General Uncertainty Relation for Entangled States

Aditi Sheel, Tabish Qureshi

We address the question, does a system A being entangled with another system B, put any constraints on the Heisenberg uncertainty relation (or the Schrodinger-Robertson inequality)? We find that the equality of the uncertainty relation cannot be reached for any two noncommuting observables, for finite dimensional Hilbert spaces if the Schmidt rank of the entangled state is maximal. One consequence is that the lower bound of the uncertainty relation can never be attained for any two observables for qubits, if the state is entangled. For infinite-dimensional Hilbert space too, we show that there is a class of physically interesting entangled states for which no two noncommuting observables can attain the minimum uncertainty equality.

Entanglement criterion independent on observables for multipartite Gaussian states based on uncertainty principle

Kan He, Miaomiao Huang, Jinchuan Hou

Quantum entanglement is one of important resources for quantum communication. Entanglement criteria help us detect entangled states. One of important criteria is the local uncertainty relation (LUR) entanglement criteria, which is studied extensively. However, all existent LUR criteria are dependent on the chosen observables. In the paper, applying the uncertainty principle, we improve the LUR criteria to obtain entanglement criteria for multipartite Gaussian states, which are independent on observalbes.

Strong entanglement criteria for mixed states, based on uncertainty relations

Manju, Asoka Biswas, Shubhrangshu Dasgupta

Abstract We propose an entanglement criterion, specially designed for mixed states, based on uncertainty relation and the Wigner–Yanase skew information. The variances in this uncertainty relation do not involve any classical mixing uncertainty, and is therefore purely of quantum mechanical nature. We show that a large class of mixed entangled states can be characterized by our criterion. We demonstrate its utility for several generalized mixed entangled state including two-qubit and two-qutrit Werner states and it turns out, for the states discussed in this paper, to be stronger than any other known criterion in identifying the correct domain of relevant parameters for entanglement. The relevant uncertainty relation reduces to the Schrodinger–Robertson inequality for pure states.
