Entanglement concentration of continuous-variable quantum states

Abstract

We propose two probabilistic entanglement concentration schemes for a single copy of a two-mode squeezed vacuum state. The first scheme is based on the off-resonant interaction of a Rydberg atom with the cavity field while the second setup involves the cross Kerr interaction, an auxiliary mode prepared in a strong coherent state, and homodyne detection. We show that the continuous-variable entanglement concentration allows us to improve the fidelity of teleportation of coherent states.

Displacement-enhanced continuous-variable entanglement concentration

Ondřej Černotík, Jaromı́r Fiurášek

We study entanglement concentration of continuous-variable Gaussian states by local photon subtractions enhanced by coherent displacements. Instead of the previously considered symmetric two-mode squeezed vacuum states, we investigate the protocol for input states in the form of split single-mode squeezed vacuum (i.e., states obtained by mixing a single-mode squeezed vacuum with a vacuum state on a beam splitter), which is an experimentally highly relevant configuration. We analyze two scenarios in which the displacement-enhanced photon subtraction is performed either only on one or on both of the modes and show that local displacements can lead to improved performance of the concentration protocol.

Teleportation-based noiseless quantum amplification of coherent states of light

Jaromı́r Fiurášek

We propose and theoretically analyze a teleportation-based scheme for the high-fidelity noiseless quantum amplification of coherent states of light. In our approach, the probabilistic noiseless quantum amplification operation is encoded into a suitable auxiliary two-mode entangled state and then applied to the input coherent state via continuous-variable quantum teleportation. The scheme requires conditioning on the outcomes of homodyne measurements in the teleportation protocol. In contrast to high-fidelity noiseless quantum amplifiers based on combination of conditional single-photon addition and subtraction, the present scheme requires only photon subtraction in combination with auxiliary Gaussian squeezed vacuum states. We first provide a pure-state description of the protocol which allows us to to clearly explain its principles and functioning. Next we develop a more comprehensive model based on phase-space representation of quantum states, that accounts for various experimental imperfections such as excess noise in the auxiliary squeezed states or limited efficiency of the single-photon detectors that can only distinguish the presence or absence of photons. We present and analyze predictions of this phase-space model of the noiseless teleamplifier.

Generating entangled states of continuous variables via cross-Kerr nonlinearity

Zhi‐Ming Zhang, Ashfaq H. Khosa, Manzoor Ikram +1 more

We propose a scheme for generating entanglement of quantum states with continuous variables (coherent states and squeezed vacuum states) of electromagnetical fields. The scheme involves cross-Kerr nonlinearity. It was shown that the cross-Kerr nonlinearity required for generating the superposition and entanglement of squeezed vacuum states is smaller than that required for coherent states. It was also found that the fidelity monotonously decreases with both the increase of the amplitude of the input coherent field and the increase of the deviation of the nonlinear phase shift from π.

Continuous-variable quantum teleportation of squeezed coherent states

ABSTRACT We propose a setup for teleportation of continuous quantum variables which is optimized for teleportation ofsqueezed coherent states. Our scheme is a modified version of the original setup proposed by Braunstein andKimble [Phys. Rev. Lett. 80, 869, 1998] and it involves an unbalanced beam splitter on the sender's side and asingle mode squeezer on receiver's side. We show that the quality of the teleportation can be evaluated by meansof a fidelity of entanglement swapping and we prove that our modified setup and the original Braunstein-Kimblesetup are equivalent with respect to this fidelity measure. Keywords: Quantum teleportation, squeezed states, completely positive maps, fidelity 1. INTRODUCTION Quantum teleportation, a disembodied transfer of a quantum state between two distant parties, is perhaps themost remarkable and exciting development in the rapidly growing field of quantum information processing. Intheir seminal paper, Bennett et al.1 proposed a protocol for teleportation of a single qubit from the sender Aliceto the receiver Bob. The information about the teleported state is sent to Bob via dual classical and quantumEPR channels. Optimizing the fidelity of continuous-variable quantum teleportation

Yun‐Jie Xia

Based on the fidelity conclusions of employing two-mode squeezed vacuum state for the entangled channel to teleport coherent state, continuous-variable quantum teleportation employing bright two-mode squeezed state for the entangled channel was studied. The results indicate that it's fidelity can be further improved by choosing appropriate parameters, in addition, we can fulfill that fidelity is 1, that is, not anamorphic quantum teleportation of coherent state under particular conditions.

High-Fidelity Teleportation of Continuous-Variable Quantum States Via Non-Ideal Qutrit Entangled Resources

Fatemeh Taghipoor, Mojtaba Golshani, Mostafa Motamedifar +1 more

Achieving near-unity fidelity in conventional continuous-variable quantum teleportation schemes based on two-mode squeezed vacuum states is fundamentally unattainable. To overcome this limitation, alternative approaches utilizing ensembles of two-dimensional entangled qubits have been proposed. In this work, we investigate continuous-variable quantum teleportation employing entangled qutrit resources under realistic noise effects. The results demonstrate that the proposed scheme performs well in both ideal and noisy conditions, enabling high-fidelity teleportation with a reasonable success probability.
