Abstract

We propose a direct, coherent coupling scheme that can create massively entangled states of Bose-Einstein condensed atoms. Our idea is based on an effective interaction between two atoms from coherent Raman processes through a (two atom) molecular intermediate state. We compare our scheme with other recent proposals for the generation of massive entanglement of Bose condensed atoms.

We compare our scheme with other recent proposals for generation of massive entanglement of Bose-Einstein-condensed atoms. We also present explicit calculations that support the possibility of detecting maximally entangled states without requiring single-atom resolved measurements.

Quantum entanglement of many atoms in spinor Bose-Einstein condensates

Xu‐Bo Zou, K. Pahlke, Wolfgang M. Mathis

We present a theoretical analysis of the experimental scheme for creating maximally entangled states of many atoms in spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensates by driving single atom Raman transition [Li You, Phys. Rev. Lett. 90, 030402 (2003)]. It is shown that, with the help of strong external laser pulses, the model proposed by You can be greatly simplified. Using this simplified interaction, an analytical expression is given for the entangled states between atoms with hyperfine spin $\ensuremath{-}1$ and 1. We also show how to generate the entangled state between atoms with hyperfine spin 0 and 1.

Quantum Entanglement of Many Particles in Spinor

Li-Xin Xia, Yiming Xie

We present a theoretical treatment of the proposal for creating maximally entangled states of many particles in spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensates (BECs) by applying a single atom Raman transition [You. L. (2003). Physical Review Letters 90, 030402]. It is shown that the three-mode model suggested by You can be further reduced to an efficient two-mode one by a simple method. We also suggest a scheme for generating the atom-atom continuous-variable entangled states in this system.

Creating Maximally Entangled Atomic States in a Bose-Einstein Condensate

Lixing You

We propose a protocol to create maximally entangled pairs, triplets, quartiles, and other clusters of Bose-condensed atoms starting from a condensate in the Mott insulator state. The essential element is to drive single atom Raman transitions using laser pulses. Our scheme is simple, efficient, and can be readily applied to the recent experimental system as reported by M. Greiner 413, 44 (2002)].

Generation of Entangled Coherent States in Raman-Coupled Bose-Einstein Condensates

KUANGLe-Man, ZENGAi-Hua, KUANGZhen-Hua

A method for producing entangled coherent states (ECSs) for atomic Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) ispresented. The proposed method involves a BEC with three internal states and two classical laser beams ina three-level Lambda configuration. We show how to generate multi-state ECSs through properly manipulatingstrengths of these interactions and laser detunings. A maximally entangled coherent state is obtained explicitly.
