Abstract

We propose a method of generating multipartite entanglement by considering the interaction of a system of N two-level atoms in a cavity of high quality factor with a strong classical driving field. It is shown that, with a judicious choice of the cavity detuning and the applied coherent field detuning, vacuum Rabi coupling produces a large number of important multipartite entangled states. It is even possible to produce entangled states involving different cavity modes. Tuning of parameters also permits us to switch from Jaynes-Cummings to anti-Jaynes-Cummings-like interaction.

Generation of multipartite entangled states by cavity QED

We propose the methods of generating multipartite entanglement by considering the interaction of a system of N two-level atoms in M cavities of high quality factor with a strong classical driving field. It is shown that, with the cavity detuning, the applied driving field detuning and vacuum Rabi coupling, we can produce an entangled coherent state in two single-mode cavities and generate the entangled coherent cluster states in two bimodal vacuum cavities. Tuning these parameters also allows us to acquire the anti-Jaynes–Cummings (AJC) interaction, with which we can generate the maximally two-photon entangled states, and the two-atom and the two-photon entangled cluster states.

Superposition and entanglement of mesoscopic squeezed vacuum states in cavity QED

Changyong Chen, Mang Feng, Kelin Gao

We propose a scheme to generate superposition and entanglement between the mesoscopic squeezed vacuum states by considering the two-photon interaction of $N$ two-level atoms in a cavity with high quality factor, assisted by a strong driving field. By virtue of specific choices of the cavity detuning, a number of multiparty entangled states can be prepared, including the entanglement between the atomic and the squeezed vacuum cavity states and between the squeezed vacuum states and the coherent states of the cavities. We also present how to prepare entangled states and ``Schr\"odinger cats'' states regarding the squeezed vacuum states of the cavity modes. The possible extension and application of our scheme are discussed. Our scheme is close to the reach with current cavity QED techniques.

Efficient Scheme for Macroscopic Superpositions and Entanglement of High-Order Squeezed Vacuum States in Cavity QED

Changyong Chen

We propose an efficient scheme for generating the macroscopic superpositions and the entanglement between the high-order squeezed vacuum states by considering the multi-photon interaction of N two-level atoms in a cavity with high quality factor, assisted by a strong driving field. Through specific choices of the cavity detuning, a number of multi-party entangled states between the atoms and the high-order squeezed vacuum states and among the high-order squeezed vacuum states of the cavities can be prepared, including also the macroscopic "Schrödinger cats" of the high-order squeezed vacuum states, the entangled states of the macroscopic "Schrödinger cats", and so on. Possible extension and application of our scheme are discussed. Our scheme is reachable within the current techniques in the cavity QED.

Generation ofSU(1, 1) andSU(2) entangled states in a quantized cavity field by strong-driving-assisted classical field approach

Roohollah Daneshmand, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

Following the approach of Solano et al (2003 Phys. Rev. Lett. 90 027903) we propose a scheme for a generation of a few classes of entangled (nonlinear) coherent states. To achieve this purpose, the interaction of a spatially narrow collection of two-level atoms with a quantized field in a high-Q factor cavity in the presence of a strong-driving classical field is studied. We perform appropriate Hamiltonians describing the atom-field interaction by focusing on two particular forms of intensity-dependent functions which are directly related to su (1, 1) and su (2) Lie algebras. It is shown that the dynamical evolution of the considered systems can generate bipartite, tripartite (nonlinear) and more complicated entangled states corresponding to the mentioned groups depending on the number of atoms in the cavity. In the processes of the abovementioned generation schemes, even and odd nonlinear coherent states are produced. In the end, in a particular circumstance with the two-mode quantized field we can turn easily from Jaynes–Cummings to anti-Jaynes–Cummings interactions which brings us to the maximally entangled number state . Finally, to quantify the degree of entanglement of the produced states, the measures of von Neumann and linear entropies are applied.

Generation of two-mode entanglement between separated cavities

Fuli Li, Ying Gu, Qihuang Gong +1 more

We propose a scheme for the generation of two-mode entangled states between two spatially separated cavities. It utilizes a two-level atom sequentially coupling to two high-Q cavities with strong classical driving fields. By suitably choosing the intensities and detunings of the fields and precisely controlling the dynamics, entangled coherent states and Bell states can be produced between the modes of the two cavities. These entangled states should have applications in quantum information processing.

Scheme for Preparation of Macroscopic Multi-component Entanglement in Cavity QED

Jia Lian-Jun, Zhen‐Biao Yang, Zhou Zhen-Xiao

We propose a scheme of generating multi-component entangled coherent states of cavity fields. In this scheme, the atoms pass through cavities one by one, simultaneously driven by a strong classical field in each cavity. Then the detection of the atomic states collapses the cavity fields onto multi-component entangled coherent states. It is shown that, with a judicious choice of the parameters of the classical field, we can conditionally produce macroscopic multi-dimensional maximal entanglement for the cavity modes.
