Exponential and Laguerre squeezed states for su(1,1) algebra and the Calogero-Sutherland model

Abstract

A class of squeezed states for the su(1,1) algebra is found and expressed by the exponential and Laguerre-polynomial operators acting on the vacuum states. As a special case it is proved that Perelomov's coherent state is a ladder-operator squeezed state and therefore a minimum uncertainty state. The theory is applied to the two-particle Calogero-Sutherland model. We find some squeezed states and compared them with the classical trajectories. The connection with some su(1,1) quantum optical systems (amplitude-squared realization, Holstein-Primakoff realization, the two-mode realization, and a four-mode realization) is also discussed. \textcopyright{} 1996 The American Physical Society.

COHERENT STATES, DISPLACED NUMBER STATES AND LAGUERRE POLYNOMIAL STATES FOR su(1, 1) LIE ALGEBRA

XIAO-GUANG WANG

The ladder operator formalism of a general quantum state for su(1, 1) Lie algebra is obtained. The state bears the generally deformed oscillator algebraic structure. It is found that the Perelomov's coherent state is a su(1, 1) nonlinear coherent state. The expansion and the exponential form of the nonlinear coherent state are given. We obtain the matrix elements of the su(1, 1) displacement operator in terms of the hypergeometric functions and the expansions of the displaced number states and Laguerre polynomial states are followed. Finally some interesting su(1, 1) optical systems are discussed.

Approach of the associated Laguerre functions to the su(1,1) coherent states for some quantum solvable models

Hossein Fakhri, Alireza Dehghani, B. Mojaveri

Abstract Using second‐order differential operators as a realization of the su(1,1) Lie algebra by the associated Laguerre functions, it is shown that the quantum states of the Calogero‐Sutherland, half‐oscillator and radial part of a 3D harmonic oscillator constitute the unitary representations for the same algebra. This su(1,1) Lie algebra symmetry leads to derivation of the Barut‐Girardello and Klauder‐Perelomov coherent states for those models. The explicit compact forms of these coherent states are calculated. Also, to realize the resolution of the identity, their corresponding positive definite measures on the complex plane are obtained in terms of the known functions. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Displacement operator squeezed states for general systems

Hong‐Chen Fu, Ryu Sasaki B

Among the three methods of defining the squeezed states of the harmonic oscillator, only two, i.e. the minimum uncertainty and ladder-operator methods were extended to investigate the squeezed states of the general symmetry systems. The only exception is the displacement-operator formalism. In this letter we propose a displacement-operator approach to the squeezed states for general systems. We show that the ladder-operator squeezed states for general symmetry systems can be obtained by applying an exponential displacement-operator on the ``vacuum'' state. The general formalism is presented and it is illustrated with su(1,1) as an explicit example. As a byproduct, the squeezed states of the q-deformed oscillator are obtained and, in particular, expressed in terms of the {\\it usual exponential} displacement-operator acting the ``vacuum'' state.

Generalized q-bosons and their squeezed states

Jacob Katriel, A. I. Solomon

Generalized q-boson operators associated with the simultaneous creation of several q-bosons are introduced. These operators give rise to a realization of the quantum Weyl-Heisenberg algebra and are applied to the construction of corresponding Holstein-Primakoff realizations of the quantum algebras SU q (2) and SU q (1,1). Coherent states of these algebras are defined in the various ways suggested by the equivalent definitions of the harmonic oscillator coherent states, and some of their properties are studied. Particular attention is devoted to the squeezing properties of the quadrature of the electromagnetic field in these states.

Phase operators for SU(1,1): Application to the squeezed vacuum

Christopher C. Gerry

A phase-operator formalism is constructed for the Lie algebra of SU(1,1). Uncertainty relations, analogous to the usual number-phase relations, are also constructed. These relations are then evaluated for SU(1,1) coherent states, of which the squeezed-vacuum state of the electromagnetic field is an example. We argue that the new phase, in the case of single-mode fields, may be interpreted as the phase associated with the square of the field amplitude.
