Algebraic Bethe ansatz for the two species ASEP with different hopping rates

Abstract

An ASEP with two species of particles and different hopping rates is considered on a ring. Its integrability is proved, and the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz is used to derive the Bethe equations for states with arbitrary numbers of particles of each type, generalizing the results of Derrida and Evans [10]. We also present formulae for the total velocity of particles of a given type and their limit given the large size of the system and the finite densities of the particles.

T - Q relations for the integrable two-species asymmetric simple exclusion process with open boundaries

Xin Zhang, Fa-Kai Wen, Jan de Gier

Abstract We study the integrable two-species asymmetric simple exclusion process (ASEP) for two inequivalent types of open, non particle conserving boundary conditions. Employing the nested off-diagonal Bethe ansatz method, we construct for each case the corresponding homogeneous - relations and obtain the Bethe ansatz equations. Numerical checks for small system sizes show completeness for some Bethe ansatz equations, and partial completeness for others.

On the integrability of zero-range chipping models with factorized steady states

Alexander M. Povolotsky

Conditions of integrability of general zero range chipping models with factorized steady state, which were proposed in [Evans, Majumdar, Zia 2004 J. Phys. A 37 L275], are examined. We find a three-parametric family of hopping probabilities for the models solvable by the Bethe ansatz, which includes most of known integrable stochastic particle models as limiting cases. The solution is based on the quantum binomial formula for two elements of an associative algebra obeying generic homogeneous quadratic relations, which is proved as a byproduct. We use the Bethe ansatz to solve an eigenproblem for the transition matrix of the Markov process. On its basis we conjecture an integral formula for the Green function of evolution operator for the model on an infinite lattice and derive the Bethe equations for the spectrum of the model on a ring.

Integrability of two-species partially asymmetric exclusion processes

Ivan Lobaskin, M. R. Evans, Kirone Mallick

Abstract We work towards the classification of all one-dimensional exclusion processes with two species of particles that can be solved by a nested coordinate Bethe ansatz (BA). Using the Yang–Baxter equations, we obtain conditions on the model parameters that ensure that the underlying system is integrable. Three classes of integrable models are thus found. Of these, two classes are well known in literature, but the third has not been studied until recently, and never in the context of the BA. The Bethe equations are derived for the latter model as well as for the associated dynamics encoding the large deviation of the currents.

Bethe ansatz solution of zero-range process with nonuniform stationary state

Alexander M. Povolotsky

The eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the master equation for zero-range process with totally asymmetric dynamics on a ring are found exactly using the Bethe ansatz weighted with the stationary weights of particle configurations. The Bethe ansatz applicability requires the rates of hopping of particles out of a site to be the q numbers [n](q). This is a generalization of the rates of hopping of noninteracting particles equal to the occupation number n of a site of departure. The noninteracting case can be restored in the limit q-->1. The limiting cases of the model for q=0, infinity correspond to the totally asymmetric exclusion process, and the drop-push model, respectively. We analyze the partition function of the model and apply the Bethe ansatz to evaluate the generating function of the total distance traveled by particles at large time in the scaling limit. In case of nonzero interaction, q not equal 1, the generating function has the universal scaling form specific for the Kardar-Parizi-Zhang universality class.

Integrability of the Multi-Species TASEP with Species-Dependent Rates

Eunghyun Lee

Assume that each species l has its own jump rate bl in the multi-species totally asymmetric simple exclusion process. We show that this model is integrable in the sense that the Bethe ansatz method is applicable to obtain the transition probabilities for all possible N-particle systems with up to N different species.

Electronic Systems

Hans-Peter Eckle

Abstract The Bethe ansatz can be generalized to problems where particles have internal degrees of freedom. The generalized method can be viewed as two Bethe ansätze executed one after the other: nested Bethe ansatz. Electronic systems are the most relevant examples for condensed matter physics. Prominent electronic many-particle systems in one dimension solvable by a nested Bethe ansatz are the one-dimensional δ-Fermi gas, the one-dimensional Hubbard model, and the Kondo model. The major difference to the Bethe ansatz for one component systems is a second, spin, eigenvalue problem, which has the same form in all cases and is solvable by a second Bethe ansatz, e.g. an algebraic Bethe ansatz. A quantum dot tuned to Kondo resonance and coupled to an isolated metallic ring presents an application of the coupled sets of Bethe ansatz equations of the nested Bethe ansatz.
