Abstract

We propose a cavity-QED-based scheme of generating entanglement between atoms. The scheme is scalable to an arbitrary number of atoms, and can be used to generate a variety of multipartite entangled states such as the Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger, $W$, and cluster states. Furthermore, with a role switching of atoms with photons, the scheme can be used to generate entanglement between cavity fields. We also introduce a scheme that can generate an arbitrary multipartite field graph state.

Entanglement engineering of a GHZ-state and W-state using arbitrary numbers of cavities

Zainub Liaqat, Aeysha Khalique, Manzoor Ikram

Abstract We develop a theoretical model for entanglement engineering to generate a multipartite system of field states in high-Q cavities using a cavity-QED. Our model consists of two-level atoms interacting successively with the field inside the arbitrary number of high-Q cavities for pre-calculated interaction times of the atoms with the fields. Controlling these pre-calculated interaction times of the atom-field gives the successful generation of the Greenberg–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state and the W-state in N cavities. We also evaluate the dynamics of entanglement of GHZ entangled field states when they interact with the reservoir.

Scheme for the generation of three-atom Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger states and teleportation of entangled atomic states

Ye Liu, Guang‐Can Guo

A scheme is proposed for the preparation of Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger states for three atoms and for teleportation of an entangled atom pair by use of the triplet in cavity QED. The cavity is only virtually excited, and thus the scheme is insensitive to the cavity field states and the cavity decay. The preparation and teleportation can be achieved in a simple way.

Generation of Multi-atom Entanglement of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger and W States in Cavity QED

ZHANGRong, Rong, Жу +1 more

A method to prepare multi-particle entanglement of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-type and W-type is proposed through the interaction between the cavity and many atoms simultaneously . After suitable interaction, the selected measurements on the cavity field can create the entangled atomic states. These entangled states can be useful for quantum information manipulation and fundamental study of quantum theory. These states that violate the Bell's inequality are proven.

Schemes for the generation of multipartite entanglement of remote atoms trapped in separate optical cavities

Hong‐Fu Wang, Xiao‐Qiang Shao, Yongfang Zhao +2 more

Based on the interference effect of polarized photons leaking out of separate cavities, we propose schemes for the generation of the N -atom Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ) state, three-atom W state and a genuine four-atom entangled state |χ⟩. In these schemes, each of the atoms is trapped separately in a remote optical cavity, and the possible spontaneous channels induced by the excited atoms lead to the coherent superposition of the states of the atoms. The desired multipartite entangled states can be generated with a certain success probability by the subsequent detection of the polarized photons in different modes. The schemes would be useful steps towards long-distance quantum communication, distributed quantum computation and constructing remote quantum information processing networks.

A simplified scheme for realizing Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states

Shi-Biao Zheng

In the context of cavity QED a scheme is proposed for the generation of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states. In the scheme three appropriately prepared atoms are sent through an initially empty cavity. Choosing the interaction time of each atom with the field appropriately, the three atoms are finally in a state having the GHZ form. The scheme is easily generalized for preparing n -atom entangled states.
