Energy-levels crossing and radial Dirac equation: Supersymmetry and quasi-parity spectral signatures

Mustafa, O

The (3+1)-dimensional Dirac equation with position dependent mass in 4-vector electromagnetic fields is considered. Using two over-simplified examples (the Dirac-Coulomb and Dirac-oscillator fields), we report energy-levels crossing as a spectral property or as an effect of the hidden supersymmetric quantum mechanical language and/or quasi-parity signatures. Under different settings of the related interactions' way-of-coupling into Dirac equation, it is observed that the two ultimate/effective descendents, Dirac-Coulomb and Dirac-oscillator, exhibit different conditions on the energy-levels crossings.

Research Paper: Solution of the Dirac Equation for Pseudo-Hermitian Hamiltonian and Energy-levels Crossing

Zahra Bakhshi, Fereshte Soleimani, Sare Khoshdooni

In this paper, the relativistic Dirac equation in one dimension is investigated for a particle in an external electromagnetic field, with the property of position-dependent effective mass approximation (PDEM), in the absence of vector potential. By removing the lower spinor component and combining the pair of equations, a Schrödinger-like equation is obtained for the upper spinor component. Using canonical transformations and introducing two first-order Hermitian and anti-Hermitian differential operators, a formalism for pseudo-hermitic Hamiltonians with parity-time reversal symmetry (PT) has been obtained. Comparing the equation derived from pseudo-Hermitian Hamiltonian with the non-relativistic Schrödinger equation leads to a general formalism for one-dimensional solvable imaginary non-Hermitian potentials with real energy spectra. Also, using this process, the complex potentials of Pöschl-Teller and Scarf II with real energy spectra in Dirac equation with PDEM approximationand PT symmetry have been investigated and their application has been expressed. For some particular parameters we will see the phenomenon of energy-levels crossing. In fact, it means that energy levels disappear from the spectrum. Also, for the mentioned examples, potential figures are drawn.

Relativistic Schrödinger Wave Equation for Hydrogen Atom Using Factorization Method

Mohammad Reza Pahlavani, Hossein Rahbar, Mohsen Ghezelbash

In this investigation a simple method developed by introducing spin to Schrodinger equation to study the relativistic hydrogen atom. By separating Schrodinger equation to radial and angular parts, we modify these parts to the associated Laguerre and Jacobi differential equations, respectively. Bound state Energy levels and wave functions of relativistic Schrodinger equation for Hydrogen atom have been obtained. Calculated results well matched to the results of Dirac’s relativistic theory. Finally the factorization method and supersymmetry approaches in quantum mechanics, give us some first order raising and lowering operators, which help us to obtain all quantum states and energy levels for different values of the quantum numbers n and m.
