General Rules

  1. Registration Requirements:
    • For in-person attendance at the kickoff event on 24th January, 2025 at CERN, participants must be registered for the Main Conference.
    • For those participating online, registration for the challenge alone is sufficient. A zoom link and recording will be provided.
  2. Team Composition:
    • Participants may compete individually or in teams.
    • Teams can consist of members from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration.
  3. Submission Deadline:
    • All final submissions must be completed and uploaded by 12:00PM (CET) on 28th March, 2025. Late submissions will not be accepted.
  4. Evaluation Criteria:
    • Submissions will be judged based on:
      • Scientific Results
      • Originality
      • Clarity of Presentation
      • Code Structure and Documentation
    • Ensure all submissions are well-documented and reproducible.
  5. Prizes:
    • Winners will be announced at a subsequent conference. Details about the prizes will be shared during the event.

Ethical Guidelines

  • Participants are expected to uphold the highest standards of ethics and conduct during the competition.
  • Strict adherence to the CERN Ethics is required.
    Violations of ethical guidelines may result in disqualification.

Technical Guidelines

  • All submissions must use open-source quantum computing frameworks or tools compatible with the challenge requirements.
  • Proper attribution and citation of external resources, libraries, or datasets used in the project are mandatory.

Communication and Support

  • During the online phase, participants can access support through the challenge’s communication channels.
  • Collaboration and constructive interactions among participants are encouraged, but plagiarism or misuse of others' work is strictly prohibited.
