Abstract

We refute in this Reply the criticisms made by M. Abdel-Aty [Phys. Rev. A 70, 047801 (2004)]. We show that none of them are founded and we demonstrate very explicitly what is wrong in the arguments developed by this author.

Comment on “Detuning effects in the one-photon mazer”

Mahmoud Abdel‐Aty

In a recent work, Bastin and Martin [Phys. Rev. A 67, 053804 (2003)] analyzed the quantum theory of the mazer in the off-resonant case. However, our analysis of this case refutes their claim by showing that their evaluation of the coupled equations for the off-resonant case is not satisfactory. The correct expression can be obtained by applying appropriate formulas for the involved dressed-state parameters.

Expounding an argument that we have stated in Sec. IV of our paper [Phys. Rev. A 54, 1793 (1996)], we demonstrate that according to our understanding Schafir's conclusion [preceding Comment, Phys. Rev. A 56, 4335 (1997)] is based upon a premise that is not tenable.

We reply to the Comment by Aryanpour, Maier, and Jarrell [Phys. Rev. B 71, 037101 (2005)] on our paper [Phys. Rev. B 65, 155112 (2002)]. We demonstrate, using general arguments and explicit examples, that whenever the correlation length is finite, local observables converge exponentially fast in the cluster size ${L}_{c}$ within cellular dynamical mean field theory. This is a faster rate of convergence than the $1∕{L}_{c}^{2}$ behavior of the dynamical cluster approximation, thus refuting the central assertion of their Comment.

We refute the criticism expressed in a Comment by P. Talkner and P. Hänggi [Phys. Rev. E 102, 066101 (2020)10.1103/PhysRevE.102.066101] on our paper Phys. Rev. E 101, 050101(R) (2020)2470-004510.1103/PhysRevE.101.050101. We first make clear that our paper is free of any technical mistakes. We then defend the statements of our paper which were claimed to be taken out of context. Finally, we give clear arguments showing that the basic concepts we rely on are meaningful and have a deep rational.

We demonstrate, using general arguments and explicit examples, that whenever the correlation length is finite, local observables converge exponentially fast in the cluster size Lc{L}_{c}Lc within cellular dynamical mean field theory. This is a faster rate of convergence than the 1∕Lc21∕{L}_{c}^{2}1∕Lc2 behavior of the dynamical cluster approximation, thus refuting the central assertion of their Comment.
