Abstract

Eigenstates of general complex linear combination of SU(1,1) generators (su^c(1,1) algebraic coherent states (ACS)) are constructed and discussed. In case of quadratic boson representation ACS can exhibit strong both linear and quadratic amplitude squeezing. ACS for a given Lie group algebra contain the corresponding Perelomov CS with maximal symmetry.

Generalized intelligent states and squeezing

D. A. Trifonov

The Robertson–Schrödinger uncertainty relation for two observables A and B is shown to be minimized in the eigenstates of the operator λA+iB, λ being a complex number. Such states, called generalized intelligent states (GIS), can exhibit arbitrarily strong squeezing of A or B. The time evolution of GIS is stable for Hamiltonians which admit linear in A and B invariants. Systems of GIS for the SU(1,1) and SU(2) groups are constructed and discussed. It is shown that SU(1,1) GIS contain all the Perelomov coherent states (CS) and the Barut and Girardello CS while the spin CS are a subset of SU(2) GIS. CS for an arbitrary semisimple Lie group can be considered as a GIS for the quadratures of the Weyl generators.

SU(2) and SU(1,1) algebra eigenstates: A unified analytic approach to coherent and intelligent states

Brif, C

We introduce the concept of algebra eigenstates which are defined for an arbitrary Lie group as eigenstates of elements of the corresponding complex Lie algebra. We show that this concept unifies different definitions of coherent states associated with a dynamical symmetry group. On the one hand, algebra eigenstates include different sets of Perelomov's generalized coherent states. On the other hand, intelligent states (which are squeezed states for a system of general symmetry) also form a subset of algebra eigenstates. We develop the general formalism and apply it to the SU(2) and SU(1,1) simple Lie groups. Complete solutions to the general eigenvalue problem are found in the both cases, by a method that employs analytic representations of the algebra eigenstates. This analytic method also enables us to obtain exact closed expressions for quantum statistical properties of an arbitrary algebra eigenstate. Important special cases such as standard coherent states and intelligent states are examined and relations between them are studied by using their analytic representations.

On the Squeezed States fornObservables

D. A. Trifonov

Three basic properties (eigenstate, orbit and intelligence) of the canonical squeezed states (SS) are extended to the case of n arbitrary observables. The SS for n observables X i can be constructed as eigenstates of their linear complex combinations or as states which minimize the Robertson uncertainty relation. When X i close a Lie algebra L the generalized SS could also be introduced as orbit of Aut ( L C ). It is shown that for the nilpotent algebra h N the three generalizations are equivalent. For the simple su (1, 1) the family of eigenstates of uK - + vK + ( K ± being lowering and raising operators) is a family of ideal K 1 – K 2 SS, but it cannot be represented as an Aut ( su C (1, 1) orbit although the SU (1, 1) group related coherent states (CS) with symmetry are contained in it. Eigenstates | z, u, v, w ; k ⟩ of general combination of uK - + vK + + wK 3 the three generators K j of SU (1, 1) in the representations with Bargman index k = 1/2, 1, ... , and k = 1/4, 3/4 are constructed and discussed in greater detail. These are ideal SS for K 1,2,3 . In the case of the one mode realization of su (1, 1) the nonclassical properties (sub-Poissonian statistics, quadrature squeezing) of the generalized even CS | z, u, v ; + ⟩ are demonstrated. The states | z, u, v, w ; k = 1/4, 3/4 ⟩ can exhibit strong both linear and quadratic squeezing.

SU(1,1) Nonlinear Coherent States

B. Mojaveri, Alireza Dehghani

The idea of construction of the nonlinear coherent states based on the hypergeometric- type operators associated to the Weyl-Heisenberg group [J:P hys:A 45(2012) 095304], are generalized to the similar states for the arbitrary Lie group SU(1, 1). By using of a discrete, unitary and irreducible representation of the Lie algebra su(1, 1) wide range of generalized nonlinear coherent states(GNCS) have been introduced, which admit a resolution of the identity through positive definite measures on the complex plane. We have shown that realization of these states for different values of the deformation pa- rameters r = 1 and 2 lead to the well-known Klauder-Perelomov and Barut-Girardello coherent states associated to the Irreps of the Lie algebra su(1, 1), respectively. It is worth to mention that, like the canonical coherent states, GNCS possess the temporal stability property. Finally, studying some statistical characters implies that they have indeed nonclassical features such as squeezing, anti-bunching effect and sub-Poissonian statistics, too.

Coherent states of SU(l, 1) groups

D M Gitman, A L Shelepin

This work can be considered as a continuation of our previous study, in which an explicit form of coherent states (cs) for all SU(N) groups was constructed by means of representations on polynomials. Here we extend that approach to any SU(l, 1) group and construct explicitly corresponding cs. The cs are parametrized by dots of a coset space, which is, in that particular case, the open complex ball CD l . This space together with the projective space CP l , which parametrizes the cs of the SU(l + 1) group, exhaust all complex spaces of constant curvature. Thus, both sets of cs provide a possibility for an explicit analysis of the quantization problem on all the spaces of constant curvature. This is why the cs of the SU(N) and SU(l, 1) groups are of importance in connection with quantization theory. The constructed cs form an overcompleted system in the representation space and, as quantum states possessing a minimum uncertainty, they minimize an invariant dispersion of the quadratic Casimir operator. The classical limit is investigated in terms of symbols of operators; the limit of the so called star commutator of the symbols generates the Poisson bracket in CD l , the latter plays the role of the phase space for the corresponding classical mechanics.

Schrödinger Intelligent States and Linear and Quadratic Amplitude Squeezing

D. A. Trifonov

A complete set of solutions |z,u,v>_{sa} of the eigenvalue equation (ua^2+va^{dagger 2})|z,u,v> = z|z,u,v> ([a,a^{dagger}]=1) are constructed and discussed. These and only these states minimize the Schrödinger uncertainty inequality for the squared amplitude (s.a.) quadratures. Some general properties of Schrödinger intelligent states (SIS) |z,u,v> for any two observables X, Y are discussed, the sets of even and odd s.a. SIS |z,u,v;+,-> being studied in greater detail. The set of s.a. SIS contain all even and odd coherent states (CS) of Dodonov, Malkin and Man'ko, the Perelomov SU(1,1) CS and the squeezed Hermite polynomial states of Bergou, Hillery and Yu. The even and odd SIS can exhibit very strong both linear and quadratic squeezing (even simultaneously) and super- and subpoissonian statistics as well. A simple sufficient condition for superpoissonian statistics is obtained and the diagonalization of the amplitude and s.a. uncertainty matrices in any pure or mixed state by linear canonical transformations is proven.
