Abstract

The dissipative and decoherence properties as well as the asymptotic behaviour of the single mode electromagnetic field interacting with the time-dependent squeezed vacuum field reservoir are investigated in detail by using the algebraic dynamical method. With the help of the left and right representations of the relevant hw (4) algebra, the dynamical symmetry of the nonautonomous master equation of the system is found to be su (1,1). The unique equilibrium steady solution is found to be the squeezed state and any initial state of the system is proven to approach the unique squeezed state asymptotically. Thus the squeezed vacuum field reservoir is found to play the role of a squeezing mold of the cavity field.

A two-level atom coupled to a controllable squeezed vacuum field reservoir

The dissipative and decoherence properties of a two-level atom interacting with a squeezed vacuum field reservoir are investigated based on the nonautonomous master equation of the atomic density matrix in the framework of algebraic dynamics. The nonautonomous master equation is converted into a Schrödinger-like equation and its dynamical symmetry is found based on the left and right representations of the relevant algebra. The time-dependent solutions and the steady solutions are obtained analytically. The asymptotic behaviour of the solutions is examined and the approach to the equilibrium state is proved. Based on the analytic solution the response of the system to the squeezed vacuum field reservoir is studied numerically.

Dynamics of entangled states in squeezed reservoirs

Khalid Saleh Aloufi, Smail B. Bougouffa, Z. Ficek

Dynamics of entangled states of two independent single-mode cavities in squeezed reservoirs is investigated in the context of matching of the correlations contained in the entangled states to those contained in the squeezed reservoir. We illustrate our considerations by examining the time evolution of entanglement of single and double excitation NOON and EPR states. A comparison is made when each cavity is coupled to own reservoir or both cavities are coupled to a common reservoir. It is shown that the evolution of the initial entanglement and transfer of entanglement from the squeezed reservoir to the cavity modes depend crucially on the matching of the initial correlations to that contained in the squeezed reservoir. In particular, it is found that initially entangled modes with correlations different from the reservoir correlations prevent the transfer of the correlations from the squeezed field to the modes. In addition, we find that the transient entanglement exhibits several features unique to quantum nature of squeezing. In particular, we show that in the case of separate squeezed reservoirs a variation of the decay time of the initial entanglement with the squeezing phase is unique to quantum squeezing. In the case of a common reservoir a recurrence of entanglement occurs and we find that this feature also results from the reservoir correlations unique to quantum squeezing. There is no revival of entanglement when the modes interact with a classically squeezed field.

Quantum Entanglement and Nonlocality Properties of Two-Mode Squeezed Thermal States in a Common-Reservoir Model

Shao-Hua Xiang, Kehui Song, Wei Wen +1 more

We study a system consisting of two identical non-interacting single-mode cavity fields coupled to a common vacuum environment and provide general, explicit, and exact solutions to its master equation by means of the characteristic function method. We analyze the entanglement dynamics of two-mode squeezed thermal state in this model and show that its entanglement dynamics is strongly determined by the two-mode squeezing parameter and the purity. In particular, we find that two-mode squeezed thermal state with the squeezing parameter is extremely fragile and almost does not survive in a common vacuum environment. We investigate the time evolution of nonlocality for two-mode squeezed thermal state in such an environment. It is found that the evolved state loses its nonlocality in the beginning of the evolution, but after a time, the revival of nonlocality can occur.

ENTROPY GROWTH INDUCED BY A SQUEEZED FIELD WITH A PHASE-DAMPING RESERVOIR

A.‐S. F. Obada, H. A. Hessian, A.‐B. A. Mohamed

A system of a two level atom interacting with a multi-photon single mode of electromagnetic field and damped with a phase reservoir is considered. The squeezed coherent state is taken as initial field state. The exact solution of the master equation in the case of a high-Q cavity is found. The effects of phase damping on the temporal evolution of some quantitative entanglement measures between the states of the system are investigated.

There is no revival of the entanglement when the modes interact with a classically correlated field.
