Abstract

We propose an experimentally feasible scheme to realize the nonlocal gate between two different quantum network nodes. With an entangled qubit (ebit) acts as a quantum channel, our scheme is resistive to actual environment noise and can get high fidelity in current cavity quantum electrodynamics system.

Chuan-Long Liu, Yanwei Wang, Yi-Zhuang Zheng

A scheme for realizing the non-local Toffoli gate among three spatially separated nodes through cavity quantum electrodynamics (C-QED) is presented. The scheme can obtain high fidelity in the current C-QED system. With entangled qubits as quantum channels, the operation is resistive to actual environment noise.

Quantum networks for implementing locally and conclusively a nonlocal qudit Toffoli gate: Designing and optimizing

Hong LU, LiBing CHEN

Local implementation of a nonlocal d-dimensional quantum Toffoli gate is considered. We construct respectively two quantum networks for realizing this nonlocal quantum gate conclusively. The first one is based on Eisert’s insight but follow a different pathway which results in a nonlocal d-dimensional Toffoli gate design. This scheme involves a local d-dimensional three-body interaction, which does not appear naturally in physical system. The other one can improve significantly the local implementation of this nonlocal gate if the target node harnesses a qutrit as a catalyser. In its simplest form this quantum network that does the improved scheme is built entirely of local single-body and two-body elementary gates, and with only 3 two-body elementary gates at the target node. The latter is simpler but conclusive, and more efficient but with less resource, which will make it more feasible with the current experimental technology and more suitable for large-scale quantum network.

Scheme for implementing nonlocal high-fidelity quantum controlled-not gates on quantum-dot-confined electron spins using optical microcavities and photonic hyperentanglement

Yu‐Hong Han, Cong Cao, Ling Fan +1 more

Quantum information networks can transmit quantum states and perform quantum operations between different quantum network nodes, which are essential for various applications of quantum information technology in the future. In this paper, a potentially practical scheme for implementing nonlocal quantum controlled-not (CNOT) gate operations on quantum-dot-confined electron spins between two quantum network nodes is presented. The scheme can realize parallel teleportation of two nonlocal quantum CNOT gates simultaneously by employing hyperentangled photon pairs to establish quantum channel, which can effectively improve the channel capacity and operational speed. The core of the scheme are two kinds of photon-spin hybrid quantum CNOT gate working in a failure-heralded and fidelity-robust fashion. With the heralded mechanism, the nonlocal CNOT gates can be implementated with unity fidelities in principle, even if the particularly ideal conditions commonly used in other schemes are not satisfied strictly. Our analysis and calculations indicate that the scheme can be demonstrated efficiently (with efficiency exceeding 99%) with current or near-future technologies. Moreover, the utilized photon-spin hybrid quantum gates can be regarded as universal modules for many other quantum information processing (QIP) tasks. Therefore, the scheme is potential for constructing elementary quantum networks, and realizing nolocal QIP with high channel capacities, high fidelities, and high efficiencies.

A scheme for quantum logic gate based on coherent-state qubits in cavity QED system

Shi-Qing Tang, Shunlong Luo, Jiayi Xu

A two-qubit quantum swap gate scheme based on coherent state qubit is proposed in cavity quantum electrodynamics system. Our scheme adopt the interaction between the Λ-type atomic ensemble and the two-mode optical cavity, and the swap gate can be realized directly only one step, so as to save a lot of quantum resources and reduce the number of single qubit rotation operations in the actual quantum information processing. It is found that under the condition of large detuning limit, the excited states of atoms are adiabatically eliminated, and the decoherence caused by the spontaneous emission of atoms is effectively suppressed. All atoms in the optical cavity are universally addressed, which reduces the experimental operation difficulty of the scheme. The fidelity of the quantum logic gate is maintained at a very high level when the photon loss of the cavity field is considered. Compared with the single-atom scheme, it is found that the atom-cavity interaction time required by the atomic ensemble scheme is inversely proportional to the number of atoms, so that the speed of the quantum logic gate can be increased by N times. Therefore, in principle, as long as enough atoms interacting with the optical field, an effective coupling of any atom-cavity field can be generated, which is conducive to selecting the appropriate quantum gate operation time in practical operation and effectively avoiding decoherence.

Scheme for Implementing A Fredkin Gate with A Four-level Atom in Two-mode Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics

Gao Feng

A scheme is proposed for realization of three-qubit Fredkin gate for two intracavity modes with a four-level atom through the atom-cavity resonant interaction in a cavity quantum electrodynamics system. In the presented protocol, the two states of the atom form the controlling qubit and the two quantized cavity-field modes act as the two target qubits. The experimental feasibility of our proposal are also discussed.

Implementation of a nonlocal N -qubit conditional phase gate using the nitrogen–vacancy center and microtoroidal resonator coupled systems

Cong Cao, Gang Liu, Ru Zhang +1 more

Implementation of a nonlocal multi-qubit conditional phase gate is an essential requirement in some quantum information processing (QIP) tasks. Recently, a novel solid-state cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) system, in which the nitrogen–vacancy (NV) center in diamond is coupled to a microtoroidal resonator (MTR), has been proposed as a potential system for hybrid quantum information and computing. By virtue of such systems, we present a scheme to realize a nonlocal N -qubit conditional phase gate directly. Our scheme employs a cavity input–output process and single-photon interference, without the use of any auxiliary entanglement pair or classical communication. Considering the currently available technologies, our scheme might be quite useful among different nodes in quantum networks for large-scaled QIP.
