Abstract

This communication is an enquiry into the circumstances under which entropy and subentropy methods can give an answer to the question of quantum entanglement in the composite state. Using a general quantum dynamical system we obtain the analytical solution when the atom initially starts from its excited state and the field in different initial states. Different features of the entanglement are investigated when the field is initially assumed to be in a coherent state, an even coherent state (Schrodinger cate state) and a statistical mixture of coherent states. Our results show that the setting of the initial state and the Stark shift play important role in the evolution of the sub-entropies and entanglement.

Effects of Atomic Motion on the Entropies and Entanglement for a JC Model with a Mixed State Input

A.‐S. F. Obada, H. A. Hessian, A.‐B. A. Mohamed

In this article, we study the effects of the atomic motion and the field-mode structure on the entropies and entanglement of a generalized JC model. We have investigated different forms of the intensity dependent function on the evolution of the entropies and entanglement in the case of a coherent superposition state and a statistical mixture of coherent states as the initial field states. We investigate the partial entropies of the atom and field subsystems numerically. The setting of the initial state of the field-mode and the atomic motion plays an important role in the evolution of the sub-entropies and entanglement.

Entropy evolvement properties in a system of Schrödinger cat state light field interacting with two entangled atoms

Tang-Kun Liu

The field entropy can be regarded as a measurement of the degree of entanglement between the light field and the atoms of a system which is composed of two-level atoms initially in an entangled state interacting with the Schrödinger cat state. The influences of the strength of light field and the phase angle between the two coherent states on the field entropy are discussed by using numerical calculations. The result shows that when the strength of light field is large enough the field entropy is not zero and the degrees of entanglement between the atoms and the three different states of the light fields are equal. When the strength of the light field is small, the degree of entanglement is maximum in a system of the two entangled atoms interacting with an odd coherent state; it is intermediate for a system of the two entangled atoms interacting with the Yurke–Stoler coherent state and it is minimum in a system of the two entangled atoms interacting with an even coherent state.

SUB-ENTROPIES AND PHASE PROPERTIES UNDERGOING THE EFFECTS OF ATOMIC MOTION FOR THE JAYNES–CUMMINGS MODEL WITH INITIAL MIXED STATE INPUT

A.‐S. F. Obada, H. A. Hessian, A.‐B. A. Mohamed

An analytical method to calculate the sub-entropies and entanglement for the mixed state as an initial field is presented. Also, we investigate the effects of the atomic motion and the field-mode structure on sub-entropies and phase properties of the coherent superposition state and a statistical mixture of coherent states as initial field states taking into account different forms of the intensity-dependent coupling. The initial state, the atomic motion and the field-mode structure play important roles in the time evolution of the entropies, entanglement and phase properties.

Entanglement of a two-level atom papered in a finite trio-coherent state

S. Abdel‐Khalek, Eied Mahmoud Khalil, S. I. Ali

In this paper, we study the interaction between an effective two-level atom and a three-mode field. The atom and the field are initially in the excited state and finite dimensional trio-coherent state, respectively. For this sytem, we investigate the atomic inversion, the von Neumann entropy, and the atomic Wehrl entropy. We show that there is a connection between all of these quantities. Also, we prove that the atomic Wehrl entropy exhibits a temporal evolution similar to the von Neumann entropy. It is observed that the Stark shift parameter plays an important role on the evolution of these quantities.

Statistical Mixture of Kaleidoscope States Interacting with a Two-Level Atom: Entropy and Purification

Jorge Andres Anaya-Contreras, Arturo Zúñiga-Segundo, H. M. Moya-Cessa

We investigate some of the fundamental features of the interaction of a mixture of coherent states, namely, a Kaleidoscope states mixture, with two-level atoms in the Jaynes–Cummings model framework. We begin our analysis by calculating the von Neumann entropy of the field, which is determined with the help of the virtual atom method. The oscillations appearing in the entropy indicate a state of purity greater than the initial state, i.e., a purification of the initial state due to a transfer of coherence from the atom to the field. In this oscillatory region, we obtain a negative Wigner function that hints at a (noisy) multiple Schrödinger cat.
