Abstract

We present a family of 3-qubit states to which any arbitrary state can be depolarized. We fully classify those states with respect to their separability and distillability properties. This provides a sufficient condition for nonseparability and distillability for arbitrary states. We generalize our results to $N$-particle states.

Classification of multiqubit mixed states: Separability and distillability properties

Wolfgang Dür, J. I. Cirac

We give a complete, hierarchic classification for arbitrary multiqubit mixed states based on the separability properties of certain partitions. We introduce a family of N-qubit states to which any arbitrary state can be depolarized. This family can be viewed as the generalization of Werner states to multiqubit systems. We fully classify those states with respect to their separability and distillability properties. This provides sufficient conditions for nonseparability and distillability for arbitrary states.

Separability criteria for genuine multiparticle entanglement

Otfried Gühne, Michael Seevinck

We present a method to derive separability criteria for different classes of multiparticle entanglement, especially genuine multiparticle entanglement. The resulting criteria are necessary and sufficient for certain families of states. This, for example, completely solves the problem of classifying N -qubit Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger states mixed with white noise according to their separability and entanglement properties. Further, the criteria are superior to all known entanglement criteria for many other families; also they allow the detection of bound entanglement. We next demonstrate that they are easily implementable in experiments and discuss applications to the decoherence of multiparticle entangled states.

Entanglement properties of Gaussian states

Barbara Kraus, G. Giedke, Maciej Lewenstein +1 more

Abstract On the one hand we present necessary and sufficient conditions for both the separability and the distillability of bipartite Gaussian states of an arbitrary number of modes. On the other hand we classify tripartite three‐mode Gaussian states according to their separability properties and provide necessary and sufficient conditions for separability of those states . All the conditions presented here can be easily checked by direct calculations, thus providing operational criteria. This solves the separability problem for all bipartite as well as tripartite three‐mode Gaussian states and the distillability problem for all bipartite Gaussian states.

Multiparticle entanglement and ranks of density matrices

Joachim Stolze, Bo Chong, Hellmut Keiter

Based on the ranks of reduced density matrices, we derive necessary conditions for the separability of multiparticle arbitrary-dimensional mixed states, which are equivalent to sufficient conditions for entanglement. In a similar way we obtain necessary conditions for the separability of a given mixed state with respect to partitions of all particles of the system into subsets. The special case of pure states is discussed separately.

Separability and Distillability of bipartite Gaussian States – the Complete Story

G. Giedke, Barbara Kraus, L.-M. Duan +3 more

We present necessary and sufficient conditions for both the separability and the distillability of bipartite Gaussian states of an arbitrary number of modes. The conditions can be easily checked by direct calculations, thus providing operational criteria for both properties. This solves the separability and distillability problems for Gaussian states.

Bound entanglement and distillability of multipartite quantum systems

Hui Zhao, Xin-Yu Yu, Naihuan Jing

We construct a class of entangled states in ℋ = ℋA ⊗ ℋB ⊗ ℋC quantum systems with dim ℋA = dim ℋB = dim ℋC = 2 and classify those states with respect to their distillability properties. The states are bound entanglement for the bipartite split (AB) - C. The states are non-positive partial transpose (NPT) entanglement and 1-copy undistillable for the bipartite splits A - (BC) and B - (AC). Moreover, we generalize the results of 2 ⊗ 2 ⊗ 2 systems to the case of 2n ⊗ 2n ⊗ 2n systems.
