also study the case when the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian is PT symmetric. PACS: 03.65-w

Supersymmetric Extension of Non-Hermitian su(2) Hamiltonian and Supercoherent States

Omar Cherbal

A new class of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians with real spectrum, which are written as a real linear combination of su(2) generators in the form H = ωJ 3 + αJ -+ βJ + , α = β, is analyzed. The metrics which allows the transition to the equivalent Hermitian Hamiltonian is established.A pseudo-Hermitian supersymmetic extension of such Hamiltonians is performed. They correspond to the pseudo-Hermitian supersymmetric systems of the boson-phermion oscillators. We extend the supercoherent states formalism to such supersymmetic systems via the pseudo-unitary supersymmetric displacement operator method. The constructed family of these supercoherent states consists of two dual subfamilies that form a bi-overcomplete and bi-normal system in the boson-phermion Fock space. The states of each subfamily are eigenvectors of the boson annihilation operator and of one of the two phermion lowering operators.

Non-isospectrality of the generalized Swanson Hamiltonian and harmonic oscillator

Bikashkali Midya, P P Dube, Rajkumar Roychoudhury

The generalized Swanson Hamiltonian with can be transformed into an equivalent Hermitian Hamiltonian with the help of a similarity transformation. It is shown that the equivalent Hermitian Hamiltonian can be further transformed into the harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian so long as constant. However, the main objective of this communication is to show that though the commutator of and is constant, the generalized Swanson Hamiltonian is not necessarily isospectral to the harmonic oscillator. The reason for this anomaly is discussed in the framework of position-dependent mass models by choosing A ( x ) as the inverse square root of the mass function.

Non-isospectrality of the generalized swanson hamiltonian and harmonic oscillator

Bikashkali Midya, Partha Dube, Rajkumar Roychoudhury

The generalized Swanson Hamiltonian $H_{GS} = w (\tilde{a}\tilde{a}^\dag+ 1/2) + \alpha \tilde{a}^2 + \beta \tilde{a}^{\dag^2}$ with $\tilde{a} = A(x)d/dx + B(x)$, can be transformed into an equivalent Hermitian Hamiltonian with the help of a similarity transformation. It is shown that the equivalent Hermitian Hamiltonian can be further transformed into the harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian so long as $[\tilde{a},\tilde{a}^\dag]=$ constant. However, the main objective of this paper is to show that though the commutator of $\tilde{a}$ and $\tilde{a}^\dag$ is constant, the generalized Swanson Hamiltonian is not necessarily isospectral to the harmonic oscillator. Reason for this anomaly is discussed in the frame work of position dependent mass models by choosing $A(x)$ as the inverse square root of the mass function.

Quasi-Hermitian supersymmetric extensions of a non-Hermitian oscillator Hamiltonian and of its generalizations

C Quesne

A harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian augmented by a non-Hermitian -symmetric part and its su(1,1) generalizations, for which a family of positive-definite metric operators was recently constructed, are re-examined in a supersymmetric context. Some quasi-Hermitian supersymmetric extensions of such Hamiltonians are proposed by enlarging su(1,1) to a superalgebra. This allows the construction of new non-Hermitian Hamiltonians related by similarity to Hermitian ones. Some examples of them are reviewed.
