Dataset & Algorithm Policy
Published: 07.10.2025 • Effective Date: 21.10.2025
For users who register on or after 07.10.2025, this Policy applies upon acceptance.
1) What this covers
Standards for publishing and reusing Datasets, Algorithms, and Workspaces on Aqora.
2) Upload Requirements
Uploaders represent and warrant:
You have the rights to upload and license the asset and its metadata.
Provenance is documented; any third-party materials are used under valid licenses or exceptions.
Personal data (if any) is processed lawfully and minimally, with notices/consents as required.
3) Licensing (simple matrix)
Algorithms / Workspace code: use an OSI-approved license (e.g., MIT, Apache-2.0, BSD-3-Clause, GPL-3.0).
Datasets: use ODC/Creative Commons (e.g., ODC-By, ODC-PDDL, CC-BY-4.0, CC0).
If no license is selected, the asset is all rights reserved (reuse not permitted beyond legal exceptions).
License changes are prospective only; previously obtained copies remain under their original terms.
Derivatives/forks must preserve licenses, notices, attribution, and cards/metadata.
4) Personal Data in Datasets
Prefer no personal data. If included, document lawful basis, minimization, and safeguards.
Prohibit: covert biometric scraping; children’s personal data without verified lawful basis and safeguards; sensitive data without explicit legal basis.
Provide a working contact for data-subject requests.
5) Disallowed / high-risk data
CSAM or sexualized depictions of minors; non-consensual intimate imagery.
Government-issued ID numbers, full credit card numbers, precise geolocation of private residences (unless fully anonymized and lawful).
Data obtained in breach of third-party T&Cs or technical protections.
Data that would create clear, significant risk of harm or unlawful discrimination if misused.
6) Benchmarks & Leaderboards
Hidden test sets may be used; do not attempt to extract or approximate them.
No manual labeling of hidden tests, no “peeking,” no leakage from prior releases.
We may request reproducibility artifacts; failure to provide may lead to removal from leaderboards.
7) Removals & Deprecations
We may hide, restrict, or remove assets for legal, safety, privacy, or integrity reasons. We may keep minimal records (hashes, metadata, moderation logs) for audit and legal obligations.
8) Enterprise & Roles
For public community uploads, Aqora generally acts as an independent controller. For private organization spaces, Aqora may act as a processor under a DPA.
9) Disputes & Takedowns
Use the Copyright & PII Takedown Policy to report IP or privacy issues. We provide a statement of reasons and an appeals channel per the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).
